Taboo, an eight-episode collaboration between FX and BBC One, stars Hardy as James Delaney, a man who returns to 1814 London after spending 10 years in Africa. Upon learning he’s been left a “mysterious legacy by his father,” Production begins this week in London.
Joining Hardy in Taboo are Michael Kelly (House of Cards) as an American doctor named Dumbarton; Jonathan Pryce (Game of Thrones) as Delaney’s nemesis Sir Stuart Strange; Oona Chaplin as James’ half-sister Zilpha; David Hayman as James’ man-servant Brace; Jessie Buckley as Lorna Bow, who “lays claim to James’ father’s will”; Ashley Walters as a dangerous woman from James’ past in Africa; Jefferson Hall (Vikings) as Zilpha’s husband Thorne Geary; Ed Hogg as a cross-dressing spy named Godfrey; Leo Bill as Stuart Strange’s ruthless, fashion-forward accomplice Wilton; Christopher Fairbank as Ibbotson, to whom James owes a favor; Richard Dixon as Stuart Strange’s right-hand man Pettifer; Jason Watkins as the Prince Regent’s right-hand man Solomon Coop; and Nicholas Woodeson (Rome) as the Delaney’s family lawyer.
