Thanks to arrowshieldfan for the heads up.
Was the choice of costume surprising?
A little bit. I didn't expect it to be as well-conceived as it was -- but at the same time, we've been talking about Diggle having some kind of concealment from the latter half of Season One, so I don't think you'll be disappointed.
What do you think of Diggle's connections to H.I.V.E.?
Well, he has a personal connection to H.I.V.E., because his brother was killed by Deadshot, who was hired by H.I.V.E., so there's a personal interest that he has in taking down that organization. And that's the big baddie for the season: H.I.V.E. and I think Damien Darhk and a few others. So Diggle's going to have a big, personal story this season. It will be, finally, Diggle's season!
How long do you stay mad at Oliver?
The whole season! No. They want to do that justice, right? Everyone at the end of Season Three was happy that Arrow was back and was going to continue the mission, except for Diggle. He had a personal problem with Arrow and it wasn't so much what he did with Lyla and kidnapping Lyla. It's the fact that he trusted Merlyn more than he did the team. And Diggle's a soldier, so if he can't trust him in the field, he'd rather not work with him.
But yes: They will kiss and make up.
Are there any DC characters that you personally would like to see stop by Starling
Yes. I'd like to see Bruce Wayne.
Not Batman, just Bruce Wayne. I want to see where that billionaire is, just in general. Like, is he a child whose parents just got killed? Is he part of the League of Assassins? Did he just come back from the League and he's a billionaire hanging out in Gotham? But if he's a contemporary of Oliver Queen, they have to know each other, right? Like, how many good-looking billionaires like that are walking around? So I would love to see Bruce Wayne.
...And now that you have Supergirl, don't you have Clark Kent? I would love to hear the names "Metropolis" and "Gotham" someplace in our universe. We'll see.

Great article.
ReplyDeletePerfect photo. Describes them perfectly. Oliver is doing something frustrating. And Diggle is 100% done lol.
ReplyDeleteI'll come back later when I read the entire article.
Which episode was that in?
ReplyDeleteIt was a deleted scene from the Pilot or episode 2 if I remember correctly. They were talking to Moira. I've seen bts video of filming it.
ReplyDeleteWell, I vastly prefer the beef being about Malcolm and kidnapping Lyla, but they seriously need to make that clear in the show.
ReplyDeleteI will take 1-2 episodes of Diggle being angry at Oliver, after that, I'm pretty confident it will start to feel like a continuation of season 3 angst and I really, really, really need that to be done with.
I think the interview indicate Diggle/Oliver relationship will be back to normal by episode 4....looks like Lyla is back with ARGUS and playing a bigger role?
ReplyDeleteHahahaha! I LOVE DAVID!!! Listen to him fanboy. I love him, he's so much fun, I can't wait for "Diggle Season" and i want my bromance back, so they better hurry up with the kissing! I dont want to wait for episode 15 for them to hug it out. And i want to see more scenes with Diggle and Lyla, i really do.
ReplyDeleteIf David gets his wish who should play Bruce Wayne .... and how old should he be ?
ReplyDeleteSweet interview! Really sweet. I hope we'll get a lot more Diggle, main story and a couple of Fbs.
ReplyDeletetoo bad we may never see the actual scene where deadshot kills Andy perhaps only the aftermath......deadshot is too important to the HIVE/diggle storyline and sucks we can't use him.
ReplyDeleteYeah, but I hope they tell a detailed story why he got killed.
ReplyDeleteAndy diggle was killed in starling by deadshot right? I sure we will get the aftermath and all that. We already know Darkh sent a associate to deadshot to kill Andy. The reason is still unknown so maybe we see Darkh explain his reason to diggle or another associate
ReplyDeleteNot sure if it was in Starling, but more or less that is how it went down.
ReplyDeleteI NEED A crossover with Supergirl to see Diggle's reaction to Kara!!!!!
ReplyDeleteI think the best way to show the motive for Andy death is season 1 like flashback with the undertaking/Queen Gambit bomb. They just have to change with Andy diggle murder. It would be a well developed structure planned.
ReplyDeleteWell we could see it but from Andy's perspective. It wouldn't be difficult to have Damien (or someone) call someone with the order. Then switch to Andy and have the event play out. Then switch to Diggle to see his fallout.
ReplyDeleteAhhh, okay. Shame as that was a solid photo of the future brotherhood between the two.
ReplyDeleteWhy does everyone now believe Bruce is trained by the league? One movie and now everyone runs with it.
ReplyDeleteIt would make sense on Arrow though? I mean because it seems like most people have...but on the other side it would feel silly that both him and Oliver would have, two billionaire
ReplyDeletevigilantes on the league? Naaah...
