Adam:

In this week's episode, Adam and his classmates are required to go swimming. Everyone except him participates. This causes Coach Miller to call him and his mother to his office that he is failing his class due to skipping swimming. At home, he reveals that he's afraid to show his body because of puberty. IN a solution to solve all problems, Pops and Adam get the idea of skipping swimming class by putting a candy bar to make it look like somebody had an accident in the pool from watching Caddyshack. The next day at school, the coach finds the candy bar in the pool and knows it was a real bar dumped into the pool. He announces to the class that if the culprit is not found, they will all be punished. Dave Kim (who always steals the show whenever he appears) thinks it's Adam, but he causes him and the others to debate over who the culprit is. When the class wants to run laps (that was the punishment if the culprit wasn't turned in a period of time) instead of swimming, the coach decides that swimming for the rest of the year will be the punishment. To avoid this nonsense, Emmy admits it was Dave Kim. Later on, Adam admits that he was the culprit. While he gets a 30-day detention for pulling this stunt, the coach decided that the students that are able to swim with their T-shirts on. I can definitely relate to what Adam went through. When I was growing up, I was afraid to dress out during PE. Eventually, I grew out of it and matured. I love how this story line brought back great memories of my childhood.

Erica and Barry:
Meanwhile, Erica gets the idea from the 1980s hit song, "We are the World" to make a club that brings everyone together. However, Barry calls her out on it and calls her a poser. After he gets kicked out of the club by his own sister, he starts his own club about donuts, which upsets Erica. Later on, Barry has his money for his Air Sneakers but he decides to give it to her. He finally admits he's a poser. It was awesome when they combined their clubs to save the world.

Thoughts:
While this was another fun episode, it lacked the emotional endings that other episodes have. Still, these stories relate to my childhood especially when Erica's club that she invented reminded me of the days when I joined a club that everyone was welcome to. Don't forget to watch The Goldbergs on Wednesday nights at 8:30/7:30c between The Middle and Modern Family. If you missed this episode or any of the episodes, watch the episodes from the beginning on Hulu Plus. The subscription is worth the money.
