A weekly feature in which we're trying to find the most compelling, best acted, written, directed and just generally great, memorable scenes that we've seen in past seven days on TV.
AMERICAN HORROR STORY, "Checking In", October 7, 2015, Actors: Matt Bomer, Lady Gaga, The Scene: The Countess and Donovan feast
Owen Bush: That epic, bloody, brutal but incredibly entertaining feast from Lady Gaga and Matt Bomer, both, whom are new to the show, add a touch of unique and feverish emotion that we lost with the tedious repetitiveness of previous seasons. And damn, that was a lot of fake blood. Also picked by Laura Markus and Joshua Bower
ARROW, "Green Arrow", October 7, 2015, Actors: Stephen Amell, Paul Blackthorne and more, The Scenes: The final scene at the graveyard & Lance meets with Darhk
Ben L: The ending scene where someone's grave was revealed. In other words, one of the main characters might get killed off this season.
Prpleight: Lance is working with Damien Darhk.
GOTHAM, "The Last Laugh", October 5, 2015, Actors: Cameron Monaghan and more, The Scene: The ending scene
Geo N: The ending scene where we see Jerome provoke various Gothamites into uncontrollable laughter and cackling while some also kill and hurt others. Great scene which I'm sure will be pivotal moving forward.
HEROES REBORN, "The Needs of the Many", October 8, 2015, Actors: Zachary Levi, Judith Shekoni, The Scene: Luke and Joanne's tearful fight
Laura Markus: Luke and Joanne's tearful fight after her finding out about his power. All I can say is bravo to Zachary Levi and Judith Shekoni. The acting in this scene was superb, and it definitely brought me to tears. I'm dreading seeing where these two go from here.
HOMELAND, "Separation Anxiety", October 4, 2015, Actors: Claire Danes, Mandy Patinkin
The Scene: Carrie and Saul's conversation (picked by Bradley Adams)
HOW TO GET AWAY WITH MURDER, "It's Called the Octopus", October 8, 2015, Actors: Viola Davis, Billy Brown and more, The Scene: Annalise apologises to Nate
Joshua Bower: Annalise comes to apologise to Nate while Wes is there, juxtaposed with Connor confessing to Oliver about the sex party.
LIMITLESS, "The Legend of Marcos Ramos", October 6, 2015, Actors: Jake McDorman, Jennifer Carpenter, The Scene: Rebecca gives Brian a pep talk
Prpleight: Rebecca gives Brian a pep talk about being himself. She points out that the first thing he did when he took the pill was find a way to help his father.
Darth Locke: Rebecca consoles Brian and tells him his character matters. Also picked by Laura Markus
MARVEL'S AGENTS OF SHIELD, "Purpose in the Machine", October 6, 2015, Actors: Iain De Caestecker, Elizabeth Henstridge and more, The Scene: Fitz gets Simmons back
Justyna K: Once again, Fitz ends up being the man of the hour. I absolutely loved how he simply refused to let go, even after his last week's breakdown and talking to Coulson. In the end, all he needed to confirm his suspicions, to finally have something to act on, was sand, sand that couldn't possibly come from Earth. So many great moments in the episode, all the team interactions and action but there's just one Scene Of The Week - the rescue. Knowing they might not get another chance Fitz jumped through the portal while Daisy and the rest of the team did everything in their power to keep it open long enough to get Jemma and Leo back. The part where Fitz and Simmons try to hold on to each other, with everything around them fighting against them, had me on the edge of my seat till the very last second. But in a truly heartwarming twist, they made it. They both got home and the mission was accomplished with the entire team going back home. I absolutely loved that smile on Fitz's face, Jemma's relief and everyone's reaction. Brilliant work, everyone. Kudos to cast & crew for making the show always worth watching. Also picked by Bradley Adams
QUANTICO, "America", October 4, 2015, Actors: Priyanka Chopra, Jake McLaughlin
The Scenes: Ryan is revealed to be alive & Alex figures out the assignment
Ben L: Ryan Booth was revealed to be alive after he recovered from his injuries
Darth Locke: Alex Parish is the only one to figure out their assignment.
