I like that the bad guys are called Steampunk Scientists haha. That should be a band name. As for the best scene, I voted for the driving scene where Lydia banshees them to the crime scene (my votes will always pretty much go to a scene where we see Lydia using her powers).
ReplyDeleteStiles WILL believe Malia right?!
ReplyDeleteI'm torn between Kira and Malia too so I'm calling it even. The girls really had this episode and I'm loving it.
ReplyDeleteI loved "well thank you, son I should have had" too. It's the little moments.
I went with Kira's fight with Tracy, mostly because I love when a character unleashes its powers. Malia's fight is close second, followed by Tracy's transformation.
ReplyDeleteBelieve what?
ReplyDeleteI laughed when Sheriff said that to Scott and then at the expression on Stiles' face. Still the females definitely take the night for me. It was awesome how much time they gave them and that they each had a purpose and did their job well. I would love to see some more girl time kicking butt on this show.
ReplyDeleteThat was largely why I picked it too. Kira was competent and kick butt. I love how it was only females taking down a female monster and that every one of them shone. I'm actually sorry to see Tracy go but man were the last 10 minutes a fantastic ride!
ReplyDeleteMy vote would have gone to the Kira v Kanima scene but I thought the cgi fox or whatever it was over her head kind of looked like an anime cartoon haha. But I do love that Lydia is getting a grip on her powers now. That moment when she realised that she was going to a dead body made me feel sorry for her though. It was like she's given up and is just accepting that she will always find death. Yeah I'm sticking with you, Steampunk Scientists is much better.
ReplyDeleteAh the downfall of live tweeting. I'm glad you saw it in the rewatch because that was totally awesome! (Said in Mason voice)
ReplyDeleteI would have loved to see more of Tracy, when I saw she was a Kanima I thought Jackson would return to help her but my hopes were crushed...
ReplyDeleteYep, don't call. I think that name makes no sense so I'm sticking with Steampunk Scientists. Now if I call only find a nickname for Lydia's mom.
ReplyDeleteI'm still hoping that Lydia called Jackson about it. I mean, if they made one they could be making a kanima army. I think that deserves a visit back.
ReplyDeleteIt IS a cool nickname LOL, maybe Mama Lockwood 2.0 because she went through the same thing as her character on Vampire Diaries?
ReplyDeleteI do feel for Lydia because she got the sucky end of the supernatural stick. I hope that as this season progresses we see that being a banshee can be proactive too instead of always finding the bodies. Lydia deserves better.
ReplyDeleteI didn't know she was on TVD. That's cool.
ReplyDeleteMy sister said that Donovan's eyes blinked sideways, in a lizard kind of way. So maybe he'll be a Kanima too so you may be right, the Docs may want a Kanima army. They ARE the most dangerous Weres on the show.
ReplyDeleteOh yeah she was and actually died there, so i think that's she's back after such a long absence, so when i saw that scene in the station it reminded me of when she saw her son Tyler turn into a werewolf, ironically LOL.
ReplyDeleteShe didn't even get accelerated healing, that's the best perk of being supernatural.
ReplyDeleteI'd like that, Donovan has potential to be a great character. The scene where he threatens Sheriff Stilinski was really good and I'd love to see him become one of the good guys, but I think I'm being too hopeful.
ReplyDeleteKira's battle against Stacy and her powers evolving. The girls useful than Scott in this episode or maybe lately. I think that's a way you could say it. But overall, girl power triumphs, need more episodes like that.
ReplyDeleteTracy
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry but Donovan is a CRAP character and i was hoping we'd never see him again and the Docs should've killed him.
ReplyDeleteSome fans are making me worry that Stiles' face in the promo means that he won't believe her about the Docs and thinks she didn't save Tracy.
ReplyDeleteWell, we all like different things and I knew the actor from another series so that might be why I liked him in the first place. Plus I love a good story of redemption :)
ReplyDeleteThis episode was girl power full mode and it was great and refreshing. I'm not a big fan of Kira but her fight scene was awesome! As usual, Lydia and Malia are the best.
