20:20 - Urban Cowboy - Remake Ordered to Pilot at Fox
Fox is moving forward with its Urban Cowboy remake.
Hustle & Flow's Craig Brewer — who wrote and directed the 2011 Footloose remake — is attached to write, direct and executive produce the drama, which has received a script commitment at the network. Robert Evans, who produced the original feature, and HBO alum Sue Naegle also will executive produce the co-production between Paramount TV and 20th Century Fox Television. James Sikura will oversee for the Robert Evans Co. and co-executive produce. Chris Levinson also is attached to executive produce.
Fox's Urban Cowboy is a modern reimagining of the classic 1980 Paramount romantic drama starring Debra Winger and John Travolta. Fueled with energetic music, it follows Kyle and Gaby, two star-crossed young lovers, as they pursue their dreams and passions through the sweat of line-dancing in honky-tonks, the grime of the oil refineries and the glamour of modern Texas. It's about family legacies, starting over, finding true love and the American dream.
"In the 35 years since I made the original Urban Cowboy, country music and the influence of Texas has gone stratospheric," Evans said. "The timing could not be better to continue this story in the television world ... And what an ace team of collaborators we have on board to make it happen."

20:10 - Scorpion Producers Tease Walter/Paige’s Evolution, Juxtaposing Action with Emotion in Season 2
As SCORPION’s Walter found his life in danger at the end of the first season, he set about saying goodbye — in his own way — to the people he cared most about. But he was distraught when he thought Paige — who was set to leave town — was MIA, and he wouldn’t get to tell her the truth of how he felt about her.
Thankfully, Walter survived. And after Paige rushed to his side once she found out what was going on, she gave a kiss to her unconscious friend.
“I think [Walter’s] emotional changes are going to be the drive of the whole series,” SCORPION executive producer Heather Kadin shared. “That’s obviously the purpose of Paige and her character: to teach the world to him, while he translates the world for her son. The more we can hold on to that emotional core, the more relatable the show is. Because you’re rooting for him to be a little more human each day.
“I think that the one thing we’re trying to acknowledge [is] we had a lot of tease last year, and what we’d like to do is acknowledge the gorilla in the room and then see how it complicates their lives,” Nicholas Wootton added. “I think to say they were going to have a perfect, loving relationship that is going to last [starting immediately], that’s not going to happen. I think given his level of emotional maturity, even the concept of admitting, ‘I even like you’ is a long jump for him. But I think we both know how they feel, let’s admit how they feel, and see how it reverberates though the team.”

02:30 - The Infamous - L.A. Riots Crime Drama - Gets A&E Pilot Order
A&E is expanding its scripted offerings.
The cable network home toBates Motel has handed out a pilot order to The Infamous, The Hollywood Reporter has learned.
Described as an unflinching crime drama, The Infamous centers on two complicated men on a collision course: an ambitious reformed gangster poised to break out of South Central and the LAPD detective hell-bent on taking him down. The drama, which hails from A+E Studios and Color Force, is set against real events in turbulent 1990s Los Angeles — and leading up to the L.A. Riots that tore the city apart. Sources tell THR that there is a musical component to the potential series, which will revolve around a gangster-turned-aspiring hip-hop producer who is trying to break free of his street persona and the white police officer trying to bring him down.
Gambit's Joshua Zetumer will pen the script and executive produce alongside Color Force's Nina Jacobson (The Hunger Games, FX's American Crime Story) and Brad Simpson (World War Z, American Crime Story).
"Original scripted series have become an increasingly important part of the A&E brand," A&E exec vp and head of programming Elaine Frontain Bryant said. “By looking a few decades back in time, The Infamous urgently explores the issues of racial tension and injustice that remain relevant today."