SCANDAL, "Paris is Burning", October 8, 2015, Actors: Kerry Washington, Bellamy Young
The Scene: Mellie and Olivia talk
Jimmy Ryan: Mellie and Olivia talk about what it's like to be the First Lady. Excellent acting by Bellamy Young in particular here, and a fine bit of writing too.
SCORPION, "Fish Filet", October 5, 2015, Actors: Robert Patrick, Alana de la Garza, The Scene: Cabe tells off Molina
A Dahne: Cabe rocked this scene where he tells off his new boss when she decides to leave Sylvester in prison to save 3 judges. I love his speech about leaving no one behind and says he will never trust her again. It was a powerful show of loyalty.
THE BLACKLIST, "Marvin Gerard", October 8, 2015, Actors: James Spader, Megan Boone, The Scenes: Red and Liz commandeer the diner & Red and Liz walk outside of Red's safe house
Jimmy Ryan: Red and Liz commandeer the diner. This was such a classic Red scene where the polite yet brutal nature of the man comes across. James Spader was stunning in this scene.
Geo N: Red and Liz walk outside of Red's safe house (one of many I'm sure) which turns out to be an extravagantly luxurious shipping container on a freighter in the middle of the ocean.
A Dahne: I love how being on the run is pulling Lizzie closer to Red and Red talking about how she is his home was really sweet.
THE FLASH, "The Man Who Saved Central City", October 6, 2015, Actors: Tom Cavanagh, John Wesley Shipp and more, The Scenes: Wells' final recording & Henry gets out of prison
Justyna K: I don't think I've ever had a villain like Eobard Thawne on any of my shows. He's such a brilliantly acted, complicated and intriguing character. His motives were never truly obvious and even though he clearly was one of the bad guys, somehow he often ended up saving other people's lives as well. That's exactly what made him a great wild card, a hero's archenemy really worth watching. And even though we said goodbye to "Wells" (at least for now), he still got to shock everyone in the end. He made Barry's dream come true, he recorded his confession of guilt and finally made Henry Allen a free man. The scene with Barry and his father reuniting was beautifully done and Henry's return and welcome party were one of the brightest parts of the episode. But I also wanted to include in the article the moment when Barry and Caitlin watch the recording. It was such a clever twist and chance to start over, to really move forward for the characters and in the craziest surprise of them all, "Wells" did choose to help his team one final time. Kudos to cast & crew. Special shout-out to Grant Gustin for such a wonderful work with all those emotional moments and Tom Cavanagh for making Eobard's character all the more interesting with his always brilliant performance.
Ben L: Barry's father getting out of prison and the scene with them hugging and reuniting.
THE GOLDBERGS, "Jimmy 5 is Alive", October 7, 2015, Actors: Troy Gentile, Wendi McLendon-Covey, The Scene: Barry tells Beverly that he'll always need her
A Dahne: The Goldbergs is my favorite comedy currently airing because of moments like these. They always get the heart right. I loved that Barry and Beverly could have this time together and both actors sold the scene well.
THE GOOD WIFE, "Bond", October 4, 2015, Actors: Cush Jumbo and more
The Scene: Lucca Quinn takes over Alicia's spot in court
Darth Locke: Lucca Quinn takes over Alicia's spot in court and uses an interesting disabled law to win the case!
THE LEFTOVERS, "Axis Mundi", October 4, 2015, Actors: Sandy Garza and more
The Scene: The opening scene (picked by DarkUFO, Geo N and Bradley Adams)
THE PLAYER, "L.A. Takedown", October 8, 2015, Actors: Philip Winchester and more
The Scene: Alex listens to Ginny's voicemail
Prpleight: Alex listens to Ginny's voicemail and realizes there is nothing here that will help him find her.
