Welcome back to round 4 of the 2015 Character Cup. Round 3 went off with mostly a whimper compared to previous rounds although the poll between Peggy Carter and Tyrion Lannister stayed close for much of the time. Heading into today's round includes Jamie Fraser, Mickey Milkovich, Buffy Summers, and Peggy Carter. Also included is the mini TV Vehicle competition. Since there were so many nominations (almost 500), I ended up breaking it into two parts - current shows and ended shows. It will work just like the Character Cup in that you will have about 24 hours to vote and the one with the most votes moves to the next round. This is the first time we're trying a contest within a contest so pardon me as I work out the kinks. Also, to see the current round in the embedded brackets at the end, scroll all the way down and then you should have the ability to slide the screen over. Questions? Comment below. Without any further ado, happy voting!
Prediction Cup Update - For the third day in a row, Perrin is leading our Prediction Contest. Nice job! Wired Wizard (second) and DarkUFO (third) have switched spots though. Congrats to all three of you on your great predicting.

Today's TV Talk Topic:
A big thanks to Emma and Pam who inspired this TV Talk Topic. I really appreciate it.
TV Crews - We focus a lot on the actors of a TV show but it's the crew that put it all together and they rarely get recognized. Today the spotlight goes on them. Who are your favorite directors? Which shows have the best stunt coordination? Whose music makes the story come to life? Which TV sets or locations inspire you? Who has the best costuming? What special effects have astounded you? Which show's title sequence is amazing? What other crews make your favorite shows stand out?
Vehicle Contest:
This is just an experimental contest to see if people like the idea. I haven't done a contest-within-a-contest before so it may work well or it may not. We'll revisit it on Thursday to see if people like it or not. Basically the rules are the same as the Character Cup in that it's 1 vote per IP, about 24 hours to vote, and winner moves on. On Thursday, we will crown the winners as Best TV Vehicle, either past or current. There will not be a run-off between them because we won't have time. If you have any questions, let me know in the comments below.
Polls close around 4:45 pm CST on Tuesday
ReplyDeleteRules are posted in the links. Round 3 Facts and Stats will be update shortly.

Thanks again to everyone who has participated in this contest. It will end on Thursday so prepare for one wild ride to the end.
ReplyDelete1. Kate - by default because I'm not a fan of Root.
2. Scully - Dana Scully is one of 2 icons left in this contest and I's love to see her in the final 4. She was a smart, skeptical, scientifically minded woman in a time when a lot of women were depicted as one-dimensional, many in the role of the girlfriend or the wife or the lover. She was well-rounded and inspiring, one of my TV role models.
3. Jamie - by default because I've never watched Shameless.
4. Buffy - I am actually writing this before I know who Buffy's competitor is going to be but either way, my vote's for Buffy as the other icon left in the contest. If she's against Tyrion, it will be easier because I don't know him. If she's against Carter, it is harder but no way 8 episodes of the admittedly awesome Carter outdoes the seasons of Buffy kicking monster butt. I'm not a fan of post-high school Buffy, but she was a role model to lots of females in the 90's. She turned a genre on its head by not making the pretty blonde the victim and in doing so inspired Hollywood to take up the kick butt female archetype again. I credit Buffy for a lot of the awesome female roles on TV today, including Agent Carter, so she gets my vote for making TV as a whole better….and introducing Joss Whedon to the larger viewing audience.
LOL @ horse vs horse.
ReplyDeleteTV Talk Topic, Part 1:
ReplyDeleteA good crew can make a good show great so it's always nice to recognize their accomplishments. I will admit that many times I let the technical side slide although that's the more interesting part of TV production to me. I rarely know who directs an episode, unless it's a cast member, and I only take special notice of different production values when they really stand out. For instance, James Bamford has to be the best stunt coordinator on the planet. For awhile I stuck with Arrow just to see what sequences he would create next. The idea that this man doesn't have a bookshelf full of Emmy's for his work boggles the mind. He also worked as stunt coordinator in the Stargate franchise and actually played Michael Weatherly's stunt double in Dark Angel. My favorite directors are Kim Manners and Guy Norman Bee. Kim Manners was a stalwart on The X-Files, directing 52 episodes, before becoming the greatest director Supernatural ever had. Guy Norman Bee directed some episodes of Kyle XY and Veronica Mars at the beginning of his career as well as some episodes of Criminal Minds but now is best known for his work on Supernatural and Arrow. I particularly liked his work on the iZombie episode, Patriot Brains, too.
