Wow! What a mind-blowing and emotional episode tonight! Loved it so much.
I was too excited over everything happening to even consider Julian was the higher angel Michael turned into an 8 ball in the flashbacks. Alex is in trouble! Everyone is! This is an angel that wanted to be like Michael when he was "going flood".
Now it makes sense why Julian can control the 8 balls. He is one.
Michael was amazing this episode. I loved:
-How upset he was over the ritual in Mallory
-Him saying he had to get back to Alex (finally!)
-Him deciding to take Laurel's place
-His threat to Wes! So badass! (Wes's face was priceless! lol)
Even though I knew Michael would live because the knife was surely not empyrean steel, it was still such an emotional scene and hard to watch.
And Gabriel's reaction was heartbreaking - the brothers really are strongly connected. I'm not usually sympathetic with present day Gabriel, but I felt bad for him during that scene.
Gabriel didn't kill an angel. He killed a human from the city God had ordered burned down. He had befriended him, but when the human figured out he was an angel he tried to kill him and so Gabriel killed him (though not meaning to).
The higher angel with the battle ax is one Michael punished and turned into an 8 ball for torturing the people in the city (they were there to slaughter them but not torture). Julian is that higher angel turned 8 ball. And both Michael and Gabriel know this. (Michael warned Alex to stay away from New Delphi and Gabriel's conversation with Julian last episode both hinted they knew him.)
Oops may mistake why I was thinking Gabriel when I wanted to say Michael. But are you sure that Michael killed an 8 ball and not damn Lucifer but if not Lucifer then was it Julian that Michael killed?
Lucifer had nothing to do with this scene. Michael punished Julian (whose name was apparently Nero back then if I heard the dialog correctly) by taking away his higher angel status which meant Julian was forced to become a spirit - we saw his spirit leave his body. Flesh and blood bodies are reserved for higher angels only. Julian became a lower angel, one of those who have stolen human bodies on earth, the 8 balls, and as we now know Julian is the leader of New Delphi. What we still don't know is why he and other 8 balls in New Dephi seem to have kept the humanity of their hosts instead of becoming mindless killing machines like the 8 balls in Vega. Or have they?
As I said, Julian was the higher angel Michael "killed" in the flashback. He didn't actually kill him, only caused him to lose his body, and become an 8 ball.
It's so great how things had reversed. Gabriel was the one forgiving the humans while Michael only wanted blood and vengeanze and look at where they are now. Claire seeing hwo corrupt i shr city little by little. She needs to step up, noone sees her as a lider and she needs to prove them wrong. For being the most powerfull beings on the earth Archangels are really dump. How havent they realized New Delphi leader is an Higher Angel himself?. Here i woner where is eh gonna use that plague, I guess he wants revenge agains Mihchael but will he that now he's living among humans killed them anyways?
By showing uo with Wes it automatically make him the scacrificial lamb for the next 5 years, noone will beilieve him that Michael is alive and he is an angel xD. Good play for Michael.
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.

ReplyDeleteAm I correct in saying that lower angels, who are spirits without bodies, only become 8 balls when they "steal" human bodies by possessing them?
