A weekly feature in which we're trying to find the most compelling, best acted, written, directed and just generally great, memorable scenes that we've seen in past seven days on TV.
2 BROKE GIRLS, "And the Wrecking Ball", November 12, 2015, Actors: Kat Dennings, Beth Behrs, The Scene: Max and Caroline talk after stopping the block from being demolished
Aimee Hicks: Max and Caroline talk in the cupcake shop after stopping the block from being demolished. They realize they could have made more money on the buy out, but the cupcake window and what it stands for means more to them than excess money. Max understands Caroline in a way no one else does. They are true best friends and no matter how many witty and sarcastic comments they make about each other they always have each others backs. This scene was one of those more heartfelt moments that this show so expertly slips in between the comedic moments.
ARROW, "Lost Souls", November 11, 2015, Actors: Brandon Routh and more
The Scene: Ray is revealed to be alive (picked by Ben L)
BLINDSPOT, "Persecute Envoys", November 9, 2015, Actors: Jaimie Alexander and more
The Scene: Girls' night out
Kollin Lore: Girls' night out; Jane finally gets some company after many lonely nights in the form of Zapata and Patterson.
GOTHAM, "Tonight's the Night", November 9, 2015, Actors: Robin Lord Taylor, Cory Michael Smith
The Scene: Riddler and Penguin meet for the second time (picked by Kollin Lore)
GRIMM, "Lost Boys", November 13, 2015, Actors: David Giuntoli, Claire Coffee, The Scene: Adalind asks for Nick to lie beside her
Kollin Lore: Adalind doesn't want to sleep alone, asks for Nick to lie beside her; love her, she's always been my favourite character, especially compared to the very stiff Juliette.
Diana Mack: Adalind asks Nick for some company in the night and invites him to join her bed. A very awkward scene, lol.
HAVEN, "Just Passing Through", November 12, 2015, Actors: Emily Rose, Lucas Bryant and more, The Scene: Nathan and Lucy see their son's death
Justyna K: First of all, I'm so glad we finally got to really meet Lucy. They all seem similar, yet every little difference between Audrey, Lucy, Sara, Lexie and Mara make them all feel unique thanks to the brilliant Emily Rose. It was also great to see James again but unfortunately he's gone once again and the scene of his death was certainly my most memorable moment of the episode. I can't even imagine what it must feel like to see your son die... it breaks one's heart. And somehow, this seemed even more tragic, as Nathan and Lucy had to stay away and let things happen, watch as the kid they barely got to know dies at the hands of the Croatoan. The entire scene, starting with Lucy almost taking a shot, then finding out about Nathan, once again hopeful only to be crushed a minute later when he tells her they can't do anything, truly made my heart break for them. After everything that's happened to these two, I really wish for a happy ending. And if only there was a chance to save James... Kudos to cast & crew for such an emotional journey and great work on the series so far!
HEROES REBORN, "Sundae, Bloody Sundae", November 12, 2015, Actors: Zachary Levi, Robbie A. Kay and more, The Scene: The standoff at the ice-cream shop (picked by Laura Markus)
HOW TO GET AWAY WITH MURDER, "Hi, I'm Philip", November 12, 2015, Actors: Conrad Ricamora and more, The Scene: Philip and Oliver show up at the Keating house (picked by Laura Markus)
LIMITLESS, "When Pirates Pirate Pirates", November 10, 2015, Actors: Jake McDorman and more
The Scene: Brian and Ike talk
Laura Markus: Brian and Ike get to know each other better while tossing Mike & Ikes around.
MARVEL'S AGENTS OF SHIELD, "Chaos Theory", November 10, 2015, Actors: Ming-Na Wen, Blair Underwood and more, The Scene: May stops Andrew
Justyna K: Seeing Andrew like this was not an easy view, his words and actions (that made Lincoln go after him!) were scary and powerful, but it was May's reaction and everything she told to her ex-husband that really stole the episode for me. I also loved at least a few other scenes, especially Fitz watching Jemma's recording (these two!) but scene of the week for me had to be Melinda choosing to put herself between Andrew and her friends, opening up about her feelings and finally taking down Lash, no matter how hard and painful it must have been for her. Wonderful performance by Ming-Na Wen, kudos! Hopefully, in the world full of magic and wonder, there's still a chance, a hope for Andrew to return to the man he once was... Can't wait for next week.
