Grimm - Maiden Quest - Review

Nov 21, 2015

This week Grimm brings us into the world of a mobster's family in Maiden Quest, while things are getting awkward at Nick and Adalin's house. Let's see. A wealthy mobster sets three young men on a quest to win his daughter Elena's (guest star Madeline Zima) hand in marriage and earn his fortune. As they work toward accomplishing their task, bodies start to pile up and Nick and Hank are on the case. Meanwhile, Adalind and Nick try to adjust to home life but a surprise visitor shakes things up.

The Wesen of the Week involves a contest between three men to win the mobster's daughter's heart, Elena. It turns out it's not a simple contest but an ancient traditional wesen one named Maiden Quest. Rosalee and Monroe tells the story of it - in a very excited way I'd say, how cute are they? - in which the winner needs to bring to the mobster the head of the man who killed his son, as a trophy. The man in question, named Frankie, escapes death twice 'thanks' to a mysterious Wesen who kills the two competitors first. When it comes to the third one, things seem already done because Nick, Hank and Wu arrest him.The suspect tho doesn't know anything about the killing. In fact, in the end, both Emily and her dad are Wesens, but she's one who killed the competitors. Anyway, before giving his last breath, he tells her the quest wasn't mean to find her a groom but to prove she was ready to take his place. Also, Emily won't be prosecuted for her crimes for two reasons: it's complicated for her and she killed to protect Frankie.

Nick and Adalind try to make it work. They keep bonding as Kelly starts having his first issues in sleeping at night, then they share some family history while enjoing food. Also Adalind tells Nick she met an old collegue from the firm and she ponders to come back to work because she needs to do something otherwise she feels useless. Is this a good time for her to find a job with the Royals's threat and little Kelly?
By the way, Adalind needs more clothes seriously. Did you notice the bra she left in the bathroom? Because Nick did and I can understand how he feels about the whole situation. Is she doing everything on purpose? I think so. In the last episode, Adalind asked Nick to join her in her bed, and now she left a (not so) random lingerie around. And please, Adalind stop telling you're worried about Nick when we all know you're start having feelings for him - she tells him her worries and he hugs her! Are they moving too fast or what?
Anyway, their 'sweet' moment is interrupted when they hear a noise from outside; Nick goes to check and surprise, it's Trubel and she doesn't look fine: bloody and injured.

Do you think Trubel is escaped from Meisner or is she pretending to be good?
We'll see next episode. Share your comments below.
