Well that answers that question. There has been some speculation Oliver might run for office since he did so in the comics.
ReplyDeleteJeri Ryan, that's fun!
ReplyDeleteI like her. Good casting although it doesn't sound like she sticks around for long.lol
ReplyDeleteShows up just in time to be killed. Sounds like Arrow.
ReplyDeletesomeone comment she was going to be casted because the casting director follow her......strong choice even though she has to play an older character
ReplyDeleteYeah it does. Lol
ReplyDeleteIs she 'Patricia' the family friend of Moira ' s with the daughter and political dreams we got that spoiler about a while back ?
ReplyDeleteI love her. I'm watching Leverage these days so this is awesome.
ReplyDeleteSo DD really is going to run for mayor. I guess that's a reason for Oliver to get involved in her campaign to protect her.
Awesome :D
ReplyDeleteLoved her on Leverage, guess her being a friend of Moira gives her some connections to the entire cast of characters.
Shippers get on with shipping Lanceforth and Jesslyn
do you remember a while again someone say Jeri Ryan was going to be cast because casting director on arrow follow her on twitter
ReplyDeleteGood Lord, Arrow just got one of the sexiest women that was ever conceived.
ReplyDeleteYeah. It was Spin. The actors he follows keep getting cast.
ReplyDeleteYup
ReplyDeleteMost likely. As with all of the casting calls in previous seasons, it seems 'Patty' was never going to actually be her name.
ReplyDeleteThat would be awesome though. Quentin needs some action.
ReplyDeleteSo who is her daughter? The name Danforth doesn't ring any bells.
ReplyDeletewouldn't it too similar to season 2 with Blood vs Moira the secondary villains play a role in being mayor.....I guess it will be similar
ReplyDeleteLance could use some lovin'. Guy needs some fun.
ReplyDeleteThough so.
ReplyDeleteIsn't that character sticking around as a recurring character ?
I like her, but I can't recall seeing her in anything personally. It's a shame her character is going to die. But that's what happens when you run for office in this city.
ReplyDeleteHe could (and should) try to get into Felicitys moms pants. Or a threesome with Donna and Jessica....hubba hubba
ReplyDeleteYeah. Now a early 40's Oliver of the future I could see that arc.
ReplyDeleteThis time she's running against the big bad himself. And it won't be used as a plot device to reveal Thea's parentage and create drama within the Queen family.
ReplyDeleteMaybe then he'd be less tense all the time :P
ReplyDeletePeople already ship him with Donna. Paul and Charlotte even joke about it on Twitter.
ReplyDeleteFelicity's mom likes them younger....she was all over Oliver and Ray Palmer.
ReplyDeleteMaybe her daughter doesn't share her last name?
ReplyDeleteWhat if she's the mom of Olivers baby momma? Through her he could then learn about his seed having spread to Central City. Or McKenna? Didn't Oliver say that he and Tommy knew her from way back?
Hard to think of anyone else since all the "closer friends" have turned into super heroes.
What about her being Helenas mom?
Seven of Nine!!!! *Cheers*
ReplyDeleteYah, Danforth comes up blank really when it comes to DC Character...there was a mayor in Gotham City with Danforth as a middle name but that's about it.
ReplyDeleteyou'll love her

Jesus that be weird to see. And kinda cool. Be nice to see a happier Quentin. Also be cool to see him hang out with Joe West.
ReplyDeleteIf I remember correctly, yes. Probably something like Blood.
ReplyDeleteOf course that's the scene you chose.
ReplyDeleteUgh, men!
Damn censorship Mac. Damn it to hell.
ReplyDeleteMoira had a PI run a background check on baby mama so it can't be the daughter of one of her close friends. I also don't think it's McKenna. She met Moira more than once and they never mentioned her mother.
ReplyDeletebut hell, how could she say no to these two

an "old friend" of moira queen? amusing coincidence since on voyager jeri was "seven of nine" and susanna was the borg queen.
ReplyDeleteI hated Tara
ReplyDeleteSo then Jeri wouldn't be guest staring but recurring right ?
