“We live in a primitive time—don’t we, Will?—neither savage nor wise. Half measures are the curse of it. Any rational society would either kill me or give me my books.” - Red Dragon
Ah, I love the idea that his cell is able to be a library! Very interesting change!!!! Alana is still black and white and red all over--be interested in what she has to say to Hannibal! Looks like Will stayed closer to home in this version. No sunny Florida, dock, and palm trees! And loving the atmosphere in those Francis Dolarhyde shots!!! XD
Will Graham didn't get this lucky. http://images.spoilertv.com/cache/Hannibal/Season%203/Promotional%20Epsiode%20Photos/Episode%203.08%20-%20The%20Great%20Red%20Dragon/16-2_FULL.jpg
I don't know if you read one of my last replies to you, on the other Hannibal thread, but the last thing I wrote was that it could be possible that @debsterfanforever could be right that Fuller might have Hannibal escape earlier than he does in the novels and that whatever Clarice's introduction would of been to Hannibal might have been quite different, as he did mention not going smoothly into SOTL and that he was going to radicalize something from the novels???
Well I got to thinking and this Library might be proof that she was right!
" If your profile helps us capture Buffalo Bill in time to save Catherine Martin, the Senator promises you a transfer to the VA Hospital at Oneida Park, New York with a view of the woods nearby. Maximum security still applies, of course. You'd have reasonable access to books. Best of all, though, one week of the year, you'd get to leave the hospital and go here - [She produces a map] Plum Island, every day of that week, you may walk on the beach. You may swim in the ocean for up to one hour. Under SWAT team surveillance, of course. And there you have it...If Catherine Martin dies, you get nothing." Silence of the Lambs
This is first exchange with Clarice, the other is a her most painful memory! So if Hannibal has access to "his books" NOW, then it might be he began this exchange with Jack (I would of said Will, but I do not think they meet in again until episode 9) instead for information about Francis Dolerhyde...
This is not Hannibal's cell, but the way it looks to him in his mindpalace, can't believe none of you have noticed this. Watch the Red Dragon promo if you want to see how vast his cell can be in his mind.
It's like a zoo animals in a cage. "Look at Hannibal the Cannibal in his natural habitat." It's more luxurious, yes, but also a humiliation by Chilton. He's on display for ogling.
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
Doctor Lecter's cell looks lovely.

Probably psychology tortured or manipulated a few guards. Or some kind of blackmail of Chilton.
ReplyDeleteDamn. Hannibal's cell looks great. Very homey. Hell, i would kill a few people to live in that cell for the rest of my life.
ReplyDeleteIf Hannibal's cell was an apartment in Amsterdam or London, it would be listed for upwards of a million euros.

Alana looks like the Red Dragon to me! I swear she wants to eat him! :p