TV Talk Topic, Part 2:
ReplyDeleteWhile I don't like the show Hannibal, you have to give it up for the amazing visuals in that show. It's like a grotesque art show every week. On the complete opposite end of the spectrum, Outlander has some of the most beautiful scenery I have ever seen. Poldark does scenery well too. As for making the setting really work, The 100 does a fantastic job. The Ark was claustrophobic and clinical while the ground was freedom and danger. Currently I would say that Agent Carter and Vikings do a phenomenal job of costuming although Highlander is one of my absolute favorites on that score. On the comedy side, I love The Goldbergs costume department too. Make up is a definite win for Defiance on the other hand. My favorite special effects tend to be with The Flash currently but a special shout out to Fringe for its fantastic portrayal of alternate worlds and the Alt form of so many characters. As for opening sequences, I always loved The X-Files, Twilight Zone, and The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, but having seen the opener for Game of Thrones, I think it has to win hands down.
TV Talk Topic, Part 3:
ReplyDeleteObviously Galavant is made a whole lot better with its catchy, snarky songs but I like shows that introduce me to new artists as well. There are so many of them, I can't even begin to start on those. As far as musical score goes, I tend to like the classics best like The Twilight Zone and Bonanza but I've always had a special place in my heart for The X-Files and Mark Snow. My favorite TV soundtrack though is hands-down Buffy. I've been known to put on the Buffy/Angel Theme by Christophe Beck (probably my favorite TV composer of all time) and let it run the entire time I'm writing. In fact, I am listening to it right now. I love the way the music starts slow and low and then crescendos. I always feel the whole mood of their relationship through the piece. I'm not a fan of the musical episode but the rest of Buffy was spot on for music. TURN also has some fantastic music in it. I know I have missed a bunch of my favorite behind the scenes crews so I can't wait to hear your favorites to remind myself.
I thought that was very amusing myself. Personally though, I would have chosen Mr. Ed.
ReplyDeleteSo I'm down to my last person in this cup- Root! I really hope she wins! Such an amazing character!
ReplyDeleteGo Daryl and Peggy!! :)
ReplyDeleteThe Leftovers score by Max Richter is my favorite. The show wouldn't exist without it. I also love the haunting score by Hannibal and Person of Interest has an amazing score as well.
ReplyDeleteRock em Sock em Root... fight on Interface.
ReplyDeleteI voted for Daryl & Buffy
ReplyDeleteThe Peggy vs Buffy vote was the hardest poll thus far for me but it just came down to buffy has had 7 seasons of development vs peggys 1. I love them both to bits but i like buffy just a tad more
My favorite opening title sequences are in no particular order. Daredevil, POI, The Americans, Penny Dreadful, The Leftovers, Bloodline, The Affair, etc.
ReplyDeleteBatmobil vs Kitt? That's cruel. (I guess I was the only one who nominated the Omni)
ReplyDeleteWell, I will sat back and wait out for most of the polls, but Jamie gets my vote and I am really looking forward to the result of Peggy vs Buffy. I go for Peggy. While Buffy has more screentime, I think Peggy is nevertheless a more well-rounded character than her. I also like that Peggy embraces her femininity more than Buffy ever did. Plus, Peggy kicks butt without being the chosen one. She is simply awesome because she wants to be.
Hannibal clearly has the best visuals. The show is a work of art.
ReplyDeleteA horse is a horse, of course, of course.
ReplyDeleteAbout the current question: What I tend to notice the most is cinematography. The first two season of Vikings and the first one of Grimm really stood out to me in this regard.
ReplyDeleteBuffy against Peggy? Harsh.
ReplyDeleteRoot, Daryl and Buffy this round for me.
Buffy vs Peggy?!! You're killing me! Buffy this time, also Scully and Jamie.
ReplyDeleteVehicles: Baby (of course), The Bus, the TARDIS (it's bigger on the inside! What more do you want?), Athos' horse, Galactica, Moya (she can feel!), and the batmobile.
Yes! The Buffy and Angel theme! Especially Angel with the sombre violin akin to the titular character's tortured soul, and then the drums crash in when he kicks through the door in the accompanying video. Pure awesomeness.
ReplyDeleteOn and btw: I was right, Peggy is the last Comic book show character left standing.
ReplyDeleteWalking Dead is a Comic :)
ReplyDeleteBeckett,Daryl,Peggy & Jamie.
ReplyDeleteFav Car-Dean's baby-Impala.
