Supernatural has tapped The Mentalist’s Emily Swallow to join the Season 11 cast in a significant (and malevolent) recurring role, TVLine has learned exclusively.
Swallow — whose pre-Mentalist credits include arcs on Ringer and Southland — will play Amara, a femme fatale who is both seductive and sinister (when need be). It’s not clear when exactly Amara will be introduced, or what connection (if any) she may have to the just-released Darkness.

Is that the baddie that'll be in the Ackles-directed episode "The Bad Seed"?
ReplyDeleteGreat last name by the way.
^ Hey, I'm a guy....I can't help it if I say certain things.
I still can't get over seeing "joining season 11 as..." S11. I never thought we'd get this far.
ReplyDeleteLadies and Gents meet "The Darkness"
ReplyDeleteGreat last name by the way.
ReplyDelete^ LOL
So how long before she bites the dust or become Charlie 2.0?
ReplyDeleteEmily Swallow's.
ReplyDeleteHow much longer until this series ends? I love the show, I love the cast but it has to come to an end at some point. It feels like they pretty much done everything.
ReplyDeleteAll that smoke in the finale it better be more then one person we seeing. Or the rest of it is a force of some type.
ReplyDeleteI don't think so. As far as I'm aware they are pretty much finished with Ackles' episode, so unless this character appears at the end she will probably be introduced in a different episode (unless she was cast a while ago but has only just been announced).
ReplyDeleteMore 2 seasons
ReplyDeleteThe latter is what I've been thinking. No way they'll conveniently mention two baddies tagline as being a femme fatale.
ReplyDeleteDo they really need another female character???? *sigh* we all know what happens to them in the end!!!!
ReplyDeleteAnother villain????? Really???? Season 9 and season 10's villains are still running a muck! Besides Abaddon, they really haven't killed any of the main villains! Not since season 7 anyway!
I have no idea who she is, never watched those shows, didn't want to, but if her character can kill Rowena, then bring her on. If not then, IDC who she is. Idc if she has the hots for Dean, and idc if she's a villian.
ReplyDeleteI'm hoping season 11 will be the last. Guess it depends on how this season goes. shrugs.
ReplyDeleteNo one did.
ReplyDeleteDawn is probably so pissed off whenever she reads that SPN is entering an eleventh season.
ReplyDeleteI can buy that 'The Darkness' forms one single entity of sorts with an entire army behind it(or, as this entity becomes, a her).
ReplyDeleteI see it ending at 13, really. This storyline could last for at least a couple more seasons. Besides, I'm sure in Carver's twisted little mind, he would love the idea of ending the series at 13 with it being such an evil number.
ReplyDelete"If i were her, i definitely would've changed my last name."
ReplyDeleteUnless she doesn't mind the last name.
I think she minded, but got over it. Again, "IF I were her, i would've changed it." Soon as hit 18.
ReplyDeleteJared posted this on Facebook but deleted it later:
ReplyDeleteMisha should start bringing his camera to set so he can "third-wheel" it for the next three years of Supernatural :)
In May, Pedowitz told that Jensen and Jared's contracts are up at the end of season 11. So it seems that Jensen and Jared are willing to sign for two more seasons.
According to Jason Fischer, they wrapped on July 16.

ReplyDeleteI don't see the darkness lasting that long. They should be done with it by the end of season 11 and come up with something new. What they teased about the darkness at Comic-Con doesn't sound that exciting. And now there's confirmation that it's just another chick running around. But I guess I'll have to give it a chance.
Season 9 and season 10's villains are still running a muck!
ReplyDeleteYes, why are the writers so precious about them? In Kripke years, they killed off some great adversaries. If they were cast now, they would probably stick around forever and even become frenemies with the Winchesters!
Well, I guess they need to flesh out Crowley so that he could be a recurring character independent from the Winchesters so they use Rowena for that. And they seem to really enjoy Metatron and the actor, Curtis Armstrong.
It seems very interesting !!!
ReplyDeleteWe never found out anything about the Styne women. Wonder f she might be a Styne? The youngest Styne mentioned his parents but we never saw his mother just his father.
ReplyDeleteYes, the swallow is a lovely bird. I'm sure that's what you meant, right?
ReplyDeleteIMO more likely some agent of the Darkness.... or someone possessed by it maybe.
