  • 05:00 - MOVIES: Ice Age 5 - Titled Ice Age: Collision Course Gets New Release Date
Twentieth Century Fox has moved Ice Age: Collision Course, the newly christened fifth chapter of its Blue Sky animated franchise, from July 15 to July 22, 2016.

This will shift Sid, Manny, Ellie and company off their previous collision course with Sony’s Ghostbusters and two other pictures, the musical La La Land from Lionsgate and The Lake from EuropaCorp.

For the time being, Ice Age: Collision Course is sharing its new date with one other title, Warner Bros’ King Arthur. Denis Leary, Ray Romano, Queen Latifah, John Leguizamo and the rest of the gang are back for this go-round, and Collision Course is directed by Mike Thurmeier and Galen T. Chu.

  • 05:00 - The Bastard Executioner - Ed Sheeran First Appearing in Episode 4 + TCA Teasers

Viewers won’t need to wait long to meet Ed Sheeran’s character Sir Cormac on “The Bastard Executioner.”

Speaking with Zap2it at the 2015 summer TV press tour, executive producer Paris Barclay revealed Sheeran shows up in episode 4. Since the premiere is two hours long, that means Sir Cormac arrives in the third week “The Bastard Executioner” is on the air.

“Ed Sheeran is playing a character who is nothing like the real Ed Sheeran,” Barclay says. “He is an actor, he has acted before. I know people don’t really know that about him, but he does have a facility. What Kurt [Sutter] has created is something that Ed Sheeran the actor can do, not Ed Sheeran the singer — he does not sing in this part.

“It is nothing to do with his actual persona; in fact, the very first scene that he is introduced is about as far away from beautiful boy singer as possible, but it’s right in the wheelhouse of Ed Sheeran the actor.”

  • 05:00 - ABC Buys Latino Family Soap Produced By Salma Hayek & Michael McDonald
ABC has put in development a drama project executive produced by Salma Hayek and Michael McDonald (American Crime) through ABC Studios.

Written by Diego Gutierrez(From Dusk Till Dawn: The Series), the untitled project is described as a soapy ensemble drama about the heirs to a wealthy Mexican conglomerate, who are in the throes of a battle for its future when they all become suspects in the murder of their father. Тhe drama reflects some personal experiences for Gutierrez who was born and raised in a well-to-do family in Mexico City before attending Wesleyan University and making a life and career for himself in Los Angeles. His family is still in Mexico, with him traveling back and forth. The story on the show also spans Mexico City and Los Angeles.

  • 05:00 - ABC’s Johnny Knoxville Comedy Pilot Extends Actors, Eyes Possible Redo
I hear ABC Studios has extended the options on four actors from its untitled Johnny Knoxville comedy pilot: David Koechner, Julie Ann Emery, Brad Carter and Lavell Crawford. Knoxville, on whose life the project is based, will continue as narrator. I hear the idea is to shoot another pilot, possibly after some tweaks.

Narrated by Knoxville and based on his life, the comedy follows the exploits of 12-year-old Johnny navigating the “outlaw culture” of his family and small hometown of Knoxville, TN, and documents the childhood experiences that inspired him to become one of the greatest pranksters of a generation. Koechner and Emery play Johnny’s parents; Carter plays “Jukebox” Johnson Jr, an employee of his father Ray’s tire shop; Crawford plays Big Stevie.

  • 04:15 - The Patriot - Amazon Pilot - Michael Dorman & Kathleen Munroe Cast as Male & Female Lead
Michael Dorman (The Water Diviner, Wonderland) and Resurrection‘s Kathleen Munroe have been cast as male and female leads in Amazon pilot The Patriot, from The Pursuit of Happyness‘ Steve Conrad.

The comedic thriller/family dramedy centers on not-quite-master spy John Allerton (Dorman), the son of Tom Allerton, a Director of Intelligence with the State Department. John’s career as a spy working under Non Official Cover (NOC) is plagued by one little detail: he’s got a government job, and in the real world, everyone in the Federal Government screws up. John has one ally when he goes into the field to stop Iran from getting a short-range nuclear weapon: his older brother Congressman Edward Allerton, who always has his back. Munroe plays Alice, John’s wife and an elementary school teacher who is forced to hold down the fort when her husband is away for long periods of time.

He joins a cast that includes Michael Dorman (The Water Diviner) as John Allerton and Kurtwood Smith (That '70s Show) as an adversarial character named Mr. Claret.

Thanks to Chris for the heads up.

There’s a new member of the Pritchett family. Jeremy Maguire has joined Modern Family Season 7 in a recasting for the role of Fulgencio “Joe” Pritchett.

His onscreen mom Sofia Vergara (Gloria) revealed the identity of the newest cast member in an instagram post this morning. The role has been played for the past two seasons by Pierce Wallace. Deadline’s sister pub TVLine reported last month that producers were going with a slightly older actor to play Joe and Gloria’s newly “rough and tumble” son.
