Jekyll and Hyde - Mr Hyde - Advance Preview + Dialogue Teasers

It’s the morning after the night before for our young Dr Jekyll this week, well three mornings after the night before to be precise, it takes some time to sleep off the excesses that he experienced during his transformation as Mr Hyde it seems. Although the prolonged rest may have been responsible for his miraculous recovery, his apparent disappearance has also started to concern a number of people in the capital.

Bulstrode, head of MIO, is furious with his agents for allowing him to slip through their fingers so shortly after arriving in the UK. He has plans for the ‘monster’ that is Mr Hyde, and he doesn’t expect his team to be this sloppy when the stakes are high. The news of Tenebrae’s shenanigans in Ceylon has made its way back to London, so the mission has been developed into one that will include a trap for the deranged Captain Dance as well as Robert himself. The Captain succeeds in staying one step ahead thus far however. There’s definitely some brains in that crazy ole head of his…I’m not quite sure what in going on under that shirt of his mind you, but it’s a tad on the creepy side!

Max Utterson and Hills are also uneasy, there’s still the matter of Robert’s inheritance to settle and the lawyer feels the weight of their family’s shared past too. So when he returns to his office, with a curious Lily in tow, the four decide to explore Henry Jekyll’s home for clues to Robert’s past. The old Victorian house is suitably spooky and decrepit for a Halloween weekend episode, and comes complete with dire warnings of apocalyptic doom from a very familiar faced tramp that has made its doorstep his home for the night. They’re going to need more than a psychic beggar with a colander on his head to get to the bottom of this mystery though.

Once again we are taken back to important events from the original novel, and characters, with flashbacks throughout the episode. These work well, seamlessly tying the information together for both us viewers and Robert as he gains more information about his past. Three’s also a brief flashback to a moment in last week’s episode too, where we see one scene from a different prospective, and its consequences. We saw Ravi get knocked down before his parents were interrogated by Captain Dance, but this time round we see what happens from his point of view after he is hit, which includes his escape from the fire and adventures afterwards. I don’t want to tease too much here, but I wouldn’t be surprised if we see him becoming an important piece of the puzzle somewhere down the line.

Mr Hyde airs on Sunday 1st November at 7pm on ITV 1, below are a few dialogue teasers to see you through until then, if you want to have any guesses on who said what I will fill in any correct answers before the episode airs.

“Oh no you don’t. If there’s secrets in that house, I want to uncover them with you”

“Been watching over you, waiting for you to wake up so you can give me some answers”

“It’s Latin, it means shadows. Why?”

“I’m sorry to call by unannounced. You’re my only friend in London”

“You can trust me, it’s just I am having a little bit of difficulty accepting the idea of monsters”

“Not a sausage. Not even a tiny cocktail one”

“And Ravi, tell no-one what I’m about to say to you. You can trust no-one”

“He calls himself Captain Dance. We’ve wanted to destroy him for a very long time”

“Tenebrae are coming. Beware the one-eyed man”

“Ah, I almost forgot. I so hate skeletons in the closet”
