Steve Maeda has sold drama projects to Fox and CBS. At Fox, he has 244 Degrees of Freedom, set in a world where robots threaten the human race, and at CBS he has an untitled one hour (aka Fascinoma), about the workings of FBI’s Scientific Response Unit. He is writing and executive producing both projects.
244 Degrees of Freedom, which is in first position, is set up at 20th TV. It takes place in a world where robots have evolved in intelligence, influence, and social status, humans have been relegating to a permanent underclass — until one man is driven to lead a rebellion against the machines, risking everything to uncover a conspiracy that could spell the end of the human race.
The untitled CBS drama, from CBS TV Studios and studio-based Timberman/Beverly, centers on a scientist on the road to redemption who heads up the FBI’s Scientific Response Unit, a team called in when traditional law enforcement is baffled by any crime that involves science. Maeda executive produces with Timberman and Beverly.
