THE FLASH BRINGS TWO DC COMICS CHARACTERS TO CENTRAL CITY FOR SEASON TWO

Teddy Sears (Masters of Sex) Joins the Cast as Jay Garrick and
Shantel VanSanten (The Messengers, The Final Destination) as Patty Spivot

Teddy Sears (Masters of Sex, Raising the Bar) has been cast as Jay Garrick, who is well known to comic book fans as the first DC Comics character to take on the mantle of The Flash. In the TV show, Jay is a mysterious figure who arrives in Central City to warn Barry Allen and his team at S.T.A.R. Labs of an impending danger that he alone cannot hope to stop.
The Flash executive producer Andrew Kreisberg said, “Having Jay Garrick come onto the show was one of our earliest ideas. It is so exciting, as we rush into season two, that we finally get to bring the Crimson Comet to life. We couldn’t imagine anyone more suited to play the original Flash than Teddy.”

Shantel VanSanten (The Messengers, The Final Destination, One Tree Hill) has been set for the role of Patty Spivot. A more recent addition to The Flash’s comic book history, Patty Spivot is a police officer and science enthusiast who catches the eye of Barry Allen. Patty is obsessed with metahumans and partners with Det. Joe West this season but has no idea that her new crush is The Flash.
“We were huge fans of The Messengers and are excited to have Shantel join us to help complicate Barry Allen’s love life in season two,” said Kreisberg.

Supergirl executive producer Andrew Kreisberg said, “Greg [Berlanti], Ali [Adler] and I have been fans of Peter for years. We’re beyond thrilled to have him join us on Supergirl’s first adventures bringing the iconic Maxwell Lord to life.”

    OH MY GOD. I love the new suit. I was so afraid I was going to hate it, I'm so relieved. Also I didn't want it to be sleeveless but it kinda isn't so I'm cool. Also even the quiver looks different. It holds more arrows like the one in the comics.

    He's a socially politically motivated villain. All about corruption and the failings if capitalism and wealth distribution. So he's a perfect villain for the show, given the whole list and great level of corporate corruption in (now) Star City. Not to mention he could be inspired by the Hood's actions in season one and perhaps even inspire some of Oliver's comic boom liberalism.

    No worries! And...I don't know. In the comics, Eobard is Zolomon's sort-of inspiration (in costume and actions). However, he plagues Wally West's Flash, not Barry Allen. And given that Wally West is being introduced this season...

I guess but I assume Wally will be Kid a Flash, so is Zolomon just moving through time to make young Wally into a better future Flash by killing his loved ones, or targeting Barry or going to kill Barry to make Wally better? And then I wonder if Zolomon will start as a cop and then be crippled. So many questions.

    I just realized that we still don't know the Arrow premiere title. UGH. And why didn't Arrow do some voice overs like the Flash in the promo? I need some stuff from the premiere.

    Awesome stuff about the Flash. Major Westallen and Snowstorm feels from the promo, but why is Caitlin saying she is not coming back? Don't you dare kill Ronnie. I still want Barry to take responsibility for the wormhole, not be a hero for stopping what he caused. More Henry/Barry scenes yaaaaaay. Captain Cold and Grodd are coming back. Iris will be a part of the team. Cisco will deal with having superpowers. Eobard is back. Wally West, Jay Garrick and Zoom are coming.

    I adore the new suit, Stephen looks even more handsome than before.
    Dig's suit looks neat as well.
    Love they teased good moments/interactions between Laurel and Thea and Malcolm and Felicity.
    Sadly no information on the flashbacks. Surprised!!!
    Anarky and Mr. Terrific sound neat.


    The Flash:
    YEAAAAAAAAAAAH! For Shantel getting cast. She is a sweety, but is bit too old for Barry isn't she?
    Didn't expect Jay right away but should be interesting to see him interact with Barry and the others.
    ZOOM! WoW! Nice choice.

    It's not really about the character, it is more about the "legacy" and stuff. I mean he is the Original speedster and has to channel that energy. I liked Teddy in MoS as well, liked him in that one lawyer show as well. Just he needs to be way more upfront when he portrays this character.


    Shantel will rock this no doubt there.