Best Costume & Production Design-Game of Thrones.
Best Cinematography-Hannibal.
Best Background Score-GoT,OUAT & TVD.
I voted Scully, Buffy, and Baby. And I knew the Batmobile would win, so I voted KITT, and I really did love Kitt, so idc. That car deserves some love too. And iI made a mistake and accidentally voted the A-Team van! UGH!!! I wasn't paying attention my last vote and didn't even look to see who it was going against. Ugh! My true vote was the Enterprise!
ReplyDeleteGo Root!!!
ReplyDeletehttp://38.media.tumblr.com/d296087304c04418756a624c4464eb44/tumblr_nlsnyjTAea1qjwc63o2_250.gif
iZombie is a comic book series.
ReplyDeleteiZombie is not left in the competition :)
ReplyDeleteThe changing pics really work well as prompts.
ReplyDelete"You see the world differently than most, don't you? A threat around every corner. Tell me, do you feel the need to protect people? To save them?" Caroline Turing, possibly my favorite Root alias.
But is Daryl in the comics ?
ReplyDeleteCOME ON ROOT.
ReplyDeleteTV topic: A lot of recent shows that I watch don't even feature a title sequence and only smart parts of the theme song......I guess it to save time on the 42 mins air time...... like the smallville and buffy theme song but those days are over I think
ReplyDeleteOhhh is that what she meant? Hahahaha I was thinking something else.
ReplyDeleteI've no idea sorry, I've not read the comics :)
ReplyDeleteI think James Bamford won't win stunt coordination emmy is The CW effect......perhaps he will win one day
ReplyDeleteTV Crews - I know everyone is getting tired of hearing about Outlander....but man.....it is such a phenomenal team! Bear McCreary on music - and actually the only Emmy nod for Outlander! The guy is truly a master - also doing Black Sails (another fav) not to mention Agents of SHIELD, the Walking Dead, Constantine and many more!
ReplyDeleteScotland in all it's glory as a backdrop....I mean, wow. I love Scotland anyway, but even many of the cast say the country itself is another character in the story.
I haven't watched many of the other 'period' type shows so don't know how good or bad the costuming is. I've seen high praise and sniping at the costumes Terry Dresbach has done. I had someone say 'they are drab and BROWN' - well of course many of them were! In researching and doing the costumes correctly to the time and area, they dyed the wools as they should have been done! Muted colors and sturdy fabrics that hold up to harsh use! I can't wait to see what she does with Season 2 and the French court!
For special effects - the prosthetic work that had to be done on Sam Heughan was - disturbing and accurate. The scars on his back, the open wounds during the flogging, the smashed hand and having a nail driven through the same. Ron really tries to minimize the CGI used for the show, so all that worked.
A lot of people think OL is just 'housewife' porn and refuse to give it an honest, open try. It's too bad because they are missing out on a great show.....but we all have what we like and want to support!
Root
ReplyDeleteNo, he's not. He's an addition.
ReplyDeleteBuffy is the only character left for me to vote for. All my other faves have been knocked out. Right now I'm way more interested in the vehicle contest - lots to choose from, and some were really coin tosses. While I like a lot of the entrants, in the end I hope either the Tardis or the Enterprise wins.
ReplyDeleteAs for the TV Topic: A great crew is under-rated because they do their jobs so well, no one complains about them. The sound levels are correct, the background music fits the scene without overwhelming it, the lighting is right, and the continuity is there. But another thing about a great crew is that they are valued by the cast and shows producers for the job they do. I know people like to make fun of NCIS as being an old-skewing program, but from what I have heard the show's crew is treated like family. I read frequently that guest stars talk about how nice it is to work on the show, and the crew is included in all the celebrations, like the award for NCIS being the most watched drama in the world.
Oh thanks i remember somewhere i read it,and Merle his brother
ReplyDeleteI seem to recall the comics had a character called Dwight who had a crossbow?
ReplyDeleteI don't really count Walking Dead because I doubt that most of the general audience is even aware that it is based on a comic book.
ReplyDeleteTV Talk:
ReplyDeleteBest director: Chris Fisher, Person Of Interest. He directed superb episodes like Prisoner's Dilemma, The Devil's Share, A House Divided, Deus Ex Machina, If-Then-Else, and YHWH. Just watch these clips to see how incredible his work is: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AD8qvpMw8Vw https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fyWsayZrbZc
(Warning: Spoilers.)