ReplyDeleteshe is the alien
ReplyDeleteshe will probably be in last scene of episode 3
like rowena in last year
'maybe
Carver talking about dealing with a bigger baddie than usual and something 'biblical', I just feel like it won't be a one-season blunder anymore. One of the most resonating reasons why other villains and arcs felt bigger is because they last longer than just one seasons, as SPN had with Azazel, Lilith and Lucifer, while only being in one season, went throughout the first five seasons(moreso starting in a third season).
ReplyDeleteWhy would she have to mind it though? Perhaps her parents quickly taught her out to not pay any attention to the negativity.
ReplyDeleteYeah, b/c all parents do that and kids listen. = / Dude, out of everything i wrote in my comment, the only thing YOU had to comment on was her name? You didn't even acknowledge my "Poor actress she must've been bullied all through HS." I think that proves my point. Not just that, but your stupid, 'Hey i'm a guy, can't help myself" joke, also speaks volumes. Not to mention that other guy down there that for w/e reason, literally NEEDED to point the obvious out, (rolls eyes) then "congratulate you" with your "nice name btw" comment. So give me a break with your crap, cuz i'm not oblivious to what you're doing. You can drop the "It's just a name, why would she have minded it" act. Cuz you know damn straight why. smh
ReplyDeleteHa. If only that's what he meant.
ReplyDeleteI see that you're getting frustrated because I made a comment of an adult which has no relevance to you saying she was bullied, without even knowing this. When you want to make some sense, then you can reply to me. You have no idea if she was bullied and you're only thinking she was.
ReplyDeleteI'm getting frustrated b/c you're being a smart alec knowing exactly what i'm talking about, yet you're having me repeat myself knowing the obvious. You didn't make a "comment of an adult", you read what you wanted to read. (like a you heard what you wanted to hear scenario) my main comment was on SPN, but you didn't have anything to say about that. I said, "Must've" as an assumption, (I think that was pretty much a given) yes, BUT given how MEAN children can be, especially around their teen years, especially males when they become the ages of 13-21, there's really no doubt that she wasn't. (And by the comments in this thread by you and that that person, again, joking or not, my point is proven, and both of you are over 13) Kids find a way to tease other kids on anything, and usually it's starting out/related to their names. And when you have a name that's "weird" or "smack in your face" obvious, kids will tease you on it. And it's been that way for generations. You can't possibly think she didn't get teased during her school years. What kind of thinking is that? That's complete denial is what that is. Hellooo, you just did it! What i'm saying makes a lot of sense, you want to act like a "deer in a headlights" and spin it then go ahead. But the proof's already there. And i'm not the only female in this thread that caught on to "joking comments" of her name. I was sympathzing with her as the other girl was defending her, not making "less that subtle" remarks on her name, unlike some.
ReplyDeleteNo, I have no idea what you're talking about. You said she could have been bully, but I don't believe that. I don't believe she was bullied until she says she was, because unlike you, I don't believe everyone is as mean-spiritied as you'd like to believe. So you can think whatever you want, and I won't try to change your opinion, but to also bring in relevance of my comment to a full-grown adult is nothing like your idea that she was bullied, especially when that wasn't a bullying comment from me. So, this is the moment where you can actually move on from this topic because you're just not making any clear sense at the moment, if I may be brutally honest with you.
ReplyDeleteWho said anything about "everybody being mean spirited" I said children can be mean, especially in that age range, it's common sense. None of that is a "shocker" to anyone. I didn't say ALL children were mean. And your first comment kind of overrides your comment of, "I don't believe everyone is mean spirited." In your first comment you say "maybe her parents taught her not to pay attention to the negativity." Negativity can also address "mean spirited people" can it not? Thus you actually believing their is negative people out there, otherwise her parents wouldn't have to "warn her" about that. If you can't see what i'm saying, and seriously can't agree that children at those ages don't "bully/tease/make fun of" (like i said, same difference. As i edited my comment, if you refresh the page you'll see it.) others with "weird" names, then you must seriously live in a Pleasantville world or you just don't pay attention to the world around you. Or maybe you're just one of those people that wants to see "the good" in every human being. Whatever the case may be, idk. She doesn't have to confirm anything for you to believe it. Maybe her experience was so traumatic she doesn't want to talk about it, or think about it, you don't know. But since you "clearly can't see what i'm talking about", it really makes no sense to continue this conversation. So i agree that You and I can both move on from this topic.
