The streaming service announced Wednesday that the first episode of the show, which CBS passed on, will premiere on Aug. 7.

Amazon has officially thrown Sneaky Pete a lifeline.

The streaming service announced Wednesday that it would debut the pilot for the Bryan Cranston co-created and co-executive produced show, which CBS passed on. Starting Aug. 7, Amazon users can watch the Sneaky Pete pilot and, in keeping with Amazon Studios' pilot process, vote on whether they want to see the show turned into a full series.

Sony Pictures Television produced the Sneaky Pete pilot for CBS, which decided not to move forward with the series about a 30-something con man who assumes his cellmate's identity after leaving prison, hiding from his debtors while working for his new family's bail bond business.
