The Muppets - Hostile Makeover - Advance Preview: "Sparks Fly"

The Muppets continues to deliver, the second episode is filled with adorableness, humor, and drama. Hostile Makeover was written by Bill Prady & Bob Kushell. As you all know Miss Piggy is now single following the devastating breakup. During the episode we meet Josh Groban, a talented singer whose more than just his beautiful voice, he has been cast as the one to warm her cold heart. However, if he does, the theme of "change" comes into play, do you change or don't you, to stay happy or to be famous or to be you.

The circumstances in which we meet Josh is fun, I won't spoil it, but its a very funny to see how it comes together. Josh doesn't just make an impression of Miss Piggy but the other Muppets too, because why not? “gender is fluid”.

Miss Piggy and Josh Groban have a very fancy musical scene together. It was beautifully shot and is quite magical. Look forward to that. "Oh shut up, you have a naughty mind."

Another storyline to look forward to, revolves around Fozzie and his dreams. Like any fan, he has a celebrity he's obsessed about, someone who "gives him the feels". I loved Fozzie and his talks to the camera during this episode, he's a perfect represntation of society and the fandom culture that has arisen through TV shows and media. The only difference here, is that Fozzie actually gets to meet one of his idols, however like all "dreams", not everything goes to plan, "souveniors" are involved and it's a fragile situation.

Jay Leno guest stars in this episode but I must say Fozzie shines in his scenes with Jay, "so if people ask, am I allowed to say" I went to your house. His innocence is incredibly heartwarming and hilarious at the same time.

Back at the office, BoBo the Bear tries to help his daughter buy helping her sell some of her cookies at work. However not everyone's quite supportive, “I’m new, I don’t understand the politics around here”.

We get to see Miss Piggy in a softer light during this episode, “This is a television show, not a warm glass of milk”. Miss Piggy's segment ‘Up Late with Miss Piggy’ continues to be funny, let’s just say she needs to do a bit of homework on her guests profession… Will she ever learn, tune in and find out.

Laurence Fishburne also guest stars and has a bit of a run in with a Muppet. Let's just say his character's response is very much reminiscent of his Black-ish character, at least he was to me. This scene makes me hope other ABC actors who film on the same stage/lot as The Muppets can appear on the show, as Laurence Fishburne does. Let me know in the comments who would you like to guest star, I'd like to see more of Eden Sher and Constance Wu, whom we saw a bit of in the early promos for the show. Actually, I would love to see Lana Parilla but in the persona of the Evil Queen meet Miss Piggy on set.

We also get a great cameo from a Back to the Future star who Kermit is a major fan of. He's gets quite speechless at this encounter. I wasn't a fan of Denise and can tell you she is not in the episode.

Tune in Tuesday at 8|7c on ABC! This show is everything I've wanted and more, it's nostalgic, funny, heartwarming and makes your soul feel young again, if only the episodes were longer. I'm loving the show, what about you, feel free to share your thoughts and hopes for the show in the comments with me.
