19:20 - The Last Kingdom - Premiere Date + Key Art
BBC America has set 10 PM ET Saturday, October 10 for the premiere of its new original series The Last Kingdom. We’re also getting a first look at the Game Of Thrones-esque epic series with just-released key art.
Set in the 9th century, the eight-part historical drama is an adaptation of Bernard Cornwell’s best-selling series of books The Saxon Stories, penned by Stephen Butchard,. Described as a contemporary story of redemption, vengeance and self-discovery, The Last Kingdom follows young warrior and outsider, Uhtred (Alexander Dreymon), on a fierce mission to reclaim his birthright. The series will combine real historical figures and events with fictional characters during the reign of Alfred the Great, who as King of Wessex fought off a Viking invasion.
In the photo above, we see Uhtred (Tom Taylor) as an 11-year-old boy watching from Bebbanburg Fortress as invading Viking ships approach. Below, we see Uhtred (Dreymon) as an adult warrior.

Hope Marc and April get together on mistresses don't like Blair
ReplyDeleteAwwww Chris!! Goood for you!! And that trailer looks cute, has a real Serendipity feel to it. I'll support him in anything he does, i'll go see that movie.
ReplyDeleteSo happy Joey Pollari got a bigger role. He bulked up and grew a lot since The Inbetweeners.
ReplyDeleteInteresting he'll take center stage in American Crime, not the show direction I expected but good for him. Hopefully he'll nail it.
The Mistresses press release isn't new.
ReplyDeleteSteven McQueen as the hunky candidate and future firefighter? Oh la la.....
ReplyDeleteThose Riftworld Chronicles were very entertaining.
ReplyDeleteIt was made by mostly Kickstarter funding so it will be a wait & see how well it's recieved I'm guessing. I laughed my ass off, it was far better than most things I've seen on TV lately, if promoted properly I think it would do really well on network tv.