ReplyDeletelol, at least Eliot got to see her butt naked, at least he looked like he did :P
ReplyDeleteBut yeah, maybe Oliver does us a favor and "accidentally" shoots her bra off
That was actually the first Tara scene I found on youtube, the only other one they had was the one with Tara choking her out.
ReplyDeleteAnd how would you sell an actress to someone that hasn't seen her before?
I hated her at first too but I grew to like her.
ReplyDeleteOh I hope he shoots off more than just her bra. :)
ReplyDeleteWith a scene that showcases her acting talents!
ReplyDeleteAre you really mad at me for doing that? lol
ReplyDeletesome fans have been turned onto Arrow by showcasing Stephens abs, that's no different here.
Interesting. Then she must be someone we've seen on the show.
ReplyDeleteIf Felicity, Laurel and Sara would become step sisters, wouldn't that mean that Oliver has officially banged three sisters in the same family?
ReplyDeleteHey that scene is beautiful and Mac did a good job. Lol. At least we're not as bad as r/watchfortheplots subreddit.
ReplyDeletebut us guys are the sexists, right ;)
ReplyDeletehttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xvxdpv5BKoo
And shots returned.
ReplyDeleteI have no clue. They keep giving these cryptic clues and hints. That's a big name for a one episode role though.
ReplyDeleteI think I might actually kill for that. Or at least sacrifice to Cthulhu.
ReplyDeleteHad to be done, especially when talking about Arrow having a double standard about showing skin is not the best thing to have.
ReplyDeleteThe skin-ration is off anyway, remember me again...when was the last time we actually saw some exposed skin on Arrows females? Right....once
Not mad. Disappointed. I hate objectifying people. Men and women.
ReplyDeleteit can't be Helena mom. I believe the scoop mention thea and Oliver knows the daughter for a long time and Helen was only known post island.. I think it is McKenna's mom
ReplyDeleteWhy? She was never really one of them, i mean she respected their code and abided by it but she never easily belonged.
ReplyDeleteHave I shared any videos like that before? Just because they exist doesn't mean I approve of them.
ReplyDeleteBesides what like three bra scenes (Felicity twice, one McKenna, and maybe a Nyssa and Sara one) yeah we don't get much compared to the Amell shiftlessness (though I believe the quantity at times is affected by Amell requesting them so he can do all the stunts).
ReplyDeletehttp://www.spoilertv.com/2015/06/latest-from-eonline-various-shows-23rd.html
ReplyDelete"The CW comic book show is getting some star power next season! Arrow is currently looking to cast a big name for the guest-starring role of Patty, a mayoral candidate who is deeply committed to her city and willing to risk her life to stand up for the people. Described as a female in her 50s-early 60s, Patty is a peer and an old friend of the late Moira Queen, and was once close with Oliver and Thea. She is also a mother, and cares for her daughter above all else…any guesses as to who that daughter is?"
It's okay to like them.
ReplyDeleteSo you'd rather have Oliver in shirts for the future? Good to know, MARK! NO MORE SKIN FOR THIS SHOW!
ReplyDeleteKoky, come on.
ReplyDeleteEven you've been drooling over shirtless scenes in the past (don't deny it, I'll find the saliva samples), showcasing someones body is by far not a bad thing and doesn't neglect someones talent.
It's a pretty weird world we live in. The one side encourages nudity while the other part remains prude and neglects the celebration of ones body as sexism.
You see, the human body is something beautiful, something that deserves to be showcased. It has nothing to do with sexism or downgrading someone for one's gender to show one of their unarguable most notable scenes in the past.
It's not wrong to enjoy seeing people without their shirts on or using their sexuality to get something done in the plot.
What IS wrong is income inequality, degrading people to JUST their looks and forgetting their other talents. Something that did not happen here.
You liked the Olicity sex scene if I'm not wrong?
I don't think I ever want to see that first picture again.
ReplyDeleteBut the second pic of Barrowman...
*prints out*
But that scene wasn't really objectifying anything, Tara is using her sexuality to lure in some easy to manipulate guy. It's not really degrading as much as it is showing that Tara was a character that had virtually no issues with her body.
