Great cast but I'm unsold on the concept. The potential to be amazing is there, but it could also be a huge disaster. If they aren't able to interweave all of the potential characters/stories, it'll derail quickly.
I think both Nolan and Abrams have been rather interested in "consciousnesses" itself for some time, as the non Batman works are more psychological and tragically dark (say for Interstellar that had a pro-humanism ending), and then we have smoke monster (LOST), nanites (Revolution), The Machine/Samaritan (Person of Interest), Shape-shifters and trading consciousnesses (Fringe),and actual androids (Almost Human), so I think this is the perfect place for both of them to go! Plus I think it's nice to see Michael Crichton's work to get revived and fleshed out for modern audiences.
Don't think anyone here posted this, here's a description of the comic con exclusive footage shown to fans from IGN.
The footage opens with a young woman sitting motionless in a chair, limbs a bit askew. A voice says "Bring her back online," as the camera slowly zooms in closer. By the time the scene ends, we're watching a fly crawl across her eyeball while she remains motionless. The voice asks "Have you ever questioned the nature of your reality?"
Notable is the fact that Strauss' "Blue Danube Waltz" plays throughout, indicative of its famous use in Kubrick's 2001: A Space Odyssey.
After the scene with the woman, the music skips to a faster part of the Waltz as a quick montage of imagery featuring the series stars and a ton of Wild West imagery closes us out.
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.

Been waiting for this since it was announced with that superb cast! Already looks awesome with those photos. Can't wait for the trailer!!!
ReplyDeletePics look awesome. Can't wait to see footage. I just hope they do other worlds, too. I loved Romanworld and Medievalworld.
ReplyDeleteOMG that gif
ReplyDeleteEpic, hoping that footage gets released.
ReplyDeleteThe teaser apparently had this line from Anthony Hopkins' character, Dr. Robert Ford:
ReplyDelete'You can’t play God without being acquainted with the devil.'
It'll probably be another 6+ more months until this is out, but I don't mind waiting. This shit is the bomb!
Apparently, the trailer shown at SDCC will not be released online.
ReplyDeleteLOL!!!
ReplyDeleteGah!! In need of the trailer now! Feels like forever since we heard about this and we still have months to go...... :(
