Thanks to Spindae2 for the heads up.

Parenthood vet Peter Krause has signed on to replace NCIS‘ Damon Dayoub as the male lead opposite Mireille Enos in Shonda Rhimes’ latest ABC drama, TVLine has learned.

The Catch — which is set to bow at midseason — centers on Alice, a successful fraud investigator (Enos) who’s about to be the victim of fraud herself by her fiancé Kieran (Krause). Between her cases, she is determined to find him before it ruins her career.

  1. Definite upgrade in my opinion

  2. This is a mistake, Rodrigo Santoro played the male lead.

  3. Love Peter Krause, but still not enough to make me watch this Shonda show.

  4. In the original pilot? No it was the guy from NCIS and Stitchers,

  5. Really!? Why do I think it was Rodrigo Santoro?

  6. Peter is a great actor, loved him in Sexy Dirty Money. Should be a good choice.

  7. Hmmm. Peter Krause is a good actor, but with him in the role, it's going to be a very different dynamic between his and Mirelle Enos' characters.

  8. Peter is a great actor! I've followed his career for a long time, from Six Feet Under and onwards. He will do a wonderful job, I'm sure. I'm just not too sure about this pilot though and it's still a bummer that Bethany Joy Lenz is being recast. She is a very talented actress but now with these changes, probably too young. Sigh.

  9. Why would the swap out a young attractive guy for someone waaay older who is not even that good looking (comparatively)?

  10. His acting is likely way better..... Plus the other guy felt kinda mismatch IMO with Mireille

  11. I get that but he has name recognition and a solid fanbase. But what you say makes sense too

  12. Technically they announced they were recasting the role a while back. They just announce the replacement today.

  13. They probably realized they want to go in a different direction character and story wise. Probably the reason why they recasted the role at the first place.
Yep the young "stud" was certainly more Shondaverse like, but she will certainly chase Peter into the gym and make him shape up.

  14. He's a pretty good actor but for this role-Kinda odd and old,no offense.Maybe he'll surprise me.

  15. I think it makes sense storyline wise as the hot guy she fell for is to obvious. if he ordinary looking then it makes more sense she didn't see it coming.

  16. Yeah I feel like for this role the guy needs to be young and super attractive to be able to fool the lead.

  17. Rodrigo Santoro played Paulo on Lost right ?

  18. As much as shallow this sounds,i couldn't agree more.

  19. Yep. But I don't why I connected him to this show. They resemble a bit but don't know how I was so off with this.

  20. He can act and he's got a great Parenthood fan following. There is only 10 years difference in their ages but I think they look close to the same age. I think they'll play well off of each other.

  21. "Joy sounding shallow!" Never gonna happen. ^_^

  22. That was a compliment for her but for him?LOL!

  23. oh my god, best recast ever !!! i'm really happy

  24. I'm not calling into question their real age, just what I saw when I watched the pilot. When I watched it, it felt like she was a bit too old for him.

  25. I see. Thank you for explaining.

  26. No no. She is watching them train and who ever is stalling she throws chicken wings at him/her