ReplyDeleteNow, showing hours upon hours of pointless training sequences that offer NOTHING to the plot, that's objectifying.
Or showing the main character shirtless on every poster....that actually was quite sexist (but you don't see me complain about it)
Maybe she Ollie's baby mama's own mama, but then again....Arrow has created new characters that reflects known characters from the comics as Thea is to Mia Dearden, so who knows.
ReplyDeleteThen her daughter will probably a newly introduced character
ReplyDeletelol
ReplyDeleteI love how self concious Paul is about his chest hair, he knows it's not "in" anymore but loves it.
also I need to ask...where did you get the objectifying from? Because she appears halfway undressed?
ReplyDeleteI told you that I look fantastic in a towel,
ReplyDeletedon't even know that subreddit, in fact I'd say that scene utilizes ones sexuality perfectly. It adds to the plot, isn't unneccessary (looking at Game of Thrones and True Blood here) and showcases the characters wits.
What if she is Thea, Laurel, Sara, or Felicity's real mother ?
ReplyDeletethey did indeed click, what I'm kinda concerned about is Lance's storyline. I'm always expecting him to be a surprise death since the characters personal plot hasn't just been bad but always reverts back to the original "me hatez da vigilante" premise of his character
ReplyDeleteI wonder why Darkh would run for a public position. I guess he not someone who hide in the shadow. I guessing HIVE goals could be control of cities around the world for some agenda
ReplyDeleteI doubt that Thea has another secret parent,
ReplyDeleteSara makes little sense to me since Dinah was incredibly fixed on her.
I would get Laurel though, Dinah completely ignored Laurel when looking for Sara (and after she returned she gave even less sh*ts about Laurel).
I like Donna but maybe she just adopted Felicity to protect her from her baddie dad?
Lol you do. Well it's not always unnecessary on GoT. But yeah when a show is the reason the term sexposition exists you know there's too much sex on it.
ReplyDeleteYeah, of course not always but there were indeed several scenes that were unneeded.
ReplyDeleteI mean Ros existed soley for one purpose...
Oh definitely. (Well that and to show Joffrey's depravity and cruelty but that was more an add on) But they were nice if pointless scenes.
ReplyDeleteWell he reverted once. But we'll hopefully now that he knows Oliver's secret he can be all Jim Gordon like and involved (but you know, knowing the secret unlike Gordon).
ReplyDeleteI wonder if she will die in her episode and this will push Oliver to run for Mayor of Starling City and/or her death will cause another female super hero to be born.
ReplyDeleteFirst I like the training scenes because they are impressive. I love parkour. Not because he's shirtless, he could wear a hazmat suit I don't care. The stuff he does are cool.
ReplyDeleteSecond I objected sharing the scene to introduce the actress, not the scene itself.
He's not always shirtless on posters and that's partly to show his scars. You don't complain but I do. It’s why I hated it when Felicity said "he's Barry in Oliver's body." They reduced Oliver to abs and biceps.
That's exactly my point. I hated her at first because I didn't want her to ba a part of the team. But then I looked at it as what it is. She was a freelancer just helping the team for a while.
ReplyDeleteShe liked the Olicity scene on a emotional level. I agree completely with your point though it's not by default sexist for either sex.
ReplyDeleteYou know I love you despite all our differences but in all honesty I really don't see the issues here.
ReplyDeleteAnd yeah, it was the most popular scene of hers on youtube, so I took it. Sorry if that offended you
However the big season 1 poster draw WERE his abs, that was the whole point. The scars were gimmicks
I don't even remember that line, when did she say that?
People generally dislike replacements because the original is always the best but Tara was the best we could get during Ginas pregnancy. I'm glad we got her and Gina doing some phone-in shots
ReplyDeleteThat works LOL
ReplyDeleteI don't drool over shirtless scenes. And this is last time I'm going to tell you to watch it when you talk to me.
ReplyDeleteI also stopped reading after the first sentence.
