Another season came and went just like that and it was z season full of ups and downs (but mostly downs). I was shocked by some of the events that happened in the episodes leading up to the finale but I wasn’t as shocked as I was in this finale episode. It was a jaw dropping episode and I loved every minute of it. The season 3 finale episode titled, Full Ten Count was in my opinion the best episode yet and left me wanting more.
The best moment in this episode for me was when Bill finally confessed his feelings for Virginia to her. It’s been a long awaited moment and it didn’t go exactly how I expected. Them in a police station and Virginia engaged to Dan. It was the first time that Bill had said that he loved Virginia and she seemed stunned by his confession. All of Bill’s actions seemed to have cost him more them his practice as his admission to Virginia wasn’t enough to make her stay.
I had my guesses on what was going to happen and how things were going to end. All of them included Bill ending up alone and on the verge of losing everything or had lost everything, but I was caught off guard when Bill decided to be the one that ends his marriage to Libby. From research I had learned that in real life that’s what happened between those two but where this show isn’t following the true events to a "T" I thought for sure that Libby would finally confront Bill and leave him. It’s great that I was surprised by this happening but to me it’s not as satisfying as it would have been if Libby would have caught Bill by surprise and been the one to leave him. Though that shock factor was there the writers certainly made up for it with the last minute of the show. Bill gives up on chasing Virginia. It was the typical and not so typical ending. I was even thinking this is so cliche as Bill races to the airport to stop Virginia from getting on the plane with Dan. In the end it ended up being heartbreaking and not so cliché at all.
The way this finale ended a lot of us are probably left wondering what’s going to happen next season. Is Virginia actually going to marry Dan? Another big question I was left pondering was why did Virginia pack some of her belongings in her office? It’s as if she had decided that she had enough and was leaving the practice but I don’t believe that she would do that. Most of these moments we have been expecting and waiting for but knowing that they have happened has left a big mess to be cleaned up, if that’s possible. What did you think of this finale episode of Masters Of Sex?