I love the visual effects of Person of Interest. The show is soooo stunning. I'm working on an album of POV shots from the Machine and Samaritan: https://imgur.com/a/8hSrN (some spoilers)
I also love POI's opening credits, especially from season 4. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y7Kim1Gxg3w In season 5, the opening could be very different though, given the events of the season 4 finale. Or we might not get an intro at all- a show in its fifth season does not *really* need that kind of exposition.
Not sure I agree about that :) It's one of the most popular and has won several awards
ReplyDeleteBest cinematography has to go to Hannibal.
ReplyDeleteGo Root!
ReplyDeleteWell, then I rephrase it: Peggy is the last Superhero-show-character left standing.
ReplyDeleteI always enjoyed the set of Mad Men especially in the beginning. The costumes were amazing and one of my favorite parts of the show.
ReplyDeleteAs I mentioned before, music played a large part of One Tree Hill. I loved the songs that they featured, and I even bought the soundtracks. I love the music and opening sequence of Blue Bloods. I don't know why, but I think it's catchy and always gets me excited for the show. I alap loved ER's opening sequence.
For stunt coordination, I would have to go with Arrow, NCIS: LA, and Chicago PD (I know... What a surprise!). I know that the cast of Chicago PD trained with real cops before the show started filming.
As far as special effects go, I think Vampire Diaries and The Flash are my favorites. I think the makeup artists on Vampire Diaries are very talented, too.
I think it was Jim who brought up the crew's overall approach, that it's "gotta look like cinema." It's more tangible at some times than others, but it's one of the things that POI has over pretty much everything else I've seen, like a Nolan film in forty-three minutes.
ReplyDeleteI completely agree. Here's hoping that Jane the Virgin will open some doors for other CW shows too.
ReplyDeleteIt is one of my favorite music scores ever. So haunting and so beautiful.
ReplyDeleteRoot! One of the best acted, best written female anti-heroes of our time!
ReplyDeleteHope Kate beats Root.
ReplyDeleteHope Root beats Kate.
ReplyDelete- Root
ReplyDelete- Scully
- Jamie
- Peggy! You can do it, Agent Carter %hearts;
Here, have a clip of Root being a badass as she protects a number: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v0gn8tGlzvM
ReplyDelete"Kill me if you can!"
This is a cruel, cruel time in the poll.

TV Topic -
I'm going past and present. I think this Fall is going to introduce a lot of new favorites in these categories.
TV Directors
Dean White (The 100, The Shield, Banshee S4)
Jensen Ackles
The entire Teen Wolf team
Paris Barclay (SOA, Cold Case)
Adam Arkin (SOA, Justified, The Americans)
Best Stunt Coordination
Banshee, Daredevil, Arrow. No other show comes close to this level of action sequences for me.
Music
The departed Sons of Anarchy. I have all of their released soundtracks. Teen Wolf has really great music. I still listen to that cover of "Bad Moon Rising" during the Dark Stiles era.
TV Sets
Fargo, Friday Night Lights, Justified, The 100, Game of Thrones but Hannibal/FNL tie for cinematography.
Costuming
GoT, The 100
Special Effects
Supernatural, Teen Wolf, The 100, Arrow, The Flash
Title Sequence
The Soparano's, Teen Wolf, The 100, The OC, Friday Night Lights
Standout Crew
Editors. I don't care how great your direction is, it only takes one editorial mistake to ruin a perfect 2 min shot. The wrong song choice, the wrong cut. Anything can go wrong with bad editors.
Root, Scully and Mickey. I'm actually surprised he's still in the contest.
ReplyDeleteThis was pretty awesome too. I agree.
ReplyDeletehttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eNCakQn_0hE&list=RDeNCakQn_0hE#t=12
That's the same as for me.
ReplyDeleteRoot and Scully!
ReplyDeleteGalactica, Moya and Enterprise!
I will take a closer look at Daredevil's when I go back to finish it. I don't remember it off the top of my head. Penny Dreadful's definitely set the mood.
ReplyDeleteI forgot about Friday Night Lights! I love it's opening sequence! Definitely one of my favorites.
ReplyDeleteROOOOT!!!!!
ReplyDeleteI think you were the only one to nominate the Omni, but I don't remember. I just wrote down the top nominees for this one.
ReplyDeleteVikings has gorgeous cinematography. It would be a top choice for me as well.
ReplyDeleteIt can make me tear up in a heartbeat if I'm in a mood. It's so good.
ReplyDeleteI think the last one will be the poll most people struggle with. Nothing like two kick butt women going against each other.