ReplyDeleteI get that, i fell in love with Tracy because i know HER from another show, Hayden too.
ReplyDeleteI like them as well, Hayden could bring a good storyline with Liam and Tracy was very intresting. As I said before I would have loved to see Jackson help her and she could have become a really badass character =D
ReplyDeleteYeah she would've been!
ReplyDeleteKira's partial(complete?) transformation was not bad either.
ReplyDeleteI like the part that Kira has gone Uzumaki Naruto. That was awesome.
ReplyDeleteHer character died there in TVD out of somewhat necessity because her husband, Linden Ashby was moving to LA for Teen Wolf (which she also recus in).
ReplyDeleteOk phew! I don't know why i let some fan scare me, especially when they're a lydia shipper.
ReplyDeleteAt least she learned to go STRAIGHT into a fight and not wave around a weapon, hopefully that continues even if i HATE her, now she needs to learn how to fight.
ReplyDeleteyeh, will be good to explore Lydia more because they really slow burned that one.
ReplyDeleteKira fights and cuts off Tracy's tail and Malia beating but not killing Tracy.
ReplyDeleteYou hate her? Why? Wait is this because she's Scott's girlfriend instead of Allison? Or just because you dislike how she fights?
ReplyDeleteI believe they're actual name is Dread Doctors (which makes sense they're Doctors, the cause night terrors and they're terrifying). Jeff Davis has used the term.
ReplyDeleteMakes a ton of sense.
ReplyDeleteEverything about her, she doesn't fight, she whines about breaking rules when it's her job to break rules and because she was brought in as THAT, the only thing i like that comes from her is her parents.
ReplyDeleteCool, is it like Pokemon?
ReplyDeleteIvan she fights all the time. And has proven to be quite good at it. Doesn't break rules? Dude she's a super powered teenager not a dark vigilante of the night. She shouldn't. But just because she lacks Malia and Stiles' lack of carefreeness when it comes to breaking the law doesn't mean she's a bad character (though she has like when her and Scott stole her phone from the cops) she was brought in to help learn about Bardo and her powers and to fight ONI. Not to break the law.
ReplyDeleteNope. It's about ninjas.
ReplyDeleteBut come on she's squirmy about it, which i guess should be admirable but not after this long after dealing with all this supernatural stuff in Beacon Hills. Even Scott the most trustworthy character to a fault doesn't squirm at breaking the law anymore, i meant that she doesn't win, the only fights she ever won were against her own mythology: the Oni. Funny you say Derek was the dark vigilante of the show, Hoechlin actually wanted to be Batman LOL.
ReplyDeleteOoh ninjas!
ReplyDeleteI think this season will be focused on developping the girls' powers. Especially Malia with her flashbacks/PTSD and Kira with her evolution. Lydia seems like she's somewhat more in control of her Banshee powers but as we saw in the first episode, she developped new skills too. For now that's what is most interesting to me this season. I'm kinda over Scott, I think he's very overrated. I miss Derek and Chris Argent though. Hope we'll see them in 5B at some point.
ReplyDeleteDude she just cut a tail off I don't think you can make that claim. Scott still doesn't break it a ton, and besides dealing with thec supernatural
ReplyDeleteYup. Naruto is the actual name of the anime (and the title character himself). :D
ReplyDeleteWell. they are married so it made sense as she can't commit to both shows especially if one is now too far away.
ReplyDeleteI really thought last season we were going to explore Lydia's powers since it was supposed to be the Year of Lydia. So nice to see them doing it now. I agree that it is way overdue, not just from a storytelling angle but from a common sense angle too. If you have powers, the first thing you're going to want to do is figure them out especially if people keep trying to kill you.
ReplyDeleteFor me it's not so much that I'm over Scott, he and Stiles will always be the foundation of Teen Wolf for me. It's more that the girls have been shafted for so long that I am excited to see them working together more and kicking butt together. Plus, they do need to get a grasp on their powers. That just makes sense. I miss Argent and Derek too but for right now I'm just content that they didn't shove Lydia off on her own like they usually do.
