Update: 10th July 09:45 Here is an update from Laura Vandervoort denying this story.
Just wanted to clarify I'm not in "talks" with the #Supergirl series to be a part of it. I'd love to but no official discussions. Thanks xo

Supergirl may have found a way to pay tribute to the Supergirl who came before it.
Laura Vandervoort – the star of SyFy’s werewolf drama Bitten – told EW exclusively at Comic Con on Thursday that she’s in talks to cameo on the upcoming CBS show. “Hopefully I get to be a part of it at some point. Which is looking good,” Vandervoort said. “Maybe.”

just how Justin Hartley was in talks to cameo on Arrow? Yeah sure..
ReplyDeleteWTF Batman !!!
ReplyDeleteYes, please!
ReplyDeleteThat'd be neat if it panned out. Especially if they got Helen Slater involved in the scene too.
ReplyDeleteShould be Helen Slater but w/e. I like Laura too.
ReplyDeleteI think that was just wishful thinking, Idt that was anything to take seriously. = /
ReplyDelete...Helen Slater's already guest starring on the show.
ReplyDeleteIsn't she playing Kara's foster mother?
ReplyDeleteOh Good. I didn't know that.
ReplyDeleteDon't know. Haven't been reading updates, b/c i'm not excited about the show. I'm probably just going to watch the pilot and that's it. When it's released properly that is.
ReplyDeleteI'm sure I read somewhere Helen Slater was playing Alex's mother / Kara's foster mother, and Dean Cain would be playing the father.
ReplyDeleteSo would it be safe to say you don't know about Dean Cain guesting as her adoptive scientist father Jer
ReplyDeleteThis would be great news. Hoping it's not just a brief cameo though. Get her in as a kryptonian or even a Bizarro style Supergirl. She'd be a great villain for Kara.
ReplyDeleteBut Dean Cain, Helen Slater, and now Laura Vandervoort. They're doing well with the cameos. But get me Faye Dunaway or Teri Hatcher as well please!
Nope. Sure don't.
ReplyDeleteTHAT WOULD BE AWESOME...but I want it to be more than a cameo.
ReplyDeleteThey probably are, but again, I can't confirm nor deny it b/c I haven't bothered to keep up with the updates for this show.
ReplyDeleteBerlanti and Kreisberg were all over it when the show premiered, it sure was more about getting Smallville fans to be quiet about the casting of Stephen but still
ReplyDeleteLet's not forget about Zod, Ursa, and
ReplyDeleteOk? Then it was a trick they used to get fans to shut up, nothing more.
ReplyDeleteFreaking YES!
ReplyDeletePLEASE LET IT COME TO FRUITION!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteHey she's not THAT old LOL, if anything i hope she takes Christopher Reeve's role in Supergirl like he did in Smallville.
ReplyDeleteWhy do you keep saying "scientist"? We don't know their occupations.
ReplyDeleteYou'd be right, they're Alex's bio parents and Kara's adoptive parents.
ReplyDeleteTERENCE STAMP! Yeas please!!!!!
ReplyDeleteI actually hope she does what Christopher Reeves did on Smallville.
ReplyDeleteI know right ?

We sure do. Check out the 2:38 minute mark of the pilot.

Helen is 51, Laura is 30, Chyler is 33 playing 26, and Melissa is 26 playing 24.
ReplyDeleteThe could have Eliza's parent's have had a unexpected pregnancy late in life and there would be a 15 year age between Eliza and younger sister 'Laura'.
In a nut shell Kara and Alex's aunt would only be four years older then them and she would have grown up along side them ... more like their sister then their aunt.
She is already the star of her own show "Bitten" so I doubt it would be a fulltime thing.

ReplyDeleteWell i was thinking of him playing Jor-El in Smaville LOL
ReplyDeleteWow i completely forgot Kara said that
ReplyDeleteBetter be a cousin but maybe like i said, she'd be like Christopher Reeve in Smallville.
ReplyDeleteHOPE SO!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteI know she's the lead on Bitten, I watch the show. But given the shorter episode order of Bitten she'd have time to do more than a cameo for sure.
ReplyDeleteTrue that!
ReplyDelete:o good but how is she gonna fit? I mean I loved in Smallville but we already got Kara here :O it'll cool to see how.
ReplyDeleteDude she's the foster mom. Also wasn't Supergirl kinda weak as a film?
ReplyDeleteYeah I was one of those people before Arrow premiered.
ReplyDeleteMy wish is that she'll be like what Christopher Reeve was on Smallville.
ReplyDeleteI figured, hopefully someday she will.
ReplyDeleteLol, EW. All she said was that "hopefully she gets to be a part" and EW translated that too "she's in talks for a cameo". Poor journalism.
ReplyDeleteTrue that
ReplyDeleteYou see I don't understand this trend of taking actors from previous works and incorporating them in new ones with at "wink" and a "nudge". There's some degree of meta cleverness to it but its not as witty or grande as by the looks of things, too many people seem to think it is.
ReplyDeleteIn the case of Supergirl and Flash its actually even worse because its using past bad performances.
I was around when the original Flash aired. It was not good. It was both a critical and commercial failure so to trumpet the casting of John Wesley Shipp is celebrating mediocrity at best and then patting yourself on the back for being so cool. Its actually quite lame. Mark Hamill gets a pass because he's Luke friggin Skywalker. Nuff Said there.
This particular example with Supergirl is just as bad if not worse because its celebrating Smallville. Smallville was an abomination of a series that sharted all over the Superman mythos and should be consigned to the halls of shame forever.
Knowing this, seeing reactions like "COOL!!!!!!!!" and "AWESOME!!!!!" just makes me shake my head because its celebrating mediocrity. Its cheering a participation award. We should all expect more. We don't seem to be.
Hahaha i don't doubt it. LOL
ReplyDeleteYes. Yesss. People have told me. JC! And no. It wasn't as Successful as Superman, but it was liked. I personally loved it. Used to watch it soo much as a kid.
ReplyDeleteHuh. I should check it out then. I mean if you like it it's gotta be good.
ReplyDeleteThen the show proved me wrong and that Graydon died.
ReplyDeleteWell I was a kid when I loved it. There's a different appreciation for it back then. But SHE IS Supergirl. She is the original. The movie is to might suck, but there might be some things about it you'll like. (Yes that means her in all her hotness in the uniform). I haven't seen it in years, but at this time, I really would lve to watch it.
ReplyDeleteLmaooo
ReplyDeleteAh you get me and my appreciation for hot superheroines. If it's anything like the Reeves' stuff, I'll like it. Why not watch it then?
ReplyDeleteYeah I do. And Eh, true. Shrugs. Well couldn't hurt.
ReplyDeleteDean Cain tweeted me his character name is Jeremiah Danvers and Helen's name is Dana Danvers .
ReplyDeleteWhether you liked or hated Smallville, or how the characters were depicted, you can't say it was an abomination when it aired for a decade.
ReplyDeleteOh. The argument that longevity must therefore equal quality. Well COPS has been on the air since 1989 because there are no shortage of idiots willing to waste their time on it. Ergo: Smallville aired for a decade because there was no shortage of....... I think you can guess the end of the sentence.