ReplyDeleteI completely understand because that poll was hard for me too. I wish they were aginst any other character left, except maybe Scully. I love Scully too. Moya getting in was a surprise for me but I was delighted. She's probably my favorite spaceship ever.
ReplyDeleteOh, I don't know. I never read the comics either. I just remember reading that they created Daryl for Norman Reedus. They loved his audition for Merle so much, they wanted to keep him but in a longer role.
ReplyDeleteI hope the Supernatural fans find this competition becaae I would lvoe to see Baby get some love. I'll have to check out OUaT's background score. I am always looking for music to write by and instrumental does that best for me.
ReplyDeleteYAAAAY she made it, go Peggy!
ReplyDelete1. I actually really like both characters. Even though I have dropped Castle, Kate Becket is an excellent character who I really adore - it helps that Stana is gorgeous. This was surprisingly hard for me but ultimately the momentum had me going for Root, who just had a hell of an year on Person of Interest development wise, with plenty of remarkable moments to go around.
2. Daryl Dixon by default but I am happy to support him (although a little part of me is still bitter it isn't Rick Grimes here, but Daryl is great as well)
3. Jamie by default
4. PEGGY freaking CARTER! One of the most awesome, well rounded, enjoyable, rootable characters around, played by one the most crushable actress on TV or movies right now for me. You go, Peggy!
I will likely end up voting for KITT too since the Batmobile will get enough love.
ReplyDeleteI am glad the pictures are working for everyone. I had not used the head-to-head type poll before this.
ReplyDeleteMoonlight Sonata (The theme from Love Story) is my quiet time instrumental. Then any instrumentals of classic rock.
ReplyDeleteI have a mixture of those that do and those that don't. I think it depends on the show. I lvoe the Buffy theme song, but I don't remember Smallville's. I'll have to check that out.
ReplyDeleteThe vehicles thing is actually a lot of fun ahah. Here it goes:
ReplyDelete1. I've only seen three full seasons of Supernatural and I am a big OUAT fan but I actually have to go for Impala here since it is more integral to the show than Emma's also remarkable yellow one
2. Ohh.. The two Shields against one another? The Bus for me for the significance, though Lola is awesome as well
3. None
4. Donas by default
5. The GALACTICA! I didn't actually submit nominations but this was the one vehicle I was hoping would get in. Glad it did. Oh I miss this show!
Daredevil's is just spectacular.
ReplyDeleteI love Agent Carter but my old bedroom still has 20 Buffy posters up on the walls. Could never vote against her!
ReplyDeleteAnd for those of you who've never seen Shameless, here's an introduction to Mickey Milkovich. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c47cOLDTKRo
TV Topic: I watched Skins when it first aired, and the music they selected really elevated an already great series. I can't watch it on Netflix cause they switched out a ton of original songs since the licensing fees were to expensive.
I think the scenery on Outlander is gorgeous as well. It's one of my favorite visuals on TV.
ReplyDeleteMy votes are Beckett and Buffy! I love Beckett as a character and like that even though she and Castle got together she isn't defined by that relationship which can happen in shows. Voted Buffy over Carter though I really like Peggy, I have known Buffy over so many more seasons and really got the know the character more. Unfortunately as I am voting, both my picks are at 48% but I'm sure that will change by tomorrow!
ReplyDeleteVehicular Votes: Impala, Lola, Stile's Jeep (No idea it had a name...), Serenity and Batmobile.
TV Topic: I think those DVD extras, behind the scenes stuff, Directors commentary etc. help us to learn more about what goes into making the show beyond what we see on the screen. There is actually SO much more than just the actors, and so many people who put together the sets and cosumes that we see. Music I find a huge part of shows and I know I used to download ALL the Vampire Diaries music for the first 5 seasons almost. The stunts on shows like Supernatural, Arrow, Flash, Agents of Shield, Nikita, Agent Carter etc. I have enjoyed and the show would obviously be lacking without the fight sequences. Opening sequences I mostly skip but I do enjoy them on Sleepy Hollow and Teen Wolf and other shows. I think its interesting how so many shows have moved away from the opening sequence all together and just use a title card since we skip most of them anyway and they can put in an extra 30 seconds in the show itself.
I'm glad you like the vehicle contest. My main goal for the Character Cup is to give people a reason to keep coming back after their favorite characters are gone. Last year we added the TV Talk Topic (still my favorite part) and the prediction contest. At a certain point of any internet contest, people's favorites are no longer in the running so I hope the vehicle mini-cup will breathe new life back into this for some people.
