The Flash - Season 2 - King Shark Not Returning *Updated*

Update: Thanks to tsukikomew for the heads up.

CBR News has independently confirmed with The CW that King Shark is not part of the upcoming "Arrow"/"Flash" crossover story.

Earlier today, a quote from "Arrow" star David Ramsey surfaced online, which indicated the possibility of the villain's return. "[W]e are going to be tracking down a particular member of the Suicide Squad that so happens to be a 14-foot shark," Ramsey told fans during a panel at Heroes & Villains Fan Fest in San Jose, CA.

Though we were not given story specifics, CBR News been informed that King Shark will not feature in the story, which already includes the debuts of Hawkgirl, Hawkman and Vandal Savage. Of course, that doesn't preclude his appearance on either "Arrow" or "The Flash" further down the road.

The lack of King Shark in the crossover shouldn't come as a big surprise, considering the purported expense of rendering the character for his brief cameo, and the already high budget likely in effect for the superhero-filled storyline.

"It was a very expensive 30 seconds of the show, but our visual effects them are the best and they love challenges like this," "Flash" EP Kreisberg said. "It was just fun for us. Obviously we can't afford to do an entire King Shark episode, so the idea was that he was one of Zoom's minions and just the latest in the line. Which does mean that there is a King Shark on Earth One."

This weekend at Heroes & Villains Fan Fest, David Ramsey (portrays John Diggle on Arrow) confirmed that King Shark will appear in the upcoming two-part The Flash and Arrow crossover event.

"Because we are going to be tracking down a particular member of the Suicide Squad that so happens to be a 14-foot shark," Ramsey revealed to those attending the show's panel at the San Jose Convention Center.
