I really did like Farscape which I voted for. Even though there isn't an add your own option- I would definitely also vote for Firefly! just my two cents ;)
Science Fiction is a television staple since the beginning of time. Some of the better series have been Sci-FI shows and so I thought for tonight’s list I’d try to put together the top 10 http://bit.ly/1R1sOFh
How are Xena and Hercules on this list, but not Firefly, Battlestar Galactica, and Fringe? The way I figured, Xena and Hercules fall on the Fantasy genre. Am I wrong?
I was a Stargate Atlantis fan, really miss that show. Helix, Battlestar Galactica. I don't know about Enterprise, but I would like another Star Trek show.
From this list Stargate SG1 and Stargate Universe.
Other: Fringe. Even tho it had an ending BR and Joel Wyman had a seven year plan which i would have loved to have seen. I miss Walter and the rest of the scooby gang. :(
They would need a whole new cast but i would like to see another series/movie for Babylon 5.
What an insult to us crazily, obsessed Browncoats that Firefly is not up there! The three shows I miss the most - Terminator: SCC, Firefly, and Stargate Universe. Voted for the latter obviously.
None, i wish to say all, but i like them the way they are. And since they are rebooting the Stargate movies i will wait to see if they make a good job.
Xena and Hercules also had a proper ending, even if most fans were totally upset with Xena's. And personally, even if they had an ending, I would like to see Xena back.
I would watch without a doubt; there are countless of places they could go from where they left of. But they also ended in such a great manner that I'm fine with it not being brought back.
Oddly enough, I didn't watch any of these shows though i do say "what the frak?" But why is Firefly not up here?! Seriously y'all, it's FIREFLY, Nathan Fillion...Joss Whedo? Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles was another show that I unknowingly can in towards the end then nearly cried when I found out there weren't more. Then ABC Family replaced Kyle XY with Secret Life of an American Teenager? Come on, you can't be in the middle of the season, have the suspicious guy from Latnok tell Kyle he's is older brother, then BOOM (drop the mic) end of show!! Even to this day I don't watch ABC Family unless it's the holiday season; I still gotta get my Hocus Pocus on.
out of the ones that I've seen, I'd probably vote for SGA, I started but lost interest in SGU. FIrefly would be definitely be a write in, and one old series that I'd love to see come back if just to get a definitive close was the old Fox scifi series, Space: Above and Beyond
From this list, I would pick Stargate Atlantis and Stargate Universe as neither show was given a proper ending. I consider Xena and Hercules to be fantasy, not sci-fi. As for the others on the list, I wish they could get rid of the last two seasons of the original Stargate, and I just never could get into Enterprise, but would like a new Star Trek series, please. Have only seen some of Farscape, but agree with the others who included Firefly.
Definitely Stargate, any one of them as long as there is Daniel Jackson. I love their kind of science fiction with ships, travel to faraway worlds and plenty of aliens.
It started really well and then it got really muddled, I'll never understand why they built such animosity between the 2 main characters. Still, I would love to see another season where they wake up.
why are hercules/xena on the list? but id go for sliders remake even though the last two seasons were cringe worthy material, though it's not mentioned.
Did you love the nuts protest when Jericho cancelled the first time? I did, it was hilarious and effective since they brought it back long enough to give it a finish.
Spectacular Spider-Man was fantastic!!! Then Sony lost it's rights to Marvels who produced the new Amazing Spiderman!! I couldn't even make it past the first 7 minutes of that one. A Dark Angel remake would be good too as long as they dont go down the path the writers did in the second season.
Dark Angel Tru Calling FlashFoward Aquaman Secret Circle BSG- But only if they continue from where they left off. Journeyman New Amsterdam Young Justice Warehouse 13 Kyle XY Secret World of Max Hex
Not yet. But it SG1 got great over the seasons and it has the same feel to it. It is focusing more on the characters than the univers. Throw in a bit of Andromeda and Farscape and tada. But it's no wonder it feels SG like it's from the same producers.
