  • 15:20 - Grey's Anatomy - Season 12 - Shonda Rhimes Interview
The Grey’s Anatomy boss tells TVLine that the decision to flash forward an entire year last May immediately following the passing of McDreamy had everything to do with Ellen Pompeo‘s inconsolable widow.

“I couldn’t imagine a world in which Meredith could go a month and be able to speak or breathe — or [even] six months,” Rhimes shares. “I needed time to pass for her to even be in a place where I felt like she could have a conversation.”

Rhimes herself had a tough time grappling with the loss. “It was brutal,” she laments. “I found it incredibly painful to write and incredibly painful to watch. I didn’t go to a single moment of the filming because I was like, ‘I’m just going to stand there and cry like an idiot.'”

  • 15:10 - NCIS - Season 13 - Gary Glasberg Interview
Thanks to Daniel for the heads up.

TV Fanatic: How do you creatively build that tension when we know Gibbs aren’t really going anywhere?

Gary Glasberg: We ended with a scenario where he was getting shot and really injured. We pick up right where we left off and dealing with an injury like that is significant for anyone. And recovering from it and rehabilitating from it and there’s psychological trauma and physical trauma that goes along with that.

That’s what we’re going to see as the season progresses is you’re going to see a change in Gibbs. You’re going to see a physical change and an emotional change and Mark Harmon is really diving into that and making it unique. It’s been exciting to watch and we’ve got some really emotional stuff coming up from him.

The chemistry between Gibbs and his doctor, played by Jon Cryer, is a unique relationship and it’s been fun to watch them connect and rely on each other. I’m excited to have Jon as part of the show this season.

TVF: Is Gibbs going to be more challenged in the physical or emotional sense?

GG: It’s a little bit of both. He’s shot in the chest, he has his knee replaced…it’s an eye opener for him because the Gibbs character literally has to step back and say ‘how many more lives does this cat have?’ How much more can he live through and if he isn’t around to take care of his family, then what happens to his family?

It raises all kinds of questions and people are going to see some different and interesting shifts in Gibbs and he’s going to open up a little more to people more, as well. It’s a slightly different Leroy Jethro Gibbs this season and I will tell you that that carries through to how he dresses, how he presents himself and interesting little quirks that longtime fans are going to pick up on right away.

  • 01:30 - American Horror Story Hotel - EW Interview with Lady Gaga and Matt Bomer
Is it a true foursome if half the sexual participants are dead? This question for the ages is being posed on a hot Monday evening on set. Lady Gaga, making her AHS debut as an enigmatic figure named the Countess, and Matt Bomer, playing her paramour Donovan, are filming their aforementioned tryst. It involves the Countess and Donovan having naked fun with another male-female duo in her hotel penthouse—then slashing their companions’ throats with razor-sharp chain-mail gloves and feasting on their blood.

Next Gaga and Bomer rev up to shoot their respective killing scenes. Bomer, the weaponized black glove on his hand and only a sock covering his junk, goes first, with co-creator and director Ryan Murphy calling out commands like “Stab! Feed!” Gaga sits behind the monitors and watches like a superfan. “Yaasssss, queeeeen! Work that glove,” she yells at the end of a take. Murphy comes back and imitates the superstar’s enthusiastic chant. Laughing, Gaga exclaims, “I’m gonna wet my merkin!” In between scenes, the six-time Grammy winner entertains with stories about everything from her love of the Real Housewives franchise (she watches all of them) to her celebrity pals (she’s currently babysitting Cher’s horse).