I like her! Awwww, don't let her die too quickly = (
ReplyDeleteKoky it's not really fair to judge Mac because he experiences attraction and enjoys watching expression of that sexuality in a show, or movie, or other work of art. He's not some objectifying dick, or sexist. I get it. You don't enjoy that, but it's not right to judge someone for doing so. Especially when they're clearly don't see people as objects (which is not good).
ReplyDeleteI was mostly kidding in my first comment but the conversation escalated.
ReplyDeleteAh. Well to be fair he shouldn't have argued that you deep down do the same.
ReplyDeleteWhat exactly was so horrible about making a jokey comment about you drooling over a shirtless guy?
ReplyDeleteLet's get something straight here: that's one of the most harmless comments out there and I have virtually no idea where the language berrier hit here. Do you also get touched negatively over Homer Simpson drooling over seeing a donout?
Why do you demand respect while not willing to show it to others? Or at least willing to accept some sense of humor, if you were offended by that comment I can't help you and honestly feel that you are looking to be offended.
I think I might as well stop talking to you since you definiton of respect only goes into the way of people that agree with you, not those that challenge you
HOW did it escelate?! Come the hell on, there was no attack, nothing here ever went south until you started to get offended and up on your high horse.
ReplyDeleteMaybe she'll drop out early. Or is it one if those curses where the second you involved you're dead no matter what.
ReplyDeleteOf course, how dare I.
ReplyDeleteAnd there was no kidding in your comment, you accused me of sexism in your comment because....men?
ReplyDeleteActually yes. It's a ridiculous point. Human sexuality and perception is not the same between everyone. I agree with your general point, but that is a bit much.
ReplyDeleteBecause Kokys first comment didn't do the exact same? "Ugh, men" what a generalizing statement implying and accusing us of being depraved creatures only focusing on the nude aspect of that scene. Was THAT better? Completely implying something even more offensive? Sexism, that is.
ReplyDeleteI'm not sure why she got mad over the drooling comment but I sure as hell don't have to stand here and be accused of offending someone that did worse in the same breath.
Fine yes you're both guilty of something.
ReplyDeleteIt's time to jettison Laurel and Quentin. Whatever they had in mind for Laurel went out the window after Felicity caught on. Nothing they've done with her since (drunk, Canary but mostly punching bag) has worked. Quentin has also gone from nice guy turned victim into an annoying drunk. With Sara gone, these two no longer matter.
ReplyDeleteIt would be great if they both were killed or laurel got kidnapped for a year by the league and they trained her to become like sarah
ReplyDeleteExcellent! Loving the casting news for Arrow today :-)
ReplyDeleteyeh, Oliver and the Queen name in genoral does not mean anything to the people of Starling City anymore. So we might just have to ignore that part.
ReplyDeleteNahhh, Idts. This isn't TVD or TO. She'll have a shot. I'm not worried.
ReplyDeleteWe summoned that casting reveal ;-)
ReplyDeleteI'll told U it would be her ;-)
ReplyDeleteWell to be fair in those shows it's less because you're a mayor more because of circumstances. But yeah he's hoping she'll break the circle. Lol but I doubt it.
ReplyDeleteBravo Spin :)
ReplyDeleteAnd for the daughter lets go with Shanae Grimes ;-)
ReplyDeleteHe followed her?
ReplyDeleteYep. A couple of days ago. I first thought she could be Lucy Lane, but than he followed Stephanie Bennet who seems more appropriate for the role
ReplyDeleteI love Jeri Ryan, she is awesome. Just the other day I saw her plotting on The OC. She played so many different roles she can pull of a lot.
ReplyDeleteSo will Damine go for her head? And will she before that slip the pregnancy secret, Moira hopefully shared with her. It would be interesting if she would tell Oliver that Moira payed off a girl, but not who and when? ^^
really? Means a lot to the people of the Glades. Remember Moira Queen went to prison for 'Destroying the glades' by use of the Earthquake machine. Dosnt matter that she got off and then also ran for Mayor. The fact of the matter is it happened.
ReplyDeleteYes, loved her on BOP! oh how I miss that show :(
ReplyDeletei meant to point of him being to run for office.
ReplyDelete