I disliked Revolution's comic ending, so I'm not sure if I would ever like to see that ending on screen (seriously, it's like everybody dies, or moves on, and Charlie is back to where she started--it's kind of reminiscent to the Dark Tower and I kind of think Kripke was listening to Poison's Every Rose Has It's Thorn on repeat when writting)
But I totally forgot about Flash Forward and V, both I think could have gone a long way, if given more of chance.
I'd love to see a follow up that delves more deeply into quantum physics, I loved it whenever they did. Sense8 actually made me want to rewatch Fringe because it seems like it could have been a plot on that show.
Plus current quantum physics really blurs the lines of how most people view reality with possibilities that almost seem supernatural, something I thought Fringe was always good at.
I'd love a Lost limited run spinoff that answered some of the questions about the Island. I do think the writers made the wisest decision about not pushing the characters to the side to answer them in the series proper, as I liked that we got some answers but nothing concrete...it keeps the Island a mysterious and magical place. But a spinoff with different characters that could delve into them would be nice.
I've read it, and the setting is insanely different from the show, so there weren't answers there since the tv adaption strayed so much from the book. Still, it was a great read, so I'm happy I got to it.
None from this list. I'd like to see Roswell restarted. I hated season 3. Too much Isabelle And her crappy marriage. Idk. I think with a good cast they could do it.
We could also mention: Babylon 5, Battlestar Galactica, Quantum Leap, Automan, Eureka, Warehouse 13, UFO, Space 1999, Bionic Woman, Buck Rogers in the 25th Century, Defying Gravity, Earth 2, Earth, Final Conflict and many others ;-)
I haven't seen Revolution's comics, not really much into comics (which is ironic considering the amount of comic book based shows I watch lol), but I enjoyed the show very much so I would like it back regardless of what the ending was.
I would actually put Flashforward at the bottom of this list of 4. I really enjoyed it, especially the premise, but it had many execution faults imo. There is a lot of potential so I would love to see the concept tried out again but the execution and the acting really had to be improved, even if I still enjoyed the show (it is one of those cases in which the premise is so cool that I can look past a lot of the rest and still enjoy it).
It just has a very anti-progress meaningless ending. Kind of like it didn't really matter what these characters went through together kind of thing, not willing to consider anything outside of fighting for fighting's sake' and I can't stomach stuff like that and season two mid-season started to preach the same idea: repeats and meaningless misadventure. And the show would of ended the same way, because Kripke and his writing staff were behind the comics. For me it was easier to take this way, but to visually see the money spent, would have been way more irritating for me :p
I 100% agree. When it said cancelled and/or "ended" I knew they were including all those hear shows that knew they were ending and had closure but could have benefited from more seasons.
mhhm I thought I answered your question. It is from the same people who made SG Atlantis. So it has a vibe of SG to it, a bit of Andromeda too. It's more about the characters and their dynamics than the world creating (atm). It is not great yet, but surely has the feeling of getting there. When I see reruns of SG1 first episodes I am surprised at how great it became.
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
I liked Stargate Atlantis a lot and also Andromeda :D
ReplyDeleteI really did like Farscape which I voted for.
ReplyDeleteEven though there isn't an add your own option- I would definitely also vote for Firefly! just my two cents ;)
Xena of course!
ReplyDeleteFirefly. How is that not on the list?!?!
ReplyDeleteOut of these, I'd die to see again SG1, but come on, where is BSG???
ReplyDeleteScience Fiction is a television staple since the beginning of time. Some of the better series have been Sci-FI shows and so I thought for tonight’s list I’d try to put together the top 10 http://bit.ly/1R1sOFh
ReplyDeleteStargate Universe
ReplyDeleteFRINGE! #EndlessImpossibilites
ReplyDeleteStrange to not see Firefly on this list.
ReplyDeleteHappy Endings.
ReplyDeleteOdyssey 5. No question.
ReplyDeleteHow are Xena and Hercules on this list, but not Firefly, Battlestar Galactica, and Fringe? The way I figured, Xena and Hercules fall on the Fantasy genre. Am I wrong?
