After a lackluster season 4, Teen Wolf came on strong in the opening 2 episodes of season 5. It feels like the show is back to true form and I can't wait to see what happens next. Every week, we will have Best Scene polls for Teen Wolf where you get to chose your favorite. If your favorite is not listed, there will always be an Other choice for you to vote. If you do choose other, please mention the scene you liked best in the comments. We will also have random other polls throughout the season so if you have a great topic, let me know.
Best Scene polls will usually be posted on Wednesdays and sometimes Tuesdays. I apologize for the lateness of this one. I got wrapped up in other things and forgot to post them. The Best Scene poll for 5.02 will be up shortly as well. As always, you can only choose one scene but if you struggled to vote, we'd love to hear about it in the comments. In fact, please share about your favorite scene regardless. It's interesting to hear how different scenes struck people.
Don't forget to add your thoughts in the comments below.
There were a ton of great scenes in the premiere, so much so that narrowing it down was hard. I loved Lydia finally kicking butt and apeearing to have her banshee powers under control. I can't wait to see more on that. In the end though, I went with the Senior Scribe and how they honored missing characters Derek and Allison. It was a touching way to include them in the moment.
ReplyDelete"AA" :(
ReplyDeleteThe senior scribe. Seeing Derek initials there and Scott adding Allison next to his initials....Makes me miss them even more. I'm glad that they were included(:
ReplyDeleteAlso I found out Derek won't be back until 5B. I thought he would have made a few appearances in 5A!...Does anyone else feel that Derek should have been made a true Alpha instead of Scott?
That was so bittersweet.
ReplyDeleteI am glad to hear that Derek will be back in 5B. For some reason I thought he was gone for the whole season. I like how they included his and Allison's intials too.
ReplyDeleteI'm torn 3 ways. I loved the opening scene with Lydia, the senior scribe and finding out the entire season is a flashback.
ReplyDeleteI can't go wrong with either of those votes but the last one gives me chills. It makes the season feel a little ominous and eerie, which I love.
I thought Derek was gone for the entire season too, it's a relief to know he'll be back at some point in 5B. Even though his screen time has been little, I miss his presence. Knowing he could pop up at anytime to lend a hand.
ReplyDeleteAgreed, especially since he was finally getting an interesting arc and good character development.
ReplyDeleteGood choices. I agree that the end reveal was a great shocker that heightens the whole season arc. I would have voted for that one myself but I hated all the future spoilers in it. Other than that, it's brilliant. In the rewatch I am coming up with all kinds of theories. For instance what if the vision Malia saw wasn't PTSD like I saw some tweets suggest, but actually Lydia trying to give hints banshee-style about meeting her mom. What if what Former ScienceMom was saying to Tracy about dreams being warmups to help us through anxious times wasn't really about Tracy but actually about the pack seeing things instead. Maybe Malia's only the first. Anyway, my brain is full of Teen Wolf and theories that will likely not come true but are fun to ponder anyway.
ReplyDeleteDefinitely Lydia breaking out of Eichen House, I love her new powers and she looked so badass! The lobotomy scene comes second (I'm super excited about what's coming next this season) and then Scott beating that power-stealing creature. The Senior Scribe scene was nice and I'm glad they included Derek and Allison's names, sometimes writers forget that gone or dead characters even existed, that being said I've never liked Allison so it was a sweet moment but not the best.
ReplyDeleteOh these theories have my head spinning and Koky added another one a few days ago about Sheriff Stiles being a little off. I'm going to re-watch this weekend.
ReplyDeleteDavis said that lydia was faking catatonia.
ReplyDeleteA CHIMERA?! Who i haven't that term in so long!
ReplyDeleteScott writing Allison's name, the fact that this show hasn't forgotten Allison is a testament to Davis, she never should've died, she should've been with Scott during that. Scott beating the crap out of that Glowing Wolf thinking he can actually steal the power of a True Alpha made me laugh. The Malia and Stiles scene, both at the Jeep and at the school, they just keep getting more and more cute, also i loved that little tidbit of Stiles calling Malia "Mal".