REIGN, "In a Clearing", November 13, 2015, Actors: Adelaide Kane, Toby Regbo, The Scene: Francis dies
Jamie Coudeville: After last week, I didn't think the show would still go there. But I'm glad they did because this whole episode was amazing. All of the actors knocked it out of the park, especially Adelaide. I'm very curious to see what direction the show will take now.
SCORPION, "Area 51", November 9, 2015, Actors: Elyes Gabel, Katharine McPhee, Eddie Kaye Thomas, The Scene: Paige tries to help Walter accept the fact that Megan is dying
Aimee Hicks: Paige tries to get Walter to accept the fact that Megan is dying, but to counter her argument he turns to Toby to break down Megan's condition to prove they do know what is going on. Ultimately Paige gets Toby to admit they don't know why Megan's body is attacking her nerves. That results in Walter using Paige's own "we save everyone" philosophy against her. When Megan does succumb to her illness, an event I am not looking forward to because I love Megan's relationships with Sylvester and her brother, Paige is going to have her hands full trying to council the team. The fallout from Megan's inevitable passing will have unprecedented fallout for the team. Given how opposed the team seems to be towards wanting to understand death losing Megan will be hard for them to process. This was a brilliant scene expertly played by Katharine, Elyes, and Eddie.
SUPERGIRL, "Fight or Flight", November 9, 2015, Actors: Melissa Benoist, Chyler Leigh, The Scene: The end scene between Kara and Alex
Aimee Hicks: I am enjoying all the relationships on this show, but the one that works the best is the relationship between the Danvers sisters. Alex has proven to how much she loves her little sister and the lengths to which she will go to protect her. Every time Kara does something new Alex is practically beaming with pride. This scene was a nice bonding moment for them where we get to see them just being two typical siblings. The banter was spot on and I'm fairly certain Melissa wasn't supposed to nail Chyler in the face with that pillow. Both actresses seemed to drop character for a split second when that happened, but they pulled it together to finish the scene. Does make one wonder how many time Chyler had to experience that pillow hit. What I love most about these sisters is they support each other and love one another unconditionally. I hope the show continues to build on this relationship.
THE BIG BANG THEORY, "The Mystery Date Observation", November 12, 2015, Actors: Kaley Cuoco and more, The Scene: Penny and Bernadette spy on Amy's date
Diana Mack: Penny and Bernadette spy on Amy's date while Leonard feels like the third wheel between the two women. I was on the floor lol this scene made me cry: Bernadette acted like a spy while checking on Amy and walking undercover in front of the restaurant where she was having dinner with her new crush.
THE FLASH, "Enter Zoom", November 10, 2015, Actors: Grant Gustin and more, The Scenes: Zoom vs. Barry & Barry realizes he can't move his legs
Diana Mack: At the end of the episode, Barry realizes he can't move his legs. i was totally shocked! Zoom is really a bad bad villain... I wonder what will happen next!
Bradley Adams: Yep, I'm terrified of Zoom. They really made our first real look at him memorable.
THE LEFTOVERS, "Lens", November 8, 2015, Actors: Regina King, Carrie Coon and more, The Scenes: Nora and Erica question each other at the end & The ending
Bradley Adams: I really want to pick the very final scene between Nora and Kevin, which I absolutely loved, but I can't pick it over this scene. Regina King and Carrie Coon played off of each other magnificently and you could feel the raw emotion. It was actually difficult to watch because of how remorseless Nora seemed as she questioned Erika. The way the scene was shot, with alternating close-ups on both actors' faces, only added to the brilliance of the scene. Also picked by DarkUFO
Francesco B: The ending. Kevin reveals to Nora that he is seeing Patty and Erica throws a rock to their window. I truly loved this emotional ending. This season of the Leftovers has been amazing, but the final moments of Lens have been the most emotional minutes of the whole series. This second season is killing it.
THE WALKING DEAD, "Now", November 8, 2015, Actors: Lauren Cohan and more, The Scenes: Maggie is pregnant (picked by Ben L) & Aaron and Maggie get attacked by the sewer zombies (picked by DarkUFO)
2 BROKE GIRLS, "And the Wrecking Ball", November 12, 2015, Actors: Kat Dennings, Beth Behrs, The Scene: Max and Caroline talk after stopping the block from being demolished
