Extant - SpoilerTV Comic-Con Interview with Executive Producers

“Extant” continues its new direction in season two. The Halle Berry science fiction drama has switched out some of the characters and started new storylines. Berry plays Molly Woods, an astronaut who is impregnated by aliens on a space mission. The new season saw two main characters leave the show: Molly’s husband, played by Goran Visnjic, and Molly’s friend and co-worker, played by Camryn Manheim. But the series has boosted the cast with some new actors, including Jeffrey Dean Morgan as a mysterious police officer, and David Morrissey, a general with personal ties to Molly. The storyline has steered away from the men who were after Molly following her space encounter. Season two focuses more on her attempts to track down her alien son and save the human race.

Unfortunately, none of the cast members attended the press room for “Extant.” (What a bummer. We would have loved to talk to Halle Berry!) But we were excited to talk to executive producers Craig Shapiro and Mickey Fisher about why they revamped season two and what you can expect from the series moving forward.