ReplyDeleteJericho, Terminator:Sarah Conner Chronicles, Alcatraz, Merlin, Roswell.
ReplyDeleteI was a Stargate Atlantis fan, really miss that show. Helix, Battlestar Galactica. I don't know about Enterprise, but I would like another Star Trek show.
ReplyDeleteI recently re-watched Terminator: Sarah Conner Chronicles. I miss this show.
ReplyDeleteBSG and Fringe had proprer endings, they werent really cancelled so
ReplyDeleteStargate Universe
ReplyDeleteYeah, no, I understand it too, but the poll says 'cancelled/ended' that's why I mentioned them.
ReplyDeleteFrom this list Stargate SG1 and Stargate Universe.
ReplyDeleteOther: Fringe. Even tho it had an ending BR and Joel Wyman had a seven year plan which i would have loved to have seen. I miss Walter and the rest of the scooby gang. :(
They would need a whole new cast but i would like to see another series/movie for Babylon 5.
Definitely a good series!
ReplyDeleteLast time i tweeted with Rocke O' Bannon he said they were working on a Farscape movie.
ReplyDeleteWhat an insult to us crazily, obsessed Browncoats that Firefly is not up there! The three shows I miss the most - Terminator: SCC, Firefly, and Stargate Universe. Voted for the latter obviously.
ReplyDeleteStargate SG-1 but with Jack O'Neil in charge
ReplyDeleteI didn't watch any of the listed above shows so none of those. I would say Revolution, V, Flashforward and Terra Nova
ReplyDeleteThat is so awesome! Thanks for the info!
ReplyDeleteI would vote Firefly too if Serenity hadn't been a thing...I love Wash...
ReplyDeleteSLIDERS!!!
ReplyDeleteFlashforward
ReplyDeleteStar Trek Enterprise!!
ReplyDeleteFirefly and V
ReplyDeleteI'd say all SG shows, but I found my replacement in Dark Matter.
ReplyDeleteThis poll is in serious need of an "other" option. I'd be all over a Fringe movie or miniseries.
ReplyDeleteThis poll is in serious need of an "other" option. I'd be all over a Fringe movie or miniseries. I really miss that show.
ReplyDeleteXena and Farscape on the list Other: Firefly and Terminator: Sarah Conner Chronicles
ReplyDeleteO'Neill with two LL's. As Jack would always say!
ReplyDeleteYour welcome!
ReplyDeleteStargate Sg-1 and Farscape for me. They are two of my favorite sci-fi shows of all time.
ReplyDeleteI'd second that!
ReplyDeleteXena farscape the most but i would take em all minus enterprise
ReplyDeleteNone, i wish to say all, but i like them the way they are. And since they are rebooting the Stargate movies i will wait to see if they make a good job.
ReplyDeleteXena all the way man! XENA! And Witches of East End too, even if it's not in the choices.
ReplyDeleteXena and Hercules also had a proper ending, even if most fans were totally upset with Xena's. And personally, even if they had an ending, I would like to see Xena back.
ReplyDeleteFlashfoward, Terra Nova, Jericho,
ReplyDeleteFlashforward; always wanted to know what happens on 2016.
ReplyDeleteRevolution wrapped with the comics, so it wouldn't be a priority for me. I never really liked Terra Nova and I have let go of V.
ReplyDeleteBut Flashforward... man, before I got into Fringe it was my favorite drama. If it was to be revived, I'd watched the second it premieres
I so dearly miss that show. It was so strong and so deeply human. So sad people bailed on it :(
ReplyDeleteMy beloved Farscape of course!
ReplyDeleteI would watch without a doubt; there are countless of places they could go from where they left of. But they also ended in such a great manner that I'm fine with it not being brought back.
ReplyDeleteI'd be up for a movie though
Dark Angel
ReplyDeleteJohn Doe
Freakylinks
Harsh Realm
First Wave
Oddly enough, I didn't watch any of these shows though i do say "what the frak?" But why is Firefly not up here?! Seriously y'all, it's FIREFLY, Nathan Fillion...Joss Whedo? ReplyDeleteHélix and any Star Trek show
ReplyDeleteFIREFLY!!!!
