"ARROW" NEWS: NEAL McDONOUGH JOINS THE CAST FOR SEASON FOUR AS DAMIEN DARHK

· Neal McDonough (Band of Brothers, Justified, Captain America: The First Avenger) has joined the cast of ARROW as a series regular for season four.

· McDonough will play the DC Comics character Damien Darhk.

· Damien Darhk is a mysterious and sophisticated villain, and an adversary of the late Ra's Al Ghul. Now the leader of his own clandestine group, this cunning foe will prove to be one of the Arrow's greatest challenges.

Returning for its fourth season Wednesday, October 7, at 8/7c on The CW, Arrow stars Stephen Amell, Katie Cassidy, David Ramsey, Willa Holland, Emily Bett Rickards, with John Barrowman and Paul Blackthorne, special appearance by Neal McDonough. The executive producers are Greg Berlanti, Marc Guggenheim, Andrew Kreisberg, Wendy Mericle and Sarah Schechter. Produced by Bonanza Productions Inc. in association with Berlanti Productions and Warner Bros. Television, Arrow is based on the characters from DC Comics.

    He actually voiced Oliver Queen in one of those animated shorts put out by DC. I really liked him on Suits so I'm happy with the casting. This should be great.

    Yeah I want her to be torn between sides too but Darhk is really not the best choice, I'd go for Darhks IT specialist, someone that still CAN return to the good side unlike Darhk. Seeing Felicity trying to save her dad from darkness would be cool. But using the big time baddie is the wrong choice.


    Plus it'd just be repeating the formula, Merlyn being Theas and Tommys dad, Ra's being Nyssas dad.

    Nah, I, just like most people, want the best storyline for Felicity that isn't reducing her to a ship-focal point. I love the girl but not the storylines she has been given. So I'll love her as long as I can speculate about the great arcs she might be given (obviously I'll be dissaointed once the writers degrade this great character to nothing more but a romantic focus) ^^

    He followed 30+ people back when #lovewins got through. Mostly people who supported it along Nina Dobrev and many others, so I didn't know what was going on there. There are a bunch of young actors so who knows.

    You're possibly right, but I always enjoy him as a villain so it hardly matters to me.
    Plus, Arrow is not really a show for nuance and subtlety... so an entertaining and well done bad guy will be enjoyed for it is - not what it could have been. At least by me.
