Week two of “Supergirl,” as expected, lost considerable steam, with a drop of 27 percent in the household overnights without the lead-in support from “The Big Bang Theory.” Debuting in the Monday 8 p.m. hour, it averaged a respectable 5.8. 9 from 8-9 p.m., which was 21 percent, on average, above year-ago sitcom occupants “2 Broke Girls” (5.2/ 8 on 11/03/14) and defunct “The Millers” (4.4/ 6).
And “Supergirl” bested competing “Gotham” on Fox (#4: 3.0/ 4) by a considerable 93 percent. Comparably, anticipate in the vicinity of 9.46 million viewers and a 2.3 rating in adults 18-49, based on the Live + Same Day data. Consider this a very acceptable performance for “Supergirl” if it settles in now (which is unlikely unfortunately).
“Supergirl” led into a 6.2/ 9 (#3) in households into compatible lead-out “Scorpion” at 9 p.m. And “NCIS: Los Angeles,” which cannot compare in the young demos to competing “Blindspot” on NBC (#2: 5.1/ 9), finished first with a 5.4/ 9 in the overnights at 10 p.m.
Also on NBC was rock-solid “The Voice” at a 7.6/11 from 8-10 p.m., which will lead the night with ease in all the key demos. Competing “Dancing With the Stars” on ABC dominated with an 8.3/12, leading into a diluted 3.6/ 6 for 10 p.m. special “Countdown to the CMA Awards: Country’s Greatest Crossover Hits with Robin Roberts.”
Elsewhere, the cancellation clock is rapidly ticking on Fox’s recently introduced “Minority Report” (#4: 1.3/ 2 at 9 p.m.), which slipped by 57 percent from aforementioned lead-in “Gotham” (#4: 3.0/ 4 at 8 p.m.). And both “Crazy Ex-Girlfriend” and sophomore “Jane the Virgin” on The CW scored a 0.8/ 1 in the overnights, which was a rise of 33 percent and 14 percent, respectively, from one week earlier (but still below the year-ago pairing of “The Originals” and “Jane the Virgin”).
