HBO’s Westworld is adding some intriguing new roles. The sci-fi drama has cast four actors after actress Miranda Otto departed the project. The Lord of the Rings actress was part of the show’s star-filled pilot, but quietly left the series as producers re-conceived the role. She’s since landed a role in the upcoming fifth season of Showtime’s Homeland.
Westworld is adding Clifton Collins, Jr. (Pacific Rim), Eion Bailey (Fight Club), Jimmi Simpson (House of Cards) and Demark actress Sidse Babbett Knudsen (Almost Perfect).
Interestingly, two of the new character descriptions strongly resemble the original 1973 Westworld film’s protagonists. Here are the official new character descriptions:
Eion Bailey as Logan, a “louche bachelor and veteran Westworld guest. His hedonistic romp through Westworld is equally motivated by self-indulgence and a desire to help his friend, William.”

Oh Eion! YaY!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteCan't wait.
ReplyDeleteSad to hear Otto left, but I'm still excited for the series!
ReplyDeleteMaybe more so if I'm honest since I like all four of the new actors added. Especially Clifton Collins, Jr He's one of those actors most people (myself included) never think of when mentioning great actors, but he continually nails role after role no matter the project he's in. One seriously underrated actor!
Very sad to hear that Miranda Otto's departed. She was a huge pull for me. Hopefully she'll have great material on Homeland.
ReplyDeleteThey've added some great new members to the cast. Let's hope the show lives up to its star-studded cast.
Too bad about MO, but not gonna lie. The new additions are great. Very happy for Eion Baily and Clifton Collins Jr.!!!
ReplyDeleteAlso cool to see homage from the film(s)!! Seriously can't wait! I hope it's not late 2016...
