Hey all,
The first round is over and done with, and we've had multiple big-name shows knocked out already.
The first poll of the entire competition saw The Mentalist exit at the hands of Game of Thrones in a contest that didn't necessarily shock, but did see a serious contender for the title fall at the first hurdle. Beauty and the Beast, two-time winner of the Episode Competition, was taken out by Arrow. LOST, the show that resulted in this site existing, was knocked out by Hannibal. The Walking Dead crashed out at the hands of The Musketeers. The X-Files lost to Supernatural - again, not that shocking as Supernatural is a three-time champion here, but another big show going out. Breaking Bad once again failed in its first battle, losing to Castle. And finally, Once Upon a Time was taken down by Major Crimes.
We lost five seeded shows in round one - Beauty and the Beast, LOST, The Borgias, Forever and Breaking Bad. That sets things up really nicely for the second half of the competition. A lot of shows have the opportunity to do well with some big names already out, and I for one cannot wait to see what happens.
So, let's move onto the start of the second round!
Game of Thrones starts us off today, as it faces Sense8. As I mentioned, the HBO fantasy took out The Mentalist in the first round while Sense8 took down Stargate SG-1. We then move on as Fringe takes on Chuck. The FOX drama beat The Closer in round one while Chuck knocked out Grey's Anatomy.
A reminder of the rules:
1) Two shows will go into battle in a poll, where after exactly 24 hours, the leading show will win the battle and will progress into the next round.
2) Vote for your favourite, spread the word with your friends & fans.
3) To vote, login with either your Facebook, Twitter or Google+ profile. If you don't want to use any of those, you can go direct to Opinion Stage and get an account to vote.
4) Comment on what you voted for on in the comments below.
5) Have fun. This is a friendly & competitive competition. Please do not start attacking other fans or fangroups in the comments, because this really isn't what this competition is about.
