It amazes me that GoT with so many illegal videostreaming and downloads still manages to pull such high number of viewers
ReplyDeleteCrazy GOT numbers there and HBO must be delighted True Detective is doing well despite the change of cast and backlash.
ReplyDeleteIs the backlash limited to the critics? Or is it widespread? Because, I for one, have been enjoying this season.
ReplyDeleteI critics have been very harsh on S2, perhaps a little too harsh.
ReplyDeleteI've seen a lot of fans that aren't happy with this season as well. Though many (myself included) admit that a lot of it is because S1 was just so good its impossible to live up to. Also there seems to be a lot less talk about this season's story, with S1 it was insane how big a talking point it became across pop culture sites and places like Tumblr and Reddit. Most of the articles seem to be more about how disappointing S2 is rather than people discussing crazy theories about what might happen.
However, I'm now seeing a backlash to the backlash! I'm slowly getting into this season and I think it still has a lot of potential. It was always going to be hard to much that sense of wonder S1 gave us. I think it will be reevaluated by the end of the season and some people might come around to it.
The fact that its doing well in the ratings suggest its found an audience. I wonder though what will happen with a potential S3. HBO will probably want another one, but I'm not sure if Nic Pizzolatto will want to do it.
Cause a lot of people feel the need to watch it live, for either excitement or to not get spoiled.
ReplyDeleteNo surprise that GoT continues to kill it.... so far enjoying S2 of True D, and Ballers as well
ReplyDeleteYeah, GOT is the hardest show for someone to remain unspoiled after it airs I feel. Social media in particular just explodes whenever an episode airs, the spoilers show up everywhere.
ReplyDeleteForums as well you get Spoiled
ReplyDeleteAlot tv watchers spoils Game of Thrones on Gamefaqs.com
Yeah, but if you take the amount of people in the world that have access to internet/TV and take away the ones who watch it illegal, it's crazy how they still manage to score good ratings.
