Update: Please note, as Deadline notes below, Season 1 is now 20 episodes, "recently given a full-season order with a Back 7 pickup (initially Back 6)."
Former Desperate Housewives star Marcia Cross is returning to ABC’s Sunday lineup with a major recurring role on the network’s breakout new drama series Quantico. The thriller, recently given a full-season order with a Back 7 pickup (initially Back 6), centers on top FBI recruit Alex Parrish (Priyanka Chopra) on the run as the suspect in a major terrorist attack.
In her first major series role since Desperate Housewives, Cross will play analyst Caleb Haas’ (Graham Rogers) mother Claire Haas, the ruling force of the Haas clan who has transitioned from decorated FBI agent to high-ranking Senator and now Vice Presidential candidate. The public sees a skilled politician, a passionate advocate for her causes, a force for good, but her family sees a different woman: one whose ambition comes before all else. Her husband and Caleb’s father, FBI Deputy Director Clayton Haas — recently revealed as having an affair with an FBI recruit — is played by Mark Pellegrino.
