Many people inside Fox were pretty sure both LAST MAN ON EARTH *and* WAYWARD PINES were DOA, or close to it. Net gave them both big pushes.

To me, that strategy makes sense even if the show still fails: It sends a message to talent that you will give them a shot. You'll fight.
