In a competitive situation, a single-camera comedy from It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia co-executive producers John Chernin and Dave Chernin has landed at Fox with a script commitment plus penalty. The pitch was taken directly to the networks by the Chernin brothers and 3 Arts. With Fox on board, the project has now been set up at 20th Century Fox TV.

Written by the Chernins (that’s the two of them in one of their first red carpet appearances), the untitled comedy has a fish-out-of-water theme. It centers on a coarse, blue-collar woman who moves to affluent Greenwich, CT to raise the outrageously spoiled kids of her wealthy sister and brother-in-law, who have fled the country to avoid prosecution for illegal activities. John Chernin and Dave Chernin executive produce with 3 Arts’ Oly Obst and Nicholas Frenkel.

  • 22:05 - Person of Interest - Seasons 1-4 - Netflix release date announced
Yes, you can finally watch the best science fiction show on network TV, on Netflix. Person of Interest has been mind-blowingly great for the past four seasons, but this show about artificial intelligence hasn’t found the geeky audience it deserves. But that’s all about to change.

We’re excited to be the ones to break the news, exclusively at io9—Netflix will have the first three seasons of Person of Interest starting Sept. 1, and the fourth season on Sept. 22. (The deal was announced ages ago, but there was no start date for the show becoming available, until now.)

This news means that everyone will have a decent shot at being caught up on Person of Interest before the show’s fifth season airs sometime in 2016. (And we’re still hoping that season won’t be the show’s last—if enough people become fans between now and then.)
