  1. Fellow viewers/posters, Datak Tarr is the real star of Defiance.............and this episode just proves it. Brilliant episode to a brilliant season so far! 4 NEED/WANT FRANCHISES, I am still Nobody!!!

  4. Am i imagining it or did tony curran play his characters father in a flashback, and a different actor played a teenage datak?

  5. fantastic ep! finally some nice background not only on Datak and his beliefs on things and a nice peek into his previous life on Casti and with his father (fantastic dual performance by Tony Curran), and allowed Datak/Stahma to continue on in Defiance (but of course there will be fallout from their actions to come) and with the always awesome Jamie Murray that will be absolute fun to watch.. At the end of the last ep, I was wondering the logic of Kinzi revealing everything to Stahma, but her logic made sense to eliminate her, but didn't count on the sudden change of heart by her father... and I wonder if the new conflict of the last part of the season will be father vs daughter which seems a bit obvious but I am curious if any of the other Omec will be revived and given a chance to assimilate, but that might be a stretch, but that could be interesting. I was hoping for a more battle heavy resolution to the Rahm Tak problem, but this will allow moving on to the next plots, and totally gnarly, yet honorable resolution to the situation by Datak. I am curious if the writers are hinting/pushing for a possible Irissa/Alak pairing, as it seems like they are.... and even though it was an obvious situation to do it, it was good to see that Irissa got past her ptsd in order to kill to save her father. I am bummed and was hoping that some of the smaller characters, like Zero (the Irath marksman) would be around for a bit longer, maybe as a deputy or something.... but an ep that I really enjoyed!

  6. I think there should be a tiny bit more of Stahma in this episode.
Also to magnutude: it could be another conflict, not daughter vs. father. We still don't know and don't understand fully the Omec society and we can't be sure if they have any rules for such situations. Such display could be anything at this moment, even a weird ritual for almost-adult-kids-who-want-to-become-adults. It's possible we all wait and it all will be revealed in 2-3 episodes.

  8. You are correct, I love that Tony Curran played the father but they still managed to make him look different from Datak.

  9. Things keep on getting darker, like how many people died in this episode? Damn. But I knew it was going to be a good one when it started with a Datak flashback.

Datak's smile at the end says it all though. What a great way to rid Defiance of their latest enemy and give Datak a hero moment. Plus the use of The Doors is always a bonus.

Really this show keeps on getting stronger every season, I keeping my fingers crossed for another season - even if S3 was a surprise renewal.

  10. Defintely, the Tarrs have always been my favourite parts of the show.

  11. But could the Tarrs have their series (Defiance spin - off)? I not only say "YES", but I do believe it would be even more successful..............with the correct writers. Also the Omec storyline has been great so far! Nobody 4

  12. I had a huge smile on my face at the end of the episode. Datak came through and it was glorious.
