-Ratings Breakdown:
Game two of “The World Series” (Royals 7, Mets 1) lifted Fox into the midweek overnight winners circle with an estimated 9.3 rating/15 share in households from 8-11 p.m. Comparably, this was seven percent below the 9.8/16 for game one on Tuesday (and that translated into 14.94 million viewers and a 4.6 rating/16 share in adults 18-49, based on the Live + Same Day data).
Despite facing “The World Series,” consistent was the observation elsewhere. Always addictive “Survivor” on CBS finished second overall in the 8 p.m. hour, with a 5.1/ 8. Comparably, that should be good for about a 2.0-2.1 rating in adults 18-49. Next was veteran “Criminal Minds” at a 5.2/ 8 at 9 p.m., followed by recent entry “Code Black” at a 4.2/ 7 at 10 p.m. (#3). Mirroring year-ago time period occupant “Stalker,” chances are CBS will grant “Code Black” more time. But a full nine-episode backend order is unlikely.
ABC comedies “The Middle” (#2t, 5.1/ 8 at 8 p.m.) and “The Goldbergs” (#4: 4.4/ 7 at 9 p.m.) each got a minor boost from one week earlier. And they led into a repeat of “Modern Family” at a 4.4/ 7 at 9 p.m. (#3), followed by sophomore “black-ish” at a 4.6/ 7 (#3) at 9:30 p.m. All four sitcoms were themed to Halloween. Capping of the night was drama “Nashville,” now in season four, at a typically modest 3.2/ 5 (#4) at 10 p.m.
Elsewhere, NBC’s older skewing drama block of “The Mysteries of Laura” (#4: 4.6/ 7) and two episodes of “Chicago PD” (9 p.m.: #4: 4.3/ 7, 10 p.m.: #2, 4.4/ 7) were at typical overnight levels, And The CW was on par with typical Tuesday levels care of the pairing of “Arrow” (#5: 1.8/ 3) and veteran “Supernatural” (#5: 1.2/ 2).