ReplyDeleteIt's really not common sense. It's almost asinine to think children are just going to make fun, just to make fun. One of my best friends in years is a woman with the last name of Cummings and guess what? She was never made fun of except one of her ex's during hs. That's about it. So no, I'm not in the same boat as you that think she was made fun of.
ReplyDeleteOnce more, you're not understanding what I am saying, and that's just sad. Saying it was just her ex is me saying it's just random children as you are to believe that children would make fun just to make fun. It was her ex that tried to be cool because she had broken it off with him. And I'm bringing up the example that I am aware of and close to where I never saw children making fun of her, so no, with my own experiences close by, I do not believe children make fun just to make fun. Have you known anyone with a specific type of name that could have been made fun of, that was made fun of? Because you're only speaking of stories you've heard.
ReplyDeleteIt's ironic how you wanted me to let it go, but you still typed away, and an essay at that, which is one that added nothing. You can bring up examples that you don't really know of and try to make it sound like what you're saying is making a lick of sense to anything I brought up and you can continue to believe that every single person is mean-spirited, but that was just a waste of time on your behalf. Or did you want me to leave the conversation, you type your essay just so you can have the last word? I'm thinking the latter.
ReplyDeleteListen, you can think all you want, but I refuse to believe every kid is dreadful just because of where you live and what you think you know.
I'm thinking the latter with you, because if you really meant what you said in the beginning, you wouldn't have responded in the first place. I think it's ironic that you can't keep your word, even to yourself, when it was you who said, you wanted to move on, but yet you won't. And still here you are. I agreed that we should both move on, but YOU kept on. Again, NOT "every single person" smh like a wall, i swear. "A waste on my behalf" Idts, YOU'RE the one that asked me the question. I guess you weren't thinking that i'd actually have an answer, or maybe you were hoping I wouldn't, so i wouldn't be able to prove my point.
ReplyDeleteYeah ok, your refusal to believe it doesn't make it any less true. But you go ahead and stay in your Pleasantville world. Not going to try and change your mind about that. You want to continue to THINK that every person is full of "sugar, spice, and everything nice." You go ahead. But when you finally realize that that's not true, it'll be a rude awakening. Just a head's up. But you probably wouldn't take that into consideration anyway. Seeing how that's not really your forte.
So what, you wanted to type an essay of sorts to not have me reply to? Obviously you wanted a reply if you took such time to type something out, that still has no relevance to anything I had said. You want to force the idea that because of where you live, every kid is mean-spirited and that is not true, or even remotely accurate, but you continue to THINK such. I won't lose sleep because of it.
ReplyDeleteNo no no no. I'm talking about my earlier comment. Not the most recent. I didn't say it had anything to do with where i'm living, BUT a lot of stuff happens in my city, and a lot of those examples i gave you weren't even IN my city. Another point, that it's not in just where i live, BUT ALL OVER!!! I don't want to "force" you into thinking anything. But don't be in complete denial about it. Especially when it's in your face. In current events around the world. I mean what? Do you need a big sign that blinks bright lights above an elementary school and says, "Kids get teased at P.S. 187" Do you need to see a kid cry over his/her name being picked on?? Would that make you feel better or worse?? I'm thinking the latter. That's sarcasm btw.
ReplyDeleteI'm not in complete denial. I am aware that SOME kids are mean-spirited and purely evil, but I also know that's not true for EVERY kid. As with my example, my friend(and I don't think I need to say her name, but since I mentioned her last name, I will just call her Miss C!) wasn't made fun of only until her ex thought it would be cool just because he broke up with him and he wanted to make a joke infront of his friends. So no, I can't say, and neither should you, that she was made fun of by her name because not every child is like that, and I'm only saying that. It's just not having faith in humanity to say every child would make fun of her.
ReplyDeleteWE'RE TALKING ABOUT NAMES! Why else would I even bring my friend up and MENTION her last name?
ReplyDeleteYou're still not even understanding my comments. Jesus Christ.
Oh no, i got that, i know very well why you brought in her name to begin with, just like when i brought up my friends and their names. But you still don't get it. And correction...we WERE talking about names. Goodnight Anno.
ReplyDeleteI don't know who she is but I can't wait! Please, bring Tom Welling to SPN :D
ReplyDeleteNah, trust me....I got it, but right now I don't care anymore.
