Elodie Yung Cast as Elektra in the Netflix Original Series 'Marvel’s Daredevil'
Elodie Yung (“G.I. Joe: Retaliation,” “District 13: Ultimatum”) joins the next season of “Marvel’s Daredevil,” streaming only on Netflix in 2016!
Yung will play Elektra, a mysterious woman from Matt Murdock’s past whose dangerous and exotic ways may be more than he can handle. The first season of “Marvel’s Daredevil” made reference to Elektra, but now Yung will portray one of Daredevil's fan-favorite characters. Elektra marks the most recent major addition to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, as she will join Jon Bernthal as Frank Castle in the upcoming season of the Netflix Original Series “Marvel’s Daredevil.”
“After a worldwide search, we found in Elodie the perfect actress to embody both Elektra’s impressive and deadly physicality, as well as her psychological complexity,” said Executive Producer and Head of Marvel Television, Jeph Loeb. “Paired with Charlie as Matt Murdock, the two will bring one of the most beloved and tumultuous comic book relationships to life with all the accompanying sparks and spectacular action sequences the show is known for.”
Season 2 of Daredevil will hit Netflix in 2016.

Not too familiar with the actor but HELL YES!! Elektra!! :)
ReplyDelete'Forgive me father' for I am so bloody excited!!
Awesome choice!!
ReplyDeleteGreat news.
ReplyDeletehot
ReplyDeleteBeautiful! What do they mean by tumultuous? Are they doomed?
ReplyDeleteNever heard of her, but this is going to be amazing anyway.
ReplyDeletePretty much. All of Matt's comic relationships are doomed (so far the notable exception is Queen Kirsten McDuffie). Matt and Elektra... That's one fucked up and borderline unhealthy relationship. VERY doomed.
ReplyDeleteWHOA! Elektra is coming! Oh man, Matt and Foggy will be SHOCKED when they cross paths with her again. I actually hope she'll be teaming up with Frank Castle.
ReplyDeleteI think S2 is going to far surpass S1 and I liked S1.
ReplyDeleteI don't know about her acting skills but she absolutely looks the part!
ReplyDeleteBullseye, Punisher AND Elektra plus most of the S1 cast returning... I hope they aren't biting off more than they can chew. That being said, I'm excited to have Elektra in the MCU and hope they do her justice after that utter drivel of a movie from 10 years ago. (Jennifer Garner is awesome and thoroughly proved her action chops on Alias, but that was straight up bad... brutally bad.) Not familiar with the actress cast so I can't comment on that.
ReplyDeleteI haven't seen her in anything, but she looks pretty good, I like her so far. I hope she will deliver.
ReplyDeleteDaredevil is shooting so early I think since it coming out in 2016......I guess it requires more work? Plus casting news when we could have gotten them later on
ReplyDeleteDamn, poor guy, who's Queen Kirsten McDuffie?
ReplyDeleteKirsten McDuffie is a kickass attorney and the woman without fear. Also happens to be Matt's current girlfriend, but that's just a side job. Kirsten is a star and the queen of everything. Kirsten McDuffie for MCU 2k15. Imo the best of all of Matt's canon romantic interests. Kirsten is BADASS.
ReplyDeleteTwo videos from D13... One behind the scenes and on fight scene.

