NCIS: New Orleans - Sic Semper Tyranis (Season Premiere) - Advance Preview and Teasers
Sep 21, 2015
DV NCIS: New Orleans ReviewsNCIS: New Orleans was the most-watched freshman show of the 2014-15 TV season. This Tuesday, the show returns with its second season. CBS has sent us a screener of the season premiere, so here's an exclusive preview and some teasers of the episode.
The episode begins with a military convoy being attacked by an IED, leaving two people dead. The subsequent investigation reveals that the convoy wasn't the target, but rather the missile they were transporting. That missile is now missing, and the NCIS team will have to find it before it's too late. It soon becomes clear that stealing the missile wasn't just a one-man operation, but in fact, there's a specific group behind it. In order to retrieve the weapon of destruction, Pride goes undercover in that group. However, it turns out the group already has plans to launch the missile and use it to sink a U.S. Navy ship. The team must prevent the attack and also make sure that Pride returns safely.
The season premiere is a very strong start to the next season and I also see it as an improvement from season 1. The episode moves at a quick pace, but also allows for various character moments in-between the action. The storyline is exciting and there is a good build-up of the tension throughout the episode. There are hints that the storyline is far from over when the episode ends, and I must say I'm pretty intrigued to see how it continues. If the writers can keep up with the quality of the season premiere, this season promises to be a good one.
A few other teasers from "Sic Semper Tyranis":
-Shalita Grant and Daryl Mitchell have both been promoted to series regular. While Mitchell's Patton Plame has been around quite a few times last season, Grant's Sonja Percy kind of changes the team dynamics. For the good, that is.
-We see some photos from a young Brody that seem to indicate a future storyline.
-It is mentioned that LaSalle is still grieving over the death of his girlfriend Savannah.
-Pride's divorce is finalized and that inadvertently lands him with a big sum of money. What will he do with that?
-Grammy Award-Winning Artist Dr. John guest stars in this episode and also performs.
-The title refers to the words John Wilkes Booth supposedly shouted after assassinating President Abraham Lincoln. Make of that what you will.
Below is a promo for season 2. You can watch the premiere Tuesday, September 22 at 9/8c on CBS immediately following NCIS.
