I give SpoilerTV, Sony Pictures Television, and ABC for allowing me to use this promotional photo below.
Beverly and Barry:

In this episode, Barry makes a video about his basketball jamathon. Everything goes to plan until he ACCIDENTALLY videotapes over his 5th birthday party. He comes up with a plan to get the video back from his PE Coach, but the entire video gets ruined. He comes with a plan to frame his mother for taping over the video. She still doesn't get over that she accidentally taped Barry's 5th birthday and even her love of Jazzercise will not cheer her up. Erica gets frustrated with Barry for lying. He comes up with another plan to create a "Momtage", which included clips from past episodes. The plan works until he accidentally tapes one of his own moments again. He eventually comes clean to her that he accidentally taped over his childhood moments. Of course, it seems that Beverly isn't happy with his lying. In exchange of confessions, she admits that Barry won't be a success in basketball, which infuriates and humiliates him in front of his buddies. How will they reconcile?

Murray and Adam:
Meanwhile, while Murray has fun watching The Weather Channel, Adam wants him to work on a robot (which he pronounces incorrectly many times) together. With the help of Beverly, he reluctantly helps him with his project. Later on, he drops out after they fight over the robot's characteristics because he lets him know that he needs to grow up. Erica gets mad that Adam is in her room for no reason. When he explains his fight with dad, she agrees that he needs to grow up too because she had to learn that after she found her Strawberry Shortcake doll smelled like nothing.

Ending of the Stories:
At the end, the song "Forever Young" by Rod Stewart plays and Beverly admits that he has much more talent than just playing basketball. To make it up to him, which works for him, she makes a video of Barry's funniest moments. As for Adam, he takes his dad and Erica's advice to grow up. He follows his dad's footsteps in watching The Weather Channel. Thanks to Pops trying to intervene the conflict between the two men, Murray brings home a surprise that will make Adam love him again: the Johnny 5 robot from Short Circuit. He still is resentful for what he did to him but he forgives him for his decisive behavior. The two are in the car together in the rain and expect the lightning will strike Johnny 5 (just like in the movie), but it doesn't happen. It was such a sweet moment with the parents having bonding time with their sons. The ending scene made me laugh so hard when Barry showed an embarrassing video of Erica playing with her dolls when she wore glasses and braces.

Overall:
Erica did well in helping her brothers give advice especially to Adam. He always likes to play with things that little children enjoy. Even though Murray gave him a hard time on his personality, I'm glad he agreed to having bonding time with him towards the end. As for Beverly, she is right about Barry that he has way more than talents than him wanting to be the next "Charles Barkley". I know someday that Barry will find something he is really talented at other than basketball. Another wonderful episode with the stories because the theme was about growing up and tough love. Don't forget to watch The Goldbergs on Wednesday nights at 8:30/7:30c between The Middle and Modern Family. If you missed this episode or any of the episodes, watch the episodes from the beginning on Hulu Plus. The subscription is worth the money.