Sounds great to me. The Actress did well in G.I. Joe Retaliation and I'm sure shell be a great addition to the show.
ReplyDeleteShould've been Sofia Boutella.
ReplyDeleteAnd after everything with everyone Foggy and Matt seems like the most "healthy" relationship they both had. lol.
ReplyDeleteI like her. I wish for more flashbacks. Season two it's gonna be good
ReplyDeleteI thought I remember that Elektra was supposed to be Greek and thought that they hinted on the show during a conversation between Matt/Foggy about a "Greek girl" that Matt had a relationship with during college... but of course that may not have been said Elektra.... but really looking forward to seeing how she will be introduced to this excellent show
ReplyDeleteSo, are we going to see Matt naked (and not because they kick the hell out of him?)
ReplyDeleteLovely news!
I ship him and Foggy in fanon (and I adore their friendship in canon) so I'm not jealous :-P
She is! She's absolutely amazing. She's not a vigilante, she's a lawyer, but man, her attitude! She's not going to be just 'Daredevil's girlfriend', she wants to be the STAR of the story. And one time she gets kidnapped by a bad guy and Matt freaks out? She saves herself, defeats the bad guy, and it turns out the bad guy didn't even know about Daredevil, he was after Kirsten JUST BECAUSE SHE IS KIRSTEN MCDUFFIE. She gets so excited to have got her first nemesis that Matt pretty much face-palms.
ReplyDeleteShe looks sooooo soooooo HOT! Can't wait for S02.
ReplyDeleteCuckoo! LOL
ReplyDeleteIm guessing she is also a Lawyer and more than likely represents someone on the opposite side to Matt and Foggy
ReplyDeleteI think there IS definetly too much to chew there. One of those should go. Id actually get rid of Bulllseye from the mix. Having the Punisher is a lot, having Punisher and Elektra is just icing.
ReplyDeleteThey are obviously going to bring back the Hand storyline and Stick will make a comeback
She can still be Greek in-canon. She's the daughter of a Greek diplomat in NYC, she might be of a mixed background easily. *shrug*
ReplyDeleteWe're not sure if Bullseye is coming. I can see them limiting themselves to Frank and Elektra, that really is enough baddie power. If they team up against Daredevil... I can dream.
ReplyDeleteShe is a lot less concerned with morality than Matt is, which also makes her unpredictable. She's been Frank's teammate on Thunderbolts, there's that too.
ReplyDeleteI wonder about that. She didn't graduate in the comics, did she? I wonder if they'll keep that in. After all, Foggy DID wonder what happened to that Greek girl. So perhaps it's a hint that she left Columbia.
ReplyDeleteHopefully this time we'll get lucky. No play and all action-Not fair.LOL!
ReplyDeleteI don't anything about this Elecktra character from the comics. Can you tell me why Matt and her relationship is fucked up and borderline unhealthy relationship?I'm dying to know.
ReplyDeletePlus, isn't Fisk returning? He has yet to fully become the Kingpin, which is why (according to the showrunners) they didn't refer to him as such in S1. That's a LOT on Matt's plate.
ReplyDeleteShe is actually an assassin-for-hire initially...
ReplyDeleteWell for starters, Elektra started out as an assassin-for-hire. Given that Matt draws the line at killing, period, even of criminals, that's a pretty big obstacle.
ReplyDeleteShe sort of looks like a Greek-Asian so I don't think that will be a problem
ReplyDeleteI haven't caught up with all the black widow comics, but his relationship with natasha romanoff wasn't that bad was it? If I recall? I know they remained friends from what I can remember. (I'd love to see Charlie Cox and Scarlett Johansson do a scene together, it'll never happen probably, but it would be so awesome!)
ReplyDeleteSo how did Matt get involved with her romantically? Seems odd, doesn't it?
ReplyDeleteShe has a great fighting scene in GI Joe: Retaliation too.

I only know of Elodie Yung because she played Miriam Wu in the English language version of Girl with the Dragon Tattoo.
ReplyDeleteThanks, I have not seen that movie. Good fight scene!
ReplyDeleteSubstitute sai in place of the wakizashi and I can already see Elektra!
Its possible. It all comes down to how closely the show mirrors the comics . I hope it actually dosnt.
ReplyDeleteShe might of left University or transferred BECAUSE of the breakup with Matt (although I doubt it). Maybe it was her chance to be 'normal'
Wow so is Matt the ONLY Hell's Kitchen vigilante to actually have a conscience?
ReplyDeleteInitially, so does she change?
