Scene Of The Week - November 29, 2015 + POLL

Nov 29, 2015

A weekly feature in which we're trying to find the most compelling, best acted, written, directed and just generally great, memorable scenes that we've seen in past seven days on TV.

CASTLE, "Mr. & Mrs. Castle", November 23, 2015, Actors: Nathan Fillion, Stana Katic
The Scene: Beckett and Castle get back together
Klutzy girl
: I'm glad the separation storyline is over and we can enjoy them both being in the know while secretly still together.

CODE BLACK, "The Son Rises", November 25, 2015, Actors: Marcia Gay Harden and more, The Scene: The Lion King cast sings "He Lives In You" as an old man dies
Jimmy Ryan:
The members of a Lion King stage crew sing "He Lives In You" as an old man has his life support machines turned off while his teenage son watches on. Code Black continues to improve each week and it's fantastic to watch a tight knit group of well written characters, both old and wise and young and worried, face the challenges head on.

DOCTOR WHO, "Heaven Sent", November 28, 2015, Actor: Peter Capaldi, The Scene: The Doctor breaks through the Azbantium wall and finds Gallifrey
Justyna K:
Such an impressive episode and with just one character at the centre of it! Peter Capaldi is truly at his best in this hour and there are so many brilliant scenes I could mention in the article. All the monologues he directs to the absent Clara, his breakdown, all the close calls... Yet the most memorable moment of the episode have to be the final minutes of the story. The truth about the cycle being repeated over and over again for billions of years was something I certainly didn't see coming. I really enjoyed the entire montage with the Doctor figuring out the castle’s puzzle and slowly breaking through the azbantium wall until finally he gets to the other side and he finds himself back home. I can't believe it's Gallifrey. I've always wanted to see more of the Doctor's planet and I'm so excited he found it. If only the circumstances were better. The Doctor's still angry and heartbroken over Clara's death. And with the final reveal about the Hybrid, I'm already loving this season's finale next week. Kudos!

FARGO, "Did you do this? No, you did it!", November 23, 2015, Actors: Bokeem Woodbine, Rachel Keller and more, The Scenes: Mike takes out the Undertaker and his 2 associates & Bear takes Simone out into the of the woods
DarkUFO:
Mike Milligan takes out the Undertaker and his 2 associates. Also picked by Alex Zhora
Darth Locke: Bear takes Simone out into the of the woods, presumably to kill her.

FLESH AND BONE, "Reconnaissance", November 22, 2015, Actors: Sarah Hay and more
The Scene: Claire sees Bryan with Mia (picked by Alex Zhora)

INTO THE BADLANDS, "Fist Like a Bullet", November 22, 2015, Actors: Ally Ioannides and more
The Scene: Tilda kills one of nomads
Darth Locke:
Tilda kills one of nomads, as apart of making a deal on her mother's behalf.

JESSICA JONES, "I've Got the Blues", November 20, 2015, Actors: Krysten Ritter, Rachael Taylor, The Scene: Trish almost dies in Jessica's arms
Aimee Hicks:
Trish succumbs to the effects of the red pill and almost dies in Jessica's arms. The fight between Trish and Simpson that led up to this moment was epic, but the real heart of the scene happens after Trish and Jessica take Simpson down. When Trish loses her breath the concern on Jessica's face was instantaneous. Then when Trish collapses the concern turns to full out panic in a split second. From Trish grasping at her chest to Jessica begging Trish to not leave her the moment was heartbreaking. When the scene transitions to the ambulance the heartbreak grows as Jessica refuses to let go of Trish for even a second as she begs her best friend to not die on her. The acting by Krysten was intense as she expertly sold Jessica's fear over losing the only person she has ever loved. Rachael also did a phenomenal job as she showed Trish's panic and desperation to get a breath and relief at seeing Jessica when she comes to in the ambulance. These two actresses have a great chemistry that aided them into building a phenomenal bond between their characters. A beautiful heartbreaking scene that helped to show just how far these two have come in rebuilding their relationship as the season progressed.

LIMITLESS, "Arm-ageddon", November 24, 2015, Actor: Jake McDorman, The Scene: Brian gets to use the jetpack and flies off down the street (picked by Laura Markus, Ben L and Darth Locke)

SCORPION, "Arrivals and Departures", November 23, 2015, Actors: Elyes Gabel, Camille Guaty and more, The Scenes: Megan leaves Walter a goodbye video & Megan passes away in the hospital
Justyna K:
We all knew the time was running out for Megan but it certainly didn't help me get ready for such a powerful episode. Truly heartbreaking to see this brilliant and kind character slowly fading away and saying goodbye to her loved ones. This was a very emotional hour for me and the final minutes were both tragic and beautiufully done. I always loved the relationship between Walter and his sister and wish we spent more time with the two of them. Walter getting to Megan just in time for her last words meant a lot for the story but was sadly cut short. So the scene I wanted to include in the article is her goodbye video, the one she left for her brother just in case her sickness wouldn't let her say everything she wanted to share with him. Her request, to be himself but let the emotions and loved ones in, is just what he needed to hear in the end and it's the first step in the long process of grieving that's ahead of Walter and the team. I will miss Megan and the wonderful actress playing her, Camille Guaty, dearly. Megan often added so much heart to the story and was the most important person in the life of the show's main character. Such a sad departure in a really great episode. Kudos!
Aimee Hicks: Megan passes away in the hospital. Megan was an integral part of Walter's life, but she also made a big impact on the entire team. The scene was simple with Megan begging Walter to not be afraid, but it was the performances that really sold the scene. Elyes brilliantly showed Walter's confusion over Megan's death, Ari showed Sylvester's heart break over losing his wife, and Katharine beautifully showed Paige's pain at losing a friend and knowing what this loss will do to the team. The actors that played Megan and Walter's parents also delivered heartbreaking performances. While everyone in the scene was phenomenal Camille stole the moment as she guided Megan through the final moments of her life. I've really enjoyed Camille's portrayal of Megan and I hope that at the very least she'll show up in flashbacks from time to time. She made an impact on this show and the fans. Megan and Camille will be missed. A powerful moment within an outstanding episode.
A Dahne: Megan leaves Walter a video saying she love him and to not be afraid to be human. Megan was a great character and I am sorry to see her go. She helped humanize Walter even in season 1 and I'm not sure how he'll take the loss of his sister.

SUPERGIRL, "How Does She Do It?", November 23, 2015, Actors: Melissa Benoist, David Harewood and more, The Scene: Kara wakes up at the DEO after the explosion
Aimee Hicks:
This was a great scene because it included a nice hint of Kara possibly seeing Henshaw with glowing eyes as well as the hug that Alex gives Kara after seeing that she is okay. While I know the show isn't ready to reveal Henshaw's mystery just yet it was a nice hint of what is to come and I wonder if Kara will remember that now that she and Alex suspect him of nefarious actions against Jeremiah. I also love the bond Alex and Kara have and how sincerely concerned Alex was for her sister. They have an amazing sisterly bond. Melissa did a great job portraying Kara as not invincible as she wasn't instantly healed when she comes to at the DEO. She is moving slow and Melissa beautifully sells Kara's stiffness and soreness after the fall. Well done scene all around.

THE AFFAIR, "208", November 22, 2015, Actors: Dominic West, Maura Tierney
The Scene: Helen and Noah walk in the snow (picked by Alex Zhora)

THE LEFTOVERS, "International Assassin", November 22, 2015, Actors: Justin Theroux, Ann Dowd
The Scene: Kevin holds Patti as she dies in the Well (picked by DarkUFO)
