Scene Of The Week - September 6, 2015 + POLL

Sep 6, 2015

A weekly feature in which we're trying to find the most compelling, best acted, written, directed and just generally great, memorable scenes that we've seen in past seven days on TV.

DOMINION, "The Seed of Evil", September 3, 2015, Actors: Christopher Egan and more, The Scene: Alex, Michael and Noma get back to Vega
Justyna K:
It's about time! There were many great scenes in the episode, some very emotional ones and beautifully acted (Gabriel breaking down, Claire telling Alex about the baby, etc.) but I wanted to go with the moment when everyone finally gets back to Vega. I've been waiting for that since the beginning of the season as I'm always glad to see all the characters reunited and facing the new dangers together. Everyone's reactions alone, happiness, relief, shock, were really well done. Also, I'd love to see what else Alex can do, especially now when he's back home. His interactions with Michael and Noma are brilliant, but I'm excited to see what's next for everyone. Kudos!

MASTERS OF SEX, "Surrogates", August 30, 2015, Actors: Michael Sheen, Emily Kinney, The Scene: Bill interviews Nora Everett
Jimmy Ryan:
Bill interviews Nora Everett, a young woman who had tried to volunteer to participate in one of Bill's studies for months. Nora was incredibly forward-thinking, and had closely followed Bill and Virginia's research over the years. As she talked about her experiences with horses when she was 12, you could see an enormous weight lift off Bill's shoulders as he realized there was someone sitting in front of him who completely understood and respected what he had been trying to do. Michael Sheen did an stunning job here. One of the best scenes of the season for sure.

MISTRESSES, "Goodbye Girl", September 3, 2015, Actors: Rochelle Aytes, Rob Mayes
The Scene: April and Marc admit their feelings for each other
Klutzy girl:
The scene was adorable and I'm thrilled they're finally together since I've been shipping them all season.

MR. ROBOT, "eps1.9_zer0-day.avi", September 2, 2015, Actors: Rami Malek and more
The Scene: The final scene
Jimmy Ryan:
Words cannot describe how good it was.

RIZZOLI AND ISLES, "5:26", September 1, 2015, Actors: Angie Harmon and more
The Scene: The final scene
Donna Chidley:
Maura is kidnapped. We are left with an image of Jane calling Maura's phone as it lies on the ground where it was dropped in the struggle.

SCREAM, "Revelations", September 1, 2015, Actor: Amelia Rose Blaire, The Scene: The killer is revealed
Diana Mack:
The killer reveals its face: it's Piper, the journalist, which is also Emma's half sister. I almost saw that coming but I wasn't sure of Piper being the serial killer. Anyway, I can't wait to see what's next for season 2! A great ending to remind Wes Craven's original Scream. May he rest in peace.

THE LAST SHIP, "Cry Havoc", August 30, 2015, Actors: Eric Dane and more, The Scene: The duel between the sub and the Nathan James
Jimmy Ryan:
This was a great penultimate episode across the board and sets up an epic season finale on Sunday night. My scene of the week from this week's episode was the long duel the sub and the Nathan James had when both realized they were directly above and below each other. The resulting duel was intense, high octane, and well directed. And the end outcome wasn't too shabby either.

THE WHISPERS, "Game Over", August 31, 2015, Actors: Lily Rabe and more, The Scene: Claire and the kids are taken
Justyna K:
It was a clever twist. There was no attack and what the aliens really wanted were the children. I like the potential of this story, I just wish we didn't end it on a cliffhanger as I hate when the show gets interrupted and we don't have any conclusion for it. The scene itself, however, with all the kids (and Claire!) being taken was really well done. Intense, emotional and all the actors did a great job there. After last week's rescue, I found it especially hard to watch when Wes didn't make it in time to save Minx just as Claire took Henry's place, fading away. All that desperate screaming made the moment even more painful, yet such a powerful one. Good season finale for a good show. Would love to get a follow-up. Kudos to all the cast & crew for their work!