ReplyDeleteFarscape & Firefly

ReplyDeleteDark Angel
ReplyDeleteSurprised Firefly ain't an option. Firefly.
ReplyDeleteWell then Zombie Wash he still plays with dinosaurs that curse sudden but inevitable betrayals.
ReplyDeleteI know, right? Firefly should be here. It's the acclaimed cult sci-fi show that was f*cked by the network.
ReplyDeleteAlmost Human
ReplyDeleteDark Angel! Lol Give me some Max/Alec!
ReplyDeleteDid you read the book? I never watched the show but I've read it. Maybe it gave some answers ;)
ReplyDeletei had the same reaction... the one and only
ReplyDeleteXena
ReplyDeleteDefinitely Stargate, any one of them as long as there is Daniel Jackson.
ReplyDeleteI love their kind of science fiction with ships, travel to faraway worlds and plenty of aliens.
It started really well and then it got really muddled, I'll never understand why they built such animosity between the 2 main characters. Still, I would love to see another season where they wake up.
ReplyDeleteWalter is the best.
ReplyDeleteOh yes, Revolution! I miss that show so much.
ReplyDeleteReally, it's that good?
ReplyDeleteI couldn't believe it when it was cancelled, it had amazing potential.
ReplyDeletewhy are hercules/xena on the list? but id go for sliders remake even though the last two seasons were cringe worthy material, though it's not mentioned.
ReplyDeletewould not even consider science fiction myself.
ReplyDeleteI agree that Firefly should have been on the list.
ReplyDeleteThey have tried to tweak BSG so many times and failed I doubt it would ever get a following if they tried again.
ReplyDeleteDid you love the nuts protest when Jericho cancelled the first time? I did, it was hilarious and effective since they brought it back long enough to give it a finish.
ReplyDeleteAlmost Human, Dark Angel, Terra Nova, and Jericho.
ReplyDeleteStargate Universe, definitely, and Andromeda if they reboot it to Robert Hewitt Wolfe's original plan.
ReplyDeleteSpectacular Spider-Man was fantastic!!! Then Sony lost it's rights to Marvels who produced the new Amazing Spiderman!! I couldn't even make it past the first 7 minutes of that one. A Dark Angel remake would be good too as long as they dont go down the path the writers did in the second season.
ReplyDeleteDark Angel
ReplyDeleteTru Calling
FlashFoward
Aquaman
Secret Circle
BSG- But only if they continue from where they left off.
Journeyman
New Amsterdam
Young Justice
Warehouse 13
Kyle XY
Secret World of Max
Hex
Flash Forward.
ReplyDeleteThey certainly are more belonging in the supernatural genre but I consider them scifi as well.
ReplyDeleteXena I'd like to see what Gabby would do and if Xena would advise her from the sky trough visions.
ReplyDelete+1000 on this. I loved that show!
ReplyDeleteHe sure is. :)
ReplyDeleteAnother show i forgot to mention, Almost Human. It was snatched away from us much too early.
ReplyDeleteNot yet. But it SG1 got great over the seasons and it has the same feel to it. It is focusing more on the characters than the univers. Throw in a bit of Andromeda and Farscape and tada. But it's no wonder it feels SG like it's from the same producers.
ReplyDeleteFricking FOX!! I was really beginning to enjoy the show.
ReplyDeleteFirefly, Terminator: Sarah Connor Chronicles and Almost Human.
ReplyDeleteThe new cartoon is Ultimate-Spiderman, The Amazing Spiderman was the recent movie and its sequel.
ReplyDeleteI'd prefer a continuation from Season 2 of Dark Angel.