ReplyDeleteAll I care about is that Lydia has finally learned to fight. It's been on my wish lsit since season 1 along with Stiles.
ReplyDeleteLydia learning to defend herself is a dream come true. I have no idea why Lydia and Stiles did not sign up for the first self-defense class they could find immediately after learning about the supernatural.
ReplyDeleteGood call on the chimera. They are definitely Frankenstein-ing something. I wonder if they need Scott's true alpha power to finalize whatever they are making or if they just want to take him down before he can stop them.
ReplyDeleteI love that Davis has not forgotten the characters that are gone. It adds to the continuity and gives the audience little Easter eggs. I do wish someone would remember Boyd though. He seems to be largely forgotten
ReplyDeleteWell, even if they didn't want to spend money on the self-defense class they could have trained with their friends. Exactly, Lydia has been pretty much defenseless for so long! She is my favourite character on Teen Wolf and I'm hoping to see a lot of her this season. I wonder who taught her how to fight, I think it was either Parrish or Ethan. I'd love if it was the latter, that could turn into a great friendship. Stiles won't learn how to fight, at least not this season. I only hope he will someday but I think the writers want to keep him like this.
ReplyDeleteI woke up today with a raging urge to re-watch the first two episodes. When the guy returned to the docs with the broken arm they said he was supposed to remove obstacles. Maybe it's not that they want to use his power as prevent Scott from using it to stop them?
ReplyDeleteVery good point. I always thought Allison should have taught Lydia some bowhunting skills at the very least. Maybe give her the taser. The previews show Parrish teaching Lydia to fight so I don't think we will be seeing Ethan this season. Of course, I never thought we'd be seeing Aiden so I could be wrong. I agree that Stiles won't learn self-defense. I doubt he learns at all because they seem to like Stiles to out-think the evil that comes after them while Scott over-powers them.
ReplyDeleteThat's the way I took that scene too. It seems premature then because apparently Scott and pack haven't noticed any fishy in the last 6 months. It's not until they send Walled Werewolf after Scott that any of them sense something is wrong. That seems counterproductive when secrecy has been working so well for them so far.
ReplyDeleteUnless, perhaps, they're about to make a move that will be noticed and they're trying to take him out before they make the move?
ReplyDeleteGood point. They did say something about almost at their deadline so maybe they are about to start making some noise in their plan.
ReplyDeleteHe said it was a plan that went awry so when she fought off the staff and got caught, she became a prisoner. He also said that she went there for a legitimate reason, also Valack being out of his cage and interrogating lydia is a situation of the inmates taking over Eichen House. Another thing he said was that Valack's name isn't just a name, he said to look up the name he was given, the Demon Valac. An interesting tidbit he gave about Derek was that initially he was supposed to be a bad guy but Tyler brought so much more to the character and his interaction with Stiles was so good that he decided to leave him a good guy.
ReplyDeleteWait which is the twin that's dead? Aiden or Ethan?
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for the info. That was very interesting. I wonder if that means that the people who are locked up in Eichen House are really the staff. It also explains why every orderly there is a creepster douche so far.
ReplyDeleteAiden is dead. He was the one Lydia hooked up with.
ReplyDeleteDavis said the staff are actually just creepsters that flock there, so it's probably a mix of the two, he also said that basically no one will leave that place healed. I don't like the Yukimuras but he also said that Yukimura is a weapons maker.
ReplyDeleteOh i thought that he was alive, my bad.
ReplyDeleteI'm shocked, somehow I didn't catch the preview... However I watched it and now I'm even more excited!!!!! I'm still hoping Ethan returns, I liked him in S3 and he could provide informations on Theo.
ReplyDeleteI really like Stiles and Malia.... they have a great chemistry IMO.
