    -Ratings Breakdown:
Game one of The World Series (Royals 5, Mets 4) lifted Fox to an easy Tuesday victory with a very estimated 9.8 rating/16 share in the household overnights. But this is subject to change given the extra innings game ended at 1:18 a.m. (and there was a brief outage, resulting in a seven minute delay). One year earlier, game six of The World Series on Fox (Kansas City versus San Francisco) averaged a 9.1/14 in the overnights. That translated into 13.37 million viewers and a 3.5 rating/11 share in adults 18-49, based on the Live + Same Day data.

Despite facing the World Series, the competition was close to one week earlier. Older-skewing CBS opened with “NCIS” at a top-rated 10.5/16 in the overnights at 8 p.m., followed by spin-off “NCIS: New Orleans” (#2: 8.1/12) and freshman drama “Limitless” (#3: 4.8/ 8) from 9-11 p.m. “The Voice” was NBC’s top draw, of course, with a healthy 7.1/11 at 9 p.m. (#3), which led into a respectable 5.4/ 9 for “Chicago Fire” at 10 p.m. (#2). Earlier in the evening on NBC was live variety hour “Best Time Ever with Neil Patrick Harris” at a 3.1/ 5 (#4) from 8-9 p.m. All things considered, the Neil Patrick Harris-hosted hour is by no means a bust.

In series-premiere news, ABC crime solver “Wicked City” was left at the starting gate with an anemic 2.4/ 4 in the overnights at 10 p.m. While it did face game one of The World Series on Fox, there is no reason to believe “Wicked City” will avoid the typical erosion in week two. Lead-in “Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD,” which is magnet for social media, scored a 2.7/ 4 (#4) at 9 p.m. And that led out of ABC sitcoms “The Muppets” (#3: 3.3/ 5), which did not need to return, and sophomore “Fresh Off the Boat” (#4: 2.9/ 4) from 8-9 p.m.

The CW capped off the evening with healthy “The Flash” (#5: 2.6/ 4 at 8 p.m.) into a 1.0/ 2 for also sophomore drama ‘iZombie,” which slipped by 62 percent in the overnights.
