Really? I really thought using magic tires him. Shocking for me would be like accidentally killing someone or being in gory murder scene. That scene was actually cool and not shocking.
HE was in shock, so he fainted. He "accidentally" used his powers, not knowing he had any, you wouldn't think that be of shock value?? Shock works in a lot of ways, not all of it has to do with "death and gore". As far as a being with powers is concerned, no one faints right after using their gift. (and astral projection doesn't count) Definitely not. And if they did it's not that abrupt. They'd get tired but that's after using it for long periods of time, a nose bleed here, energy drainage there, using too much of w/e gift they have would slow them down, yes, but they wouldn't drop like a fly from a 45 second power trip.
This is actually the first time I've heard of it. (If I heard or seen it beforehand I clearly wasn't paying attention) And this clip alone really didn't do it for me. My favorite syfy series was Being Human. And I haven't found a show i've liked on their since it ended. I personally gave up on the network after what it did to my show and my feelings. Haven't watched anything on syfy since.
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
Well if the rest of the show is anything like this it should be brilliant! I already that character, the one who did the magic.
ReplyDeleteI wonder if there shall be different branches of magic or different types.
ReplyDeleteSo do I when he is in Brakebills but after he's graduated. It's different story for me in the First book of The Magicians's Book Series.
ReplyDeleteAhhhh! This looks so good!
ReplyDeleteMmmm, doing amazing magic like that by accident? A bit too much too soon. i'm not convinced and it really is too much of a rip off of Harry Potter.
ReplyDeleteIn the novel, This scene don't look like Harry Potter so much. He does a magic by Professor try to set Quentin's fingers up
ReplyDeleteWhy did he faint? Is the MC supposed to be a wuss? I haven't read the book.
ReplyDeleteI loved part of the book, magic, school, game but the whole magical kingdom wasn't very interesting IMHO
ReplyDeleteFainting doesn't make him a "wuss"
ReplyDeletelmaooo he fainted! That was hilarious. Poor boy. That was cool but not enough to sell me on this show.
ReplyDeleteShock.

ReplyDeleteI find the trailers very impressive, I think it'll be my fave Syfy show in a few years actually.