On the list: Enterprise (and I have never seen Farscape, but always here good things)
ReplyDeleteNot on the List:
Alcatraz
Almost Human
Caprica
High Moon
I disliked Revolution's comic ending, so I'm not sure if I would ever like to see that ending on screen (seriously, it's like everybody dies, or moves on, and Charlie is back to where she started--it's kind of reminiscent to the Dark Tower and I kind of think Kripke was listening to Poison's Every Rose Has It's Thorn on repeat when writting)
ReplyDeleteBut I totally forgot about Flash Forward and V, both I think could have gone a long way, if given more of chance.
They are hard fantasy for sure. Not even slightly sci-fi.
ReplyDeleteI'd love to see a follow up that delves more deeply into quantum physics, I loved it whenever they did. Sense8 actually made me want to rewatch Fringe because it seems like it could have been a plot on that show.
ReplyDeletePlus current quantum physics really blurs the lines of how most people view reality with possibilities that almost seem supernatural, something I thought Fringe was always good at.
Meh I think it would have had the same fate even if they'd aired the episodes in order, it was an expensive sci-fi show on Fridays.
ReplyDeleteI'd love a Lost limited run spinoff that answered some of the questions about the Island. I do think the writers made the wisest decision about not pushing the characters to the side to answer them in the series proper, as I liked that we got some answers but nothing concrete...it keeps the Island a mysterious and magical place. But a spinoff with different characters that could delve into them would be nice.
ReplyDeleteI would like for most of those shows to come back! but choosing one, it has to be SGU, I'm not over that cliffhanger of an ending.
ReplyDeleteF A R S C A P E ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! !
ReplyDeleteNo matter what it was still f*cked by the network.Being on Fridays was a part of that. We'll never know since FOX screwed it before it even aired.
ReplyDeleteoh come on these are all old. it has to be....ALMOST HUMAN!!!!
ReplyDeleteI've read it, and the setting is insanely different from the show, so there weren't answers there since the tv adaption strayed so much from the book. Still, it was a great read, so I'm happy I got to it.
ReplyDeleteNone from this list. I'd like to see Roswell restarted. I hated season 3. Too much Isabelle And her crappy marriage. Idk. I think with a good cast they could do it.
ReplyDeleteThe Cape. Hahahahaha Yeahhh that definitely needs to be redone. Lol
ReplyDeleteI didn't vote as my choice is as many have said Firefly.
ReplyDeleteAny Star Trek is fine as well as Farscape. Xena for me is not SciFi. SciFi is how we see a future not how we see a mythology past.
ReplyDeleteHercules and Xena are not Sci Fi and shouldn't be on the list, but the awesome Firefly was and isn't on there?!
ReplyDeleteFrom the list the only one I watched is Farscape, so it gets my vote.
ReplyDeleteI hate when they put all those "Fantasy" show in the "SciFi" lists ;-( It ruins the genre
ReplyDeleteI haven't seen Revolution's comics, not really much into comics (which is ironic considering the amount of comic book based shows I watch lol), but I enjoyed the show very much so I would like it back regardless of what the ending was.
ReplyDeleteI would actually put Flashforward at the bottom of this list of 4. I really enjoyed it, especially the premise, but it had many execution faults imo. For me it was easier to take this way, but to visually see the money spent, would have been way more irritating for me :p
ReplyDeleteI actually would have liked to see Dollhouse and Fringe get a bit more time then they could have stretched out some more content.
ReplyDeleteMy first thoughts were where is: Firefly and Battlestar!!?!
ReplyDeleteThis is what I put above :-)
ReplyDeleteI 100% agree.
ReplyDeleteWhen it said cancelled and/or "ended"
I knew they were including all those hear shows that knew they were ending and had closure but could have benefited from more seasons.
I'm going to add a little gem called Kyle XY. I really loved it back then, but it was WAY before it's time at ABC Family.
ReplyDeletemhhm I thought I answered your question.
ReplyDeleteIt is from the same people who made SG Atlantis. So it has a vibe of SG to it, a bit of Andromeda too. It's more about the characters and their dynamics than the world creating (atm). It is not great yet, but surely has the feeling of getting there. When I see reruns of SG1 first episodes I am surprised at how great it became.
Merlin and The Tomorrow People!!!!!!!! (y)
ReplyDelete
