This week’s episode picked up right were we left off last week. Elijah finds Jackson in the woods and together they confront Lucien. Klaus got worried about Hayley, who was out killing some witches for Davina, so he enlisted Freya’s help to find her. Cami and Will discussed the fact that when weird things happen in New Orleans, her family always seems to be around. Hayley and Klaus finally face one another and after a lot of arguing she, Hope and Jackson move into an apartment across the street. Marcel confronts Davina with his suspicions that she’s responsible for the dead witches. Freya repeats last week’s prophecy to Elijah and Klaus.
Favorite scene: I was really looking forward to the confrontation between Hayley and Klaus, and it did not disappoint. Up until this moment, I don’t think Klaus realized just how much damage he had caused. You can see the exact moment he gets it, when he stops fighting Hayley. All Hayley wanted to give Hope was a chance to grow up in a loving home with both of her parents, something neither of them really had, and for her to not be as damaged as they both are. The scene’s mood immediately changes from angry to sad when Hope walks in. My heart broke for Hayley when she realized how much she missed these past few months. It’s nice to know Klaus does feel remorseful for what he did. He has a lot of making up to do, but I do hope that Klaus and Hayley learn to get along again at some point for Hope’s sake. She deserves to grow up with both of her parents.
Biggest downward spiral: So last week I mentioned that Davina was in way over her head when she asked Hayley to kill someone. Now I’m not sure whether or not Davina intended for those other witches to die as well, or if Hayley killed them to protect herself, but she ended up with a lot more blood on her hands than we expected. It makes sense that someone would suspect her, especially since she’s known to have ties to the vampires. It’s likely that he’ll expose her by the winter finale.
Shadiest character: So I didn’t mention Will last week because there wasn’t much to tell yet, but this week we got a lot more information. I don’t trust this guy. Him stealing Cami’s laptop set off a major red flag for me. He clearly knows more than he’s letting on.
Biggest mystery: So Hope has started walking, good job Hope! But how the hell did she get out of the crib Klaus put her in right before the fight? We’re not giving that little girl enough credit.
The prophecy: Okay, so according to this prophecy Klaus, Elijah and Rebekah will all fall. One by friend, one by foe and one by family. Now the most important thing we can conclude from this is that Rebekah is coming back. Which version is not clear. Now onto speculation. It seems almost too obvious that it would be Klaus who’s undone by family. However, I can’t see any of the family members turning on Elijah or Rebekah. Not even Klaus because, as angry as he gets, I don’t think he could actually kill one of his siblings. So that leaves by foe or friend. I think Elijah is more likely to fall by friend since he’s always been the trusting one in the family, though maybe not so much lately. That would leave Rebekah to fall by foe, which could be anyone really. Even someone we haven’t met yet.
Klaus: “Freya! It is about time you brought a gentleman home to meet the family. I’m Freya’s brother and you are? No don’t tell me. Let me guess. Brad, Chad, Brody? Let’s go with Brody. What are your intentions for my sister? Shall we discuss a dowry?”
Cami: “Maybe not the best time to be sneaking up on people.”
Klaus: “Freya, I’m aware that 21st century technology remains a mystery to you, but when you see my name pop up on your phone, you answer it.”