ReplyDeleteOh yeah they definitely need to keep Lydia with the others. A character with their own storyline but away from the rest of the cast gets boring really fast and I love Lydia. I hope Kira gets a bit more of a personality because for now I find it really hard to relate to her in any way. That's my problem with Scott, too. He's the main character, the hero, but I find him bland for the most part. Now, I do like him. He's just not in my top five characters on this show.
ReplyDeleteI never understood the plan to isolate Lydia so much, especially since Holland is a great actress. Last year it really bothered me because Lydia was worth millions on the deadpool list and was largely helpless and yet they still had her wandering around on her own for most of the season. It would seem like someone would at leat play bodyguard.
ReplyDeleteLydia is part of the pack but this episode was the first time in a long time that I felt they remembered that. I need her in on more of the pack's decisions and exploring the Big Bad together with them instead of always on her own. I think that's another reason why I like Kira and Lydia scenes. They always make Kira more interesting and they tie Lydia to a character that isn't always Parrish.
I agree that Kira needs something. For me, she got all the problems of Allison's character but none of the benefits. They are moving in a positive direction with her as the fight shows but I need her to continue to grow as an individual character and not just be primarily Scott's girlfriend. She needs as much character development and Lydia needs powers development.
I like Scott. I really do, but I agree that he can come off as boring sometimes, The true alpha thing still drives me nuts, but mostly he's too naive. I get that he's the moral center and that he's the stalwart hero, but he's been through a lot. It should have changed him in some way. Instead he is largely that same goofy kid from the pilot, just with powers and a bigger circle of friends. Nobody goes through that much danger, fear, and horror without getting scarred in some way. The fact that they don't seem to want Scott to change in any way is hampering his appeal to me. I get that he needs to stay the moral center and I get that they don't need 2 Stiles characters. I don't want Scott to get all cynical and snarky, but I do think we need to see him progress as a character and some consequences from the circumstances they have been through.
For Scott, to me, it's also in the acting. Tyler's better than he was before but he still lacks abilities to show a wider range of emotions. So when the camera focuses on him for too long, you notice that he basically has one expression most of the time. And when you put him next to Stiles, who's a lot more expressive, well, it pales.
ReplyDeleteThe most memorable scene for me was Kira when she cut off the girl's tail and caught fire, lol. Very impressive, visually speaking.
ReplyDeleteTrue
ReplyDeleteWow she cut a TAIL while Malia almost got killed by her, seriously? Sorry but you can't make an argument about her fighting skills when she barely fought and Malia got the brunt of it. When their investigations require them to break it Scott doesn't break a sweat, whereas the fox whines about coming in a ROOM.
ReplyDeleteShe cut off the tail and forced Tracy to back off thus ensuring no one died;. Ivan you can't deny Kira's effectiveness. Besides Malia she was the only one to do anything effective against her.
ReplyDeleteIn THIS fight yes i can't deny that she took a dangerous part of the Kanima that Tracy was away. But in every other fight she's as effective as a snail walking.
ReplyDeleteRight except for any fight with the Oni. And in season four everyone else was just as effective against berserkers so it's not really fair to say she can't fight.
ReplyDeleteRight, in any fight that's against her own mythology, in any other fight she sucks.
ReplyDeleteExcept the last fight disproves that.
ReplyDeleteNope. Sorry. Cannot pick one. So I picked 'Other' here's my list. Sheriff getting ready for date, The Kanima reveal and the final fight sequence with Kira going full Kitsune and Malia kicking but.
ReplyDeleteAll she did was cut off a tail, Malia went hand-to-hand combat with Tracy.
ReplyDeleteDude she still fought and blocked her attacks. She was still critical in ensuring everyone lived.
ReplyDeleteNo Malia did, basically she can't fight unless she lets her fox spirit out.
ReplyDeleteDude she fought off Tracy and forced a retreat, And again 3B disproves that.
