Nikki Reed is ready to get her historical groove on.
The Twilight and Thirteen alum has landed the key series regular role of Betsy Ross on the upcoming third season of Fox's Sleepy Hollow, The Hollywood Reporter has learned.
Sleepy Hollow's Ross is described as sexy with an unsuspecting physical prowess. She's the famous seamstress known and loved for sewing the nation's first flag by day, but by night she's a dynamic colonial insider, a secret operative within George Washington's mysterious ring of spies.
"We are all very excited to welcome Nikki Reed into the world of Sleepy Hollow," co-creator/EP Len Wiseman told THR. "Nikki's the perfect choice to bring a smart and sexy edge to our show's twisted version of American icon, Betsy Ross."
The casting comes after Ichabod (Tom Mison) noted in seasons one and two that Ross was a former flame.

Hmm. I like Nikki Reed but not sure how I feel about her in Sleepy Hollow, seems a bit weird. Anyway, I shall remain open minded.

ReplyDeleteActually I didn't hate Katrina but I didnt like her either I'm just saying it's really unfair to nikki that people are going to hate on her no matter what just because she might possibly be a love interest of ichabod. This fandom is vicious and hopefully it gets cancelled soon.

ReplyDeleteI get that Sleepy Hollow has earned a large dose of skepticism from viewers after how season two played out but this is a bit much.
I think at this point, the majority of the audience will hate anyone who isn't Ichabod/Abbie/Jenny.
ReplyDeleteI'm hoping the writers have learned from how badly they screwed up Katrina. Give characters purpose and allow them and their relationships to progress. Don't fear audience reaction so heavily. Don't force characters where they don't belong.
I live in North Caroline and hear all about it. That's because North Carolina voted in a Republican governor and a majority republican state government who immediately dropping tax incentives for the film production in North Carolina. This raised production costs triple fold for filming companies. Just about all left North Carolina as a result.

ReplyDeleteI think people are concerned that this is just another replacement for a character who should have been left in the past. They have two leads for the show Tom and Nicole and it is the future of the world, present day, that's is... well, was the whole premise of the show. It's what made it a success most of season one. With this, it would seem they still having not learned the lessons of the past... season 2 past, while trying to keep to keep the whole show in 200 years of past.

Well I wouldn't call myself vicious but yeah, it can happen. I do have to admit that I have prejudices against Nikki but I will still remain open to the possibility that she is good. I just hope she'll be better than in Twilight..
