This weeks episode covers a very important issue. An issue that has been in the media a lot lately. Being transgrender these days is starting to be more open than it has in the past. But teens have always had it tough when it came down to being different. Mainly because when you're a teenager your brain isn't developed to make wise decisions.
This episode covers a group of teenage boys that run into a transgrender girl, Avery in the park. They start bullying her and one thing adds to another, until Avery ends up falling off the bridge. Fear strikes into the boys and rest of the witness so everyone takes off, leaving only an elderly couple to talk to the detectives.
Lucky Avery survived the fall with only minor injures. When the detectives were able to track down the three boys who were bullying Avery, in which two of the boys thought it was a joke. They couldn't understand why anybody would want to dress up like a girl, if they weren't a girl. Unfortunately that's how it is sometimes, if people don't understand something, they become angry or make fun of the person. In return that person becomes even more of an outsider.
When the third boy who pushed Avery off the bridge was brought in for question, he on the other hand felt horrible. Even though at the time he was the ringleader, after he saw Avery on the ground, he got scared. He knew the pain that he has caused Avery's family, because he also lost a family member to a shooting. So when he got caught he did everything he could to apologize to Avery, but unfortunately that wasn't enough to the DA.
I really hope you all watch this episode, because it's covers important issues that goes on way too much these days. Being a teenager is hard enough...