ReplyDeleteI love when the crew is treated as just as important on a set as the cast. I shows great respect and understanding. I'm glad NCIS is one such cast.
I love when fans get creative like with this lego version. That's one of the best parts of fandom.
ReplyDeleteRight?? I really did love Kitt Though. Not gonna lie that was a hard choice, I wasn't prepared for that. Lol But I don't regret voting for it.
ReplyDeleteMad Men did do a fantastic job with costumes and sets. I read a magazine article about the set and it was amazing how much detail went into everything. It was also a get visual feat. I'll have to check out Blue bloods opening sequence. I don't remember it.
ReplyDeleteI think the Supernatural fandom was pretty busy the other day and it doesn't have the following here that it once had. I am hoping that Baby can pull off a surprising win in the Vehicle contest though. She deserves it.
ReplyDeleteI haven't start Battlestar Galactica yet, but I've seen the ship and it is impressive, so I made the vote there merely based on aesthetic, and the Galactica won my vote.
ReplyDeleteEverything else is pretty much the same as your votes, except for Donas as I haven't watched Outlander yet.
The Impala has my vote through the whole vehicle competition: it is home, and it is so symbolic through the 7 seasons of SPN I watched that there is no way I won't vote for it: it's just awesome.
Awww, it's supposed to be getting easier, not harder in the voting.
ReplyDeleteI'm pretty much a fan of the direction on The 100 and Teen Wolf too and I always love when Jensen gets to use his directorial skills. On a side note, I miss Cold Case so badly. I keep hearing about the Daredevil stunt work so I'm really excited about it. I actually think Teen Wolf fan vids have better music than the show itself, but that might be the still ringing in my ears of that obnoxious club music last Monday. I did think the Bad Moon Rising sequence was amazing.
Supernatural's special effects have gotten better every season. I remember some cringeworthy times in season 1 (Hookman anyone?) but I enjoy them now. Teen Wolf and The 100 do a pretty remarkable job with their budget as well although the water monster from the pilot and the gorilla in last season on The 100 make me cringe. The Flash totally rocked special effects for me this year. Here's hoping the spin-off will too. I love Teen Wolf's title sequence, even though I hate Tyler H being cut from them and while it's not a sequence, I always look forward to the new title card from SPN.
I 100% agree that editors are the unsung heroes of the whole production. In fact, I don't know who the best editors are because they are the ones that I don't have to focus on. They do their job right.
I think I need to rewatch Friday Night Lights soon.
ReplyDeleteKate Beckett and Jamie Fraser
ReplyDeleteVehicles: Emma's bug (OUAT), The Bus (SHIELD) and Jamie's horse (Outlander)
Shameless campaign of the day. She may not have super powers but she most certainly is a super hero in her own right, and yes that concerns the crazy badass skills that she possesses but also the way she handles the entire world and everything that comes her way without loosing herself and putting her value into question. Vote for Peggy!
ReplyDeletehttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QLEdmto2D4Y
May's fight scenes are legendary. I definitely put those on the list of best stunts too. The May versus Fake May fight is one of my absolute favorites. I forgot about The Strain's score. I liked that one too. Stargate did a great job of worldbuilding in all of its incarnations and I agree that the costuming on Penny Dreadful is stunning. Some of the stills show how intricate it is. For as much as I don't like Sleepy Hollow anymore, it does have a great title sequence.
ReplyDeleteBGS is a MUST in my list: I've been meaning to watch it forever, but got distracted.
ReplyDeleteI just finished Buffy and I'm close to finish Angel. Then, I promised my sister that I'd watch Pretty Little Liars (and in return, she'll watch Fringe), so BSG will come after that, unless I decide to go back to POI... it'll be a tough call. I'll probably end up choosing POI first to be all caught up by the time the 5th season comes.
So as you see I got a bit of stuff going xD. But I haven't forgot for one second about BGS: it looks like my kind of show and I have this feeling that I'll fall for it pretty quickly.
I have that feeling as well with you, that's why I am so insistent about it ;) But yeah you have quite a lot going on. And although I prefer BSG personally, I can't really complain about anyone watching POI, also an excellent high quality show. I have a lot of stuff on my watch list as well, although a big difference is that I have more shows but way less long shows, which I usually avoid anyway. Most of the stuff on my watch list has 1-2 seasons and a lot is cable so it is not even full seasons.
ReplyDeleteThat makes sense!
ReplyDelete
