Pawter and John of all people being paired up for a story. Im not sure how well they know each other... bar only the background info we have on Pawter being the doc both Dutch and John use. Should be interesting.
Khylen could be a great character if he is given more screentime or not great. Its hard to know there. Rob Stewart is an interesting actor given the right part.
A Rebellion already? I was expecting nothing like that at the end of season 1. Hopefully the Killjoys remember that the RAC stays neutral!
I'm really excited about the upcoming episodes of killjoys specially 1x08!It's interesting to watch John and Pawter, D'av and Dutch working together! But nothing about D'avin's storyline?! I'm so disappointed!

ReplyDeleteWe just found out that he killed his squad but we don't know whether he did it or not and what happend to his memories and who is behind what happened to him! I know that they're gonna try to uncover the mystery behind his missing memories(from 7th episode synopsis) but I don't think they're gonna wrap it up in one episode so I was hoping to get some new spoilers about what's gonna happen to him!
ReplyDeleteProblem is if you unrap his memory story too quickly, then his dramatic background is done and dusted and thats generally NOT how drama tv shows work. You get bits and pieces and never the full story. If they unloaded all of his background by episode 10, then whats the point of the character going forward. You know everything about his background and then you run the risk of people saying 'X is boring' he dosnt do anything anymore. Id prefer if thats all the info we got this season on the blockers in his head (and I have issues with the nanites storyline alone which should of detect the blocks as non natural and got rid of them).
ReplyDeleteThen in season 2 you tease out more of it. There could be a trumped up charge for him killing all of his squad if they get too close to the truth. They might threaten Johnny ( I think John is going to be the character that everyone threatens to get Dutch/Da'vin to do what they want)
I don't want them to wrap up his storyline in season 1! Because like you said he needs a storyline in season 2 too! I think you misunderstood me! I just don't want them to ignore his story in last 3 episodes I want them to give us some pieces(like you said) about his past and story until the end of the season and I'm guessing they are going to! I was just looking for more information about him because he's my favorite character that's all!
ReplyDeleteahh. Well the benefit of having only 3 cast members is that your are guaranteed to get more story on him. John interests me the most on the show, because he isnt a killer/ Soldier like the others. Seems most in touch with his humanity and has Lucy to himself :)

Hes also the only one (as far as we known) who dosnt have a DEEP DARK BACKGROUND WHERE HE DID VERY BAD THINGS'

ReplyDeleteDepends. THe way the RAC seems to work is that they are like the Switzerland of the universe. THey dont take sides. They take jobs from everyone. Corrupt types, Gang Leaders, Sex Workers, the Company and others (Im assuming even that Religous group could effectively hire them). Having the RAC operate like this means that as tv shows goes you can do a lot with what you have. They can work for the bad guys and make the whole job a little less bad
ReplyDeleteTHey can work for the company and you can show a company that has both good intentions but bad implmentation. They could work for a religous group who want them to do something bad.
Either way they are working for someone and are thus operating as Killjoys. You make them goes AGAINST the RAC and we lose the main premise and the ability for the story to take us in different directions. The characters would be forced to pick a side. I just dont think Id like what the show would become.
A Cliffhanger of an 'open rebellion' to Corporate rule WOULD be cool. I still dont think the RAC would pick a side bar whoever paid them to do something.
Im entirely convinced John has changed Lucy's programming. Not a lot.. but definetly more to be more.. 'human' and less ships AI.

ReplyDeleteI've always liked sci-fi but I am still amazed at how layered and deep Kiljoys and its characters are. I'm expecting a lot from this show as the weeks progress. It's my latest favorite.
ReplyDeleteBut Dominion is my #1 favorite right now. Brother archangels at odds with each other but still brothers, with all the history and baggage that entails. This is the stuff drama is made of.
Generally the show is a bit of a soap opera, but watching the manipulation and backstabbing can be jaw dropping and they do have some surprising reveals. For me, it's Michael and Gabriel's relationship that makes the show worth watching. And I'm not going to complain about finally having a show about angels. Vampires, as much as I love them, seem to be on the way out and angels are on the way in - after the superheroes, of course!

ReplyDeleteLucy DOES talk like a human instead of a machine, i mean she jokes, uses contractions, etc.
ReplyDeleteThats probably more of a normal thing so the talking computer isnt so monotone and unrelatable. The only other computer we have heard so far (in regards to a ships AI) was the one on the black ops torture ship who was asking some direct questions about some special projects.

THat was just 'their' boss. Every RAC person probably get assigned an overseer (or that person was simply their disciplinary person). It would be like a chain of command. You have a manager, they have a manager etc.

ReplyDeleteAw. For some reason, when I read these the first time I thought it was JOHN and Dutch trapped on Lucy together and I was happy because I love their scenes! Disappointed it turns out it's not. Darn it. I don't want John off with Pawter :-( Ah well.
